Wegmans and I have a history, and we go way back. Having been born and raised in Upstate NY, I've had a Wegmans in my life for basically as long as I can remember, and definitely as long as I've been living on my own. Moving to Richmond, VA caused a bit of a change for my fiancee and I in that we had to find a new grocery store to frequent. Whole Foods can seem a bit too snooty, Food Lion a bit too unorganized, and Martin's a bit too basic like Top's (basically the same thing but in the Northeast, same company even owns them I feel). While we're more or less content with Kroger and the novelties of Trader Joe's, they aren't Wegmans. So on the way back from a daytrip to DC, we stopped at Wegmans just to sort of reminisce of our favorite grocer back home. And it was great. Not only was it great, it was one of the newer remodeled designs and had a kick-ass second level that one could eat on and look down on large portions of the store. Coming from Rochester, NY, we had most of the originally built and slightly weathered exterior / interior stores, and this one was by and large the most fancy one I've ever been to. However, unlike Whole Foods, you don't get that snooty vibe. They have plenty of items like produce and meat, both organic and otherwise, and entire rows of natural or organic food. But they also have other things! Basically, they have anything and everything you'd want, organic and non-organic, and you can get whatever you want and not feel judged. The staff here is similar to that of my experiences in NY; friendly and helpful. This location also has a really extensive food court thing, with pizza stations, buffet lines, salad bars, a Seafood bar, and other freshly made dishes. All at fairly reasonable prices. I wasn't feeling up to eating myself after our long day out and about, but my fiancee got a piece of pizza and said it was great. While this store is about an hour and a half away from us in RVA and is a little too far to feasibly drive for groceries, the one in Fredericksburg is a bit closer and may very well make it into our schedule for weekend trips every now and then. It would be great if Wegmans made it to RVA, heaven knows we have enough Krogers and Food Lions, and I think RVA would love to have one. I've held on to my Wegmans card, now would be a great time for Wegmans to expand more! But until then, the chain is fantastic, and this store is no different! After getting a bit of a sunburn on my trip, I really wanted to find the "miracle" cure I've used in Hawaii for so many years: kukui nut lotion/oil. But where to find a mainland store nearby that carried it? I called around to several other natural stores, including Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. No one had any listed in their systems, but the employee of another store asked if I had tried Wegmans. I went online and found that Wegmans had a fantastic search function that not only helped me look up the item, but told me which stores carried it and where I could find it in the stores! (I wish every store had this feature.) Upon arriving to the store, I immediately headed to the aisle listed online and found the Alba Botanica "Hawaiian body cream," including the all-important kukui nut ingredient. I also picked up a couple other items while I was there, since they had a really great selection of natural items that can be difficult to find in other stores. While I can't say that the Alba Botanica cream is as fast-acting as the Oils of Aloha kukui nut lotion, it did help my burn to heal without any peeling. Although I must admit that I had never heard of Wegmans prior to this visit, I can definitely see myself shopping here in the future, especially when I'm looking for hard-to-find products or ingredients. read more

Love this Wegmans at the Stonebridge Center! Everything you read about a Wegmans is true.  They really are invested in their job, career, and product, just as if it is their own. We are here weekly, and the Ladies and Gentlemen in the Meat, Seafood, and Deli sections are awesome.  They're always so friendly, so courtesy, and so willing to help.  Yesterday, on our regular weekly visit, we were now blown away by the Produce section staff.  Two gentlemen walked up to the Shuck Your Own Corn section and told us "hold on folks".  We looked baffled.  They followed up by saying "Here's some fresh corn.  Don't grab any more of this corn, we wouldn't want that nor do we want you to have it, it is old."  And they proceeded to clear the table of corn (which yes, did not look as good as what they put out, but I wouldn't know that I'm not a produce expert), and they then put out 6 - 8 crates of fresh corn. The place charged an arm and a leg for sides, and we were feeding a lot of people, so we stopped here and it was pretty good! Very vinegary/fermented to warm ya. Wegmans has been my absolute favorite grocery store, but unfortunately we can no longer shop here for our produce. We mostly buy organic but lately we're having to return and throw away so much because it gets moldy within a day or two. The produce we buy in bags have usually been a gamble but lately if we a bag of potatoes, they'll only be about 3 good ones out of 8, same for the oranges and apples. The frustrating thing is that we actually do a brief inspection before we put our things in the cart like a lot shoppers do, but between the small options of good produce they have mixed with the ones that are going bad and the time it takes to find said produce, the whole thing is more than what I think should be expected from a customer. We've also had many instances where we'd buy the organic fruit in containers like the strawberries and other berries that seem to be ok only to get home to find they're positioned in a way where we couldn't see the moldy ones from the outside, I have yet to figure of if that's intentional or just a coincidence but either way it's a waste of money. I expect more from Wegmans and this is the only issue I've had so it stinks that they can no longer be our one stop shops. read more

I am giving this location 2 stars. It's convenient and has great variety but completely fails in fresh produce. Every tome I buy any vegetables or fruits it has mold when I get home and unwrap it. If it looks to be clear of mold it doesn't last for more than a day or two. I've even gone to great lengths to wash and store produce property even with the blue apple produce freshness prolonger. There needs to be a serious overhaul of this store's fresh food options. Today was the last straw when I attempted to locate anything without rot or mold. It was an epic fail. Steer clear unless you're buying non-perishables. Heading to Mom's Organic, Whole Foods, or Amazon Fresh from now on. I'd rather pay more for something I actually get to eat instead of throw away. I came to pick up my prescription at the pharmacy which closes at 9:00. I was coming from DC and the GPS said that I would arrive at exactly 8:59. I literally ran inside to hopefully make it on time and I was thankful that even though the close just turned to 9:00 thank still provided me with my new prescription with kindness and efficiency. It was greatly appreciated because I know how it feels to be ready to finish a work day and they took care of me and I was cashed out and onto shopping by 9:03. I love Wegmanns cheese section. Their meats are amazing, as are the snack & drink sections. Iberico ham and other things that you won't find in other grocery store. Staff here are kind and helpful, especially at the coffee bar. They make up some cool off-menu drinks that never cease to amaze. Today I found out how the pizza was, but I'm torn. The mushroom & truffle was bangin' but the cheese left me disappointed. They have a good hot bar, and I'm not even a buffet fan. I like the diverse options and solid quality. As far as grocery stores go, this is the jam. Their pharmacy is rad, too. We get text updates to know when our prescriptions are ready. Pretty convenient. read more

September 2022 I went to get a prevnar20 vaccine after being hospitalized on oxygen for 3 days and told to do so ASAP by my pulmonologist. Wegmans literally wrote over what I wrote and signed, did NOT inform me vaccine was changed and gave it to me along with EDITED signed sheet. When I confronted them they told me I could not have prevnar20 (UNTRUE) and I need to educate myself. This response was not what I expected (thought they would apologize) and confirms that THEIR profit is MORE IMPORTANT than the health of the public. BEWARE!!!! read more

I love Wegman's, its not your typical grocery store. I stopped in here during a road trip to get some food and snacks for the road. It ended up being convenient because we were able to get a ready to go cooked meal, snacks, and go to the bathroom. The bathroom was nice and clean. I ended up getting a meal from the Asian food bar. I picked out the green beans, veggie rice, veggie rolls, and fried fish. Everything was delicious I just wish the rice had a little more flavor. But the meal definitely satisfied my appetite! I was able to get some snacks and an employee extended his help without me asking! This is always appreciated because in comparison to other grocery stores the employees are difficult to find and don't seem interested in helping. There's food options for everyone it is wide selection for every person. read more

My previous reviews were getting too old so I wanted to do a quick update. Sushi: Tastiest sushi in Woodbridge (I mean including all the restaurants.) I will tell you this: sushi at Wegman's testes and looks like the ones you get from any grocery store in Japan. And this is a compliment. Every time I eat sushi from Wegman's, I feel like I'm home. They serve very authentic sushi. If you are looking for the Sukiyabashi Jiro-type of sushi, don't go there. Seafood: Wegman's also has the best fish in Woodbridge. I recommend going there on Fridays as it seems like they get the shipment that day. My favorite is rainbow trout. read more

I have shopped in store at this location many times with a great experience. Yesterday I had a terrible experience with the Instacart drive up pick up service. Although I was extremely upset and had a few choice words, Dori went out of her way to make the situation right and I really appreciate the extra effort that went into her customer service. Additionally Laura helped her to execute making sure I was taken care of. Many thanks to these two ladies and Wegmans for making a negative situation turn positive!! The thing about Wegman's is you may have the intention of going in with your list and getting what you need but then the samples start to call your name and next thing you know your cart is overflowing. This run however was for some flowers for a friend of mine's goddaughter. After figuring out what kind of flowers we wanted and the color, the pre-made bouquets looked sooo j/a, just average, so I decided to see if we could get some assistance. I was able to locate a young lady who was working in the floral department to ask is she could just re-wrap the flowers. To my surprise, she gave me that and then some. She asked if she could add some babies breath, yea sure, go ahead. She then picked all the dead petals off and refreshed the flowers. She asked how long they would be out of water so she knew how wet to make the little water holder contraption at the bottom of the bouquet. She advised we had about a 2 hour time span before they would need to be trimmed and set in a vase. I feel terrible to write such a review of praise and I can not even remember her name!!!! UGH, it was last Saturday and the store was swarming with people but she made us feel like we were the only paying customers in the floral section. One thing is for sure, this will be my go to spot for flowers and I will definitely have my eyes peeled for the blossoming beauty who helped us so I can come back and update this review with her name :) read more

Nice store, well stocked, friendly staff. The one problem I have with a store is that you cannot get in an express lane and pay cash. I had to stand in line behind two people that had big orders and I only have one item, which was ridiculous. They need to have at least one express lane that people can go through that want to pay with cash. I don't use credit cards to pay for one item in a grocery store. read more

Wegmans is amazing. It's a cook's paradise, a true one stop shop. Honestly, everything you could possibly need (and so much you don't need but really want) is in this store. They have ready-made food (I go for the sushi), a great beer selection at the burger counter, as well a comprehensive assortment of organic and conventional foods - all at reasonable prices. Honestly, their app alone warrants five stars. It has helped me organize and budget for my holiday cooking and baking, which has really helped manage the stress associated with large scale cooking/baking projects. read more

We live by this Wegman's. It is our main grocery store. So disappointed in how it keeps getting worst. We were bothered by the price gouging, over Giant, Aldi, Safeway and food lion...but tolerated it. Then when they started taking our favorite brands off the shelf to only sell their brand of that product, was not missed by us. No Ziplock! Really? Their's doesn't come close.. Now their bakery is going down.. Baguette are horrible, Tasteless. They don't make 1/2 of the stuff they use too. Most their meat is cryovac so you can't tell if its fresh or really how old it is, plus dries out faster when cooking this way. We never buy cryovac meat. Then.. to see their pico degio for almost 10.00!! What? Its 3 tomatoes maybe 1/2 onion... and seasoning. Insane, Probably costs then 1.50 to make. I've had it. What would I do without Wegmans? Not long has it been in my life (3 years at the most), but already I can't understand how I got on with it. I understand the Whole Foods lovers, but I just don't think anyone who really loves food could say that Wegmans is anything less than awesome. When I worked as a personal chef, I made trips here every other day to pick out the freshest ingredients for my client's meals. Never did I have trouble getting exactly what I needed (unless I made a mistake about the season. Deet-dee-dee!). Being that I would get there shortly after they opened, occasionally the produce section was not fully stocked. This was never a problem though. As soon as I'd ask one of the staff if they had more of something, they would without question run to the back to get me what ever I needed. Now that's how groceries are suppose to be. I have eaten many a meal from the sushi bar, wokery, deli, pizzaria, and even the bakery. Yes, I have eaten whole meals from the bakery. ;) Only a few things have ever not met my standards for pre-made meals, and these were the occasional low quality sushi and always the pizza. For the most part, you can get a better meal at Wegmans than you can at a sit-down restaurant, especially from the wokery. The sushi is hit and miss sadly, and the pizza is just not for me. I find it pretty flavorless and the crust is anything but special. A noteworthy aisle is in the organic section, and that is the gluten free aisle. I use to never even glance at gluten free items until I met my friend Andrew. He has a moderate gluten allergy that prohibits him from eating almost anything from mainstream food manufacturers. Given the new gluten free movement that is happening in the food world, he is finally starting to be provided a wider variety of prepared foods. Thanks to Wegmans, he and I are able to buy a lot of the most popular brands all from one place. As I rack my brain I just can't come up with anything bad to say about Wegmans. Honestly without trying I can think up about a million more great things to say. For the sake of time and my fingers, I'll just say this. It would be hard to match the Wegmans standard as a grocery. They are all and then some. If you love food, you must go. read more

Wegmans is so much more than a grocery store. For one, it's my favorite place to go in Woodbridge. This place is an experience every time, what with the toy train following you around the store above your head, the complimentary wine tastings, and superb cafe. Browsing becomes a sport here. The selection is massive and almost every section offers free samples. You'll find cheeses here that you've never heard of, food from countries you've never heard of, and jaw droppingly expensive wine you wish you'd never heard of (I'm talking upwards of $20k for a measly bottle)! While the food & drink grocery sections are amazing, the best part of Wegmans by far is the mouth watering cafe. The serve yourself sections include an Asian Wok bar, an Indian food bar, a fresh garden bar, a brick oven pizza station, a panini/sub station, a sushi bar, a seafood bar, a soup station, a coffee/espresso station with many kinds of brews, and finally the bakery with all sorts of baked goodies. It's not every day that you can go grocery shopping and sit down to have a beer and dinner w/ a bartender at your service (as you can at the seafood bar) at the same place. The complimentary Wi-Fi and expansive seating area, upstairs and on the deck patio, are just the cherry on top of a place that should be on everyone's Must List. read more

I went again on Friday morning, to check out the scene after "opening madness" had cooled down. I went around lunch time, and seriously ate lunch there for free with all the samples that were going on. A little cheese here, a little bread there. I don't know if this strategy makes you satisfied gastronomically and you buy less--or makes you buy more of what you sample. I think it is a toss up. This time I bought that Woopie pie I had photographed before, and it was delicious. I also bought some olives off the Mediterranean bar, which were as close to the quality as Marvelous Markets, but obviously a lot closer to my homestead. The fresh mozzarella on the bar was also very good. Purchase of the day was certainly the gallon of 2% milk which was about a dollar cheaper than any other local grocery store right now. We will see how the price on that compares after week 1. read more

I will admit Wegmans is fantastic, and far superior to most grocery stores in the DMV but a wine shop, cafe' complete with gelato bar, pizzariea, sushi bar, game meat section, subs to order, and large selection of ethnic foods (Thai, Indian, Asian) hot and packaged isn't enough to earn my five star rating. Why you ask? Two simple words, Seafood Selection. I asked for Sea Bass which they didn't have. I am not unreasonable, and understand that mother nature (and most grocery stores) cannot acquiesce to my every request and insatiable appetite for this tasty jewel of the sea. I get it. What I do not appreciate is the suggestion from the misinformed fish vendor, that I should just buy the flash frozen Sea Bass because it is practically the same thing. Blasphemy. This gentlemen singlehandedly derailed Wegmans final star. Way to go dude...way to go. read more

If rays of sunlight streamed out of the doors while the angels sand it would not do this place justice. Oh Wegman's where do I even start. The good: this place has EVERYTHING. Yes, it's a grocery store, but it's really so, SO much more than that. They have the salad bar, the wing bar, the sandwich bar, the pizza bar, the sushi bar, and on and on and on. If you can't find something to eat at this store, you don't belong on this planet. The bad: wow this place is HUGE! It's pretty easy to get lost in there. Also, as much as I love all the fresh food bars, they are kind of pricey. It also gets a little crowded in there from time to time, but since it's so huge I can usually traverse the crowds. 5 out of 5 because of the phenomenal experience and vast selection. read more

Pros- I like coming to this Wegmans because they have Pita pockets and low sodium ham and no sodium turkey that is hard to find at other grocery stores around the area. Cons-the berries in the fruit section at the beginning of the store had mold on them. Also, the broccoli that wasn't packaged looked like it had been picked over and been there for a few days. Very friendly and helpful staff! I was looking for an assortment of specific items, and as this is not my usual wegmans i felt as though i were lost. I luckily made eye contact with Larry who guided me from aisle to aisle to assist me in finding everything on my shopping list. He even enlisted the help of a man, i believe to be named Herman, when he was unsure of an items location. It definitely made my shopping trip go by faster, i almost beast traffic back home- - but not quite! read more

Wegmans is hands down, one of my favorite..if not only, grocery shops in the area. They have a wide variety of foods, and most are within a good price range and tend to be on the healthier side. They have delicious gluten free and fat free products for a much cheaper price than Whole foods. I love the idea of organic foods, fruits, and vegetables so I'm pretty much always shopping from here. Everything is easily divided into sections, the wine/spirits, beers, cereal, teas/herbal meds, bakery, asian foods, vegetables..etc. Their bakery has a lot of options from vegan, eggless, to full of chocolate. I have gotten some of the best birthday cakes and cupcakes from here. Every time I bring a dessert for someone from here, they love it and I always get compliments on the quality and freshness. They have great hand rolled sushis made to order which you can enjoy at their sushi bar, or take a few box to go. I have at least 3 boxes a week from here, its the only place I trust getting sushi from because the quality is great and its very clean. Also, because you can get custom made boxes which is pretty neat. The only reason I have it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes the buffet area is not replenished and there empty sections or some foods look like they have been sitting out uncovered all day and looks..unattractive. I'm currently standing in line and have been in line for the past 15mins. It's a Saturday morning and the store has 4 registers open and a store full of shoppers lines down the aisles. This is ridiculous. Even if COVID wasn't in existence this place is still not equipped for the volume of customers they are receiving on a weekend. Management knows this but obviously doesn't care. The cashiers they have are slow to get the lines down. The front end manager could care less to open up himself the help with this issue. They have plenty of folks stocking on the floor to pull and they don't. So after 20 minutes going by and me complaining while writing this they urgently go and scramble to find people to open so they don't look bad but I'm still gonna post this cause I think it's crazy it took for me to go off while there's been exactly 15 people standing in line with no hope of leaving. So here are the names of these people on duty and didn't do anything about the problem until I complained. Fruit tarte--need I say more? I am constantly craving all the freshly made goodies offered at Wegmans. Over the summer, they offered freshly shucked oysters for $2 and they were better than any other restaurant in the DMV area. They were super plump and sweet it was just another great surprise to find there. Their selection for meats, baked goods, and cheeses is second to none. The quality of all the products is the best you can find anywhere. Their to-go bar also offers a wide variety of food and the Asian and Indian selections aren't too shabby. The pizza and pretzel rolls are additional reasons for why I go back so often. With all the great products, the staff here are also top of the line. They are so nice and helpful! The only drawback is its location. Parking sucks there since the shopping center is pretty tight. read more

In preparation for the first major snow in 2 years, I had to go grocery shopping. As expected, Wegmans was packed and it was a madhouse....a well- run madhouse. Employees were moving with a sense of urgency assisting customers and I saw managers stocking shelves. The reason for my 5-star review? EMILY on the register aisle 11-12. She is a machine!!! In the time it took her coworkers to process one customer, she completed 4 sales!!! She scanned all my groceries while in the cart and got me out in record time! Great selection, always clean and the shelves are always stocked. The only issue I've noticed is that sometimes I'll see some rotten or wilted produce mixed in with the fresh. Understandable but quality control for a grocery chain of this size with this price point should be better. Ample parking spots at this location as well read more
