Kombucha selection
Lauren C.

Nice little market with a decent kombucha selection (with Bootleg Bucha and GT's), local bread (BreadHive), local pickles (from Barrel & Brine), plus some great homemade products like oil-free hummus.

Fresh pastries. I got a spinach & feta (bottom right corner)

Healthy and delicious! Truly food you feel good about. A little pricey, but you are getting, and paying for quality. No matter what I'm going for, I always pick up a fresh pastry. Spinach and feta is usually my go to, but the giant thumbprint cookies are amazing. I'm pretty sure those are vegan too

Awesome dinner for two: $40 bucks

I have nothing negative to say about the elmwood location so this is a stretch but with social distancing it's not a quick trip so give yourself twenty minutes and don't go if you need to "grab something real which". When the world isn't ending it's definitely a quicker, more efficient shopping experience. Everything is very high quality and you are able to find pretty much anything you would want if you were under any dietary constraints (vegan, gf, etc) and the prices reflect that. It's worth it though. Anything made in house will never disappoint. My favorite sandwich in the world is their vegan Thai peanut wrap (and I'm a card carrying carnivore). At least one of their sandwiches or wraps is going to end up on your top ten list. The desserts and bakery items are numerous and amazing. If I could only eat one dessert for the rest of my life it would actually be their lemon bars. I ate one every single day on my way to class at buff state and ten years later I would still happily do so. Tart, sweet, buttery, and perfect pretty much sums them up. It's worth getting a membership if you are planning on going there more than five times a year. It's not a place you can do all of your grocery shopping but it's where you should stop first to get anything that isn't a staple. It's not they don't have everything you need, it's just that you would probably go bankrupt. It's the ideal place to pick up dinner if you don't want take out and don't want to cook. Which is what I did today as reflected in the pic.

Nasty undercooked fatty bacon

Standing here re-frying the flaccid, fat-ridden, undercooked bacon I got on my breakfast sandwich--and re-toasting the raw English muffin it came on. Disgusting and pretty irritating since they charge a crap ton for it. Getting the hash brown sandwich isn't any better cause it's dry as a fart. Done with coop breakfasts.

The bouquet.

I was walking with a friend downtown and I noticed some beautiful flowers in a display outside this store. I haven't been here in years so I decided to stop in. I grabbed a bouquet of sunflowers, similar to the lovely ones outside their store. They have nice produce. It's a small store and they have a lot of things packed in there. I saw a few kinds of Late July chips that were new (to me.) I grabbed two of them. The Buffalo Queso ones were good but the ranch ones were bland. I had some with guacamole. I didn't buy any beer but they had many different varieties with many cool pandemic-themed names. I grabbed a caprese breakfast sandwich. There was a sign asking that you stand six feet apart. There were three lines open so the wait wasn't too long. I'll probably come back again, if I'm in the area, to pick up some of their awesome-looking baked goods.

Vegan vanilla cake

Lexington co-op is a great market place for small grocery runs. I am not regular to this store but I love variety of vegan options that I get here. If I am around the store I always stop to get vegan cakes for my MIL which she loves and enjoys. Lex is pricey, small and I wish they had parking.

If you're ever been to Seattle, this is very much like a smaller version of a PCC market (natural, organic grocery store). They have a lot of locally-grown products as well as gluten-free, organic foods. They also have a food bar that has a decent selection of food too. The prices are a bit pricier than other places, but they do carry some unique products (e.g. Kimchi-flavored nachos). Good store to find snacks!

Best non dairy milk

If you are familiar with Wholefoods, then you can expect the same prices as well as the food here. This Lexco location is the smaller of the two, the bigger store is on Hertel. What makes this location unique, is that the Buffalo food tours features them. I love the variety of local products that they carry. There produce is fresh and their carry out Cafe is very good. No complaints with Lexco at all.

It is FAT TUESDAY/MARDI GRAS and in Buffalo that means FASNACHT, a carnival treat!

We were crushing the shops of Elmwood and needed a break so we poked into Lexington Co-Op and got a couple of waters.

I discovered this store during 2025 and it has quickly become my go-to favorite grocery store. I'm…read morehere at least weekly. If you eat seasonally and value keeping your money in the local community, this is a great place to do both. Things I love: Great deals on seasonal produce, especially for members (I signed up on my second visit and boy is membership worth it!). High quality meats. Plenty of locally grown and made options with clear signage. The bulk section is especially great - bring your own containers and you can get some excellent savings on dried fruits, grains, rice, nuts, candies, beans, spices, loose-leaf tea, and more. Sometimes they do tasting days where you can try samples of the pre-made food items. Non-food things: Staff is all friendly and helpful. Parking is easy. They have an electric vehicle charging station in the lot. There is a "little free library" style shelf at the front to share books; there's always new stuff to read and often a selection of cookbooks to try out. Some prices are higher than at other stores so I do shop in multiple places depending on my list. For anything I want in bulk, local, or organic, this is where I get it. Plus, people here are just nice. Staff, customers, everybody. The vibe here is positive and comfortable and it's just a nice place to be.

I signed up for a Vegan baking class. Courtney is a great teacher, having first a little multiple…read morechoice quiz with little prizes(Today the prizes were vegan lollipops.) then showing a vegan cake being baked on a You Tube video, giving us tasters of two differently made vegan chocolate chocolate chip cookies and lastly supplying an assortment of topping to decorate our (made by Courtney) mini vegan chocolate cakes. Our chocolate cakes are about 4 1/2-5 inches in diameter. The topping choices were: fresh raspberries and blackberries, colored sprinkles, pecans and chocolate pieces shaped like 1/2 footballs. Courtney first made the dough to make one of the chocolate chocolate chip cookies. It's only a 90 minute class, so that bowl of dough went back to the kitchen to be baked off. Courtney then made fresh vegan vanilla buttercream, just to show us how easy it is to make as a vegan topping.. Since it was not a full class we were all offered a second cake to decorate with the vegan buttercreams and the other toppings.
