It is a large and spacious Wegmans, although a little bit more cramped than my usual one. We were on a quest to find some snacks to eat, and we managed to find everything in a timely manner. Oh Danny Boy! I cant say enough about Wegmans Food Market. They have a darker, more intimate atmosphere than Tops. Its almost intimate enough to make out in their produce! lol. Melons. Anyway, I always shop at Wegmans when I need to shop. My only complint is the tile floor. Goodness thats noisy when you get 300 carts rolling on it! It makes my teeth rattle just thinking about it. It would make Gramma's teeth rattle, too, but she leaves them at home. And meat! There delli department is pretty full of sliced meats'. You can even get olive loaf! (Do they have a "Popeye loaf"? Stopped in to get a sandwich to go on a noon flight home. We were highly impressed by the bakery options and ended up buying bread to go and a peach/raspberry bialy for lunch with some fine fresh sandwiches. Browsed the produce section that had the greatest variety of very fresh fruit and veggies I can recall ever seeing. The peaches were proudly displayed as locally grown at a named orchard nearby. My wife now intends to write to Wegmans to beg them to open a store in Tampa......that will be more of a thrill than the Trader Joe's boutique grocery. read more

Regarding: Sarah, manager of the W kids program at Wegmans on Sheridan Drive in Williamsville, New York. The manager of the W kids child minding room at Wegmans, Sarah, was incredibly insulting to my family. My son Anthony, age 7, is autistic. He, like every other autistic child, often needs to be redirected. On June 25 at 12 PM Anthony was in the W kids room. There were two employees in the room and four other children. One of the employees was standing in the corner with a cast on her foot and she was very disconnected from the children, not engaging in the least. Anthony was coloring on his own iPad with the crayons at W kids. He was also coloring on the table. He also took off his shoes. This seems to be a major offense in W kids area. When I asked Sarah she informed me that she was not allowed to touch the children and she was not going to be able to put Anthony's shoes back on him. Often, autistic children are unable to put their own shoes on because of the fine motor skills required. Simple redirection and employees who pay attention to the children they are taking care of would have eliminated these situations. Sarah, who identified herself as the manager, called me and reported that Anthony was being "very disobedient." She said that I need to return to W kids to retrieve Anthony immediately. When I arrived at W kids Anthony was sitting quietly with his iPad with Sarah standing anxiously at the gate awaiting my arrival. She was very aggressive and insistent that Anthony be removed from W kids immediately. When I asked her whether or not she has any experience with special needs children she informed me that she is very involved in the Special Olympics. This comes as a huge surprise to me considering her obvious distaste for and intolerance of children with special needs. I will be sure to inform the Special Olympics committee of this offense so that they may remove her from their program as well. In the seven years that Anthony has had autism I have never been compelled to make a formal complaint. I found her immeasurable loathing and disgust for special needs children to be shocking and disturbing. I have shared this message the entire autism community in Buffalo, including Summit Educational Resources, the largest provider of educational resources for children with special needs. I plan to send this email to Bornhava school, Buffalo Hearing and Speech school, and all of the elementary, middle, and high schools in the area. Please feel free to share this message with your community as well. In an effort to prevent other parents of special needs children from experiencing this outrageous atrocity, I am sharing this information. Aggression, loathing, and hatred of special needs children should not be tolerated by Wegmans. It is clear that she abhors and is disgusted by special needs children. It pains me to know that there are people in our community who are affecting our children and such a negative way. read more

Hands down best grocery store in the area. Let's start with the prices. Incredibly fair, cheaper than Dash's and Tops for most items, even sometimes when they're on sale. On to produce. So fresh. Always. And a very wide variety, including tons of organic which is 90% of what I purchase. Then there's the prepared food... *Mouth watering*... It's so good and beats out freaking restaurants a lot of the time. Even sushi! It's always fresh. That's the best and most important part. The service is unbeatable. Wegmans is my favorite supermarket in the entire world. I seriously love this place!! The bakery is top notch, my favorite to get is the fruit tart! I know it sounds like nothing special, but it is honestly the best fruit tart I've ever had. I also love getting subs here. Miles ahead of Subway! They come in 7 or 14 inch. This Wegmans is actually on the path to getting better. Everyone who has mentioned how small it is speaks the truth. However, the store is in the middle of a $40 million expansion/renovation and has debuted a much larger Cafe (now has everything, including a rooster that crows every hour above the Sub Shop). The Pub opens 12/9/15 and will have craft beer and wine with a sit down lunch/dinner menu. The produce, bakery, deli and cheese shop have all been expanded and the rest of the store is getting a total redo in 2016. It also got a new Cafe entrance as part of the renovations. Supposedly it will also get a wine/liquor store similar to the Amherst St Wegmans in Black Rock. The changes so far are a nice improvement and brings it on par with the Sheridan Dr, McKinley and Alberta Dr stores. If you haven't seen it since the redo started, it's worth another look. read more

Let me start by saying I have been a loyal Wegmans customer for quite a few years so it hurts me to have to write this review. THIS WEGMANS IS RACIST FROM THE CUSTOMERS RIGHT DOWN TO THE LAST EMPLOYEE!!!!!!!! I am deeply hurt that a chain I supported could have a store where my wife and I are stared at in a hostile manner while doing our grocery shopping from both customers and employees (I am white my wife is black), one cashier even had the nerve to ask me how I comb my daughters hair!?!?!?!?!?!?! I was in such a state of shock I couldn't believe it she should feel lucky my wife wasn't with me on that visit! How reprehensible it is that Western New York is far more hostile towards my interracial marriage than Myrtle Beach SC,where we received no issues with our relationship. Produce section comparable to the Wegmans in Black Rock in terms of the way it is set up. At 5:00 on a Saturday night they were out of a few things such as zucchini and basil. I think I can speak for others when I say Wegmans is the greatest food store on earth therefore it should never run out of anything! The cafe area was smaller than other Wegmans I have been too but was very clean and well run. Mediterranean bar very clean and had lots of hummus options. I love their bread section, it was like a mini maze, fully stocked, lots of healthy low sodium options. I was not impressed with their gluten free section. It was very minimal. They didn't have any rice puffs, kamut puffs or corn puffs which is what I buy regularly at other locations. They also did not have any quinoa pasta which is another item I buy fairly regularly at other Wegmans. Their freezer section is much different than other stores too. It has the freezers on the ground that you grab items from the top. I actually prefer that, it's easy to see all of the items without the fog from the freezers and it was organized very well. The staff seemed nice as usual however at most Wegmans, if you forget your card, you just punch in your phone number, press enter and you're on your way. At this Wegmans, if you enter your phone number because you have forgotten your card, the cashier needs to alert a manager, wait for them to come over to your lane and override the authorization. Come again? This isn't a gift card I'm trying to use or a refund I'm looking for, I'm just typing in my phone number to find out that I didn't even save a penny. It was odd. This is only for the Transit Road location. I found the store to be incredibly tight and hard to maneuver. They had tastings set up all over the store which would be great; however I couldn't get down the aisles with my cart. The organic section needs a little more organization and perhaps someone who has knowledge about organic food should be stationed there for questions. read more

This Wegmans is going downhill quickly. In the last few months, 1) had to return cheese which was old and funky, 2) bought something at the deli and 'used by' date was the day before, 3) wrong price sticker on deli item, 4) I was about to buy shrimp cocktail and the sticker showed it was 3 days old, 5) another deli item went bad next day. Generally the quality of all the deli, meat, fish items are going downhill. And the Pub - the selection of beer is not impressive - why do they serve beer on tap which we can buy in their beer section?? Although this Wegmans isn't the closest one to my house it is closest to work so I go here for a quick lunch quite a bit. There is usually a fair amount of cashiers in the prepared foods section to ring out the customers during the lunch rush and we are able to get in and out quickly. I love the fresh foods and all of the the grab and go items. My only issue with this Wegmans is the lack of soup options for vegetarians. There are many vegetarian food options in the prepared foods but when it comes to soup the is usually only one or no options to choose from. I've been coming 3-4 times per week for the last 6 months and have never seen a vegetable or minestrone soup option. Even a corn chowder that doesn't have seafood in it would be better for some variety. However, overall I enjoy this Wegmans and would recommend it! read more

Surprisingly it was not that crowded today on 4/13/2020 sometime after 9 am, so I was very happy about this because a lot of customers are still not engaging in social distancing themselves from others. With that being said.... guess who didn't engage in social distancing their self while I had my back turned at the self check out??? The employee at the self checkout. Not only that but I didn't even ask for her help. She came out of no where, too close, while my back was turned, I didn't signal for her help at all, and it seemed very peculiar. I did talk to the store manager Melissa regarding this and I hope she do something about this like she said she would. Melissa also suggested that I put my hand up to signal to stay away 6 ft but how can I when I had my back turned and I didn't know that she was coming towards me.
