I've been shopping here since I moved to this area in 2014. I used to split my shopping between this store, Giant, and Safeway, but I've dropped the other two for this Food Lion. It's just a better store and with the renovation, it's a far superior store. Prices are reasonable and at times comparable to Walmart. The young people who work there are really nice, especially the young lady who tends to help at the self checkout line. I've been pleasantly surprised by how often I'm offered free products for shopping there. At times I'll pay for my groceries and be offered free ice cream, bread, corn, peanut butter, you name it. The free peanut butter has really gotten me into natural and organic peanut butter, so thanks for that. I do have ONE complaint. We used to buy the pre-prepared (deli) pizzas weekly. It was our Friday thing to do as a family. We would buy the four (or is it six?) cheese pizza (two of them) and serve them up while watching movies at night. Recently, Food Lion changed their pizza recipe. They went from traditional crust to thin crust, and added some seasoning I believe. It tastes different, and the deciding factor is that my 5 year old son stopped eating it after a couple of bites... and pizza is his favorite food. If you bring back the old pizza, I'll change my rating to 5-star. read more

I usually shop at Food Lion and I usually like them because they're economically friendly but going to this location. I walked in with my kid and we were happy to do our shopping for the night and then we go there. I see a man who is has the worst look on his face towards my three-year-old son. Who's a kid who's you know having fun at the grocery store being a kid so that being said at first, I thought he's a customer so I didn't care much when he did not acknowledge us as a customer in the same store. The lady who is behind me who wasn't a lady I would say I would say a teenage Girl and I find it such a pervert to say to her. How are you doing tonight and here we are with the family and you don't acknowledge us so that made me realize oh this man works here so keeping my business keep walking. He has this really mean look on his face who knows what was wrong with his day but if you don't like your job, I always say if you don't like what you do, then don't do it because nobody deserve to be treated with such disrespect. My kid is running his just trolling his car almost hit. My kid with his car does not say oh I'm sorry to my kid doesn't say anything. He just gives my three-year-old a nasty look as if it was my kids fault. I tell my kid that come this way people don't know how to be nice or treat people who come to the store equally. Has the audacity to go ahead and argue with me telling me what did you see me? What did you see ma'am? You heard me what I said you don't know how to treat everybody the same when they come to the store, including kids, but you do know how to be a pervert and say hi to a teenage girl that just shows me how horrible of a person you are and it was not a safe place for us to continue shopping so we had to leave the man I asked who's the manager come to find out he is the store manager, Mr. Frank!! I would never recommend this food line to anybody with kids to go here or have young girls to go here cause there's a pervert that works here!! read more

I live within a mile of 5 grocery stores. Hands down this store is close to perfection! I have been shopping here regularly for three years plus. Everyone here has always been nice to me. I have never found an expired item on their shelves. Their sales are clear and concise and they guarantee their own brand of products. I have tried many of their store brand items and have been happy with the quality. If you try one of their Food Lion products and aren't satisfied they refund your money. I have only had to exchange/return a few things over the years and they never made me feel bad for doing so. In total they practice great customer service and they make grocery shopping tolerable! I love this Food Lion location! Highlights: - Pharmacy staff is the best! They always go above and beyond to help, despite insurance companies trying to transfer prescriptions (or your husband...). I love them! - Super friendly and helpful grocery staff. - Consistently great prices and fresh food, very reliable. - Food Lion pickup via Instacart (been using this since the pandemic started in March, the "pickers" are Food Lion employees and are great! If it's in the store, they'll find it.) - The few times I've been inside since March '20, everyone has been masked up and distancing. I do recommend early or later hours to avoid larger numbers of customers. They have signs outside that say masks are required, and sanitizing wipes / towels at the entrances for carts. - Newly renovated inside! read more

Proper mask wearing should be mandatory. I went the other day, and found the ice cream stocker hacking a lung while stocking ice cream with his mask down on his chin, exposing both his nose and mouth. I ended up leaving without purchasing anything. Perhaps put your employees through mask training since wearing it properly seems so challenging for some. read more

We had problems with another Food lion when we would order things to be picked up. But this one in Dillingham Square has always done a good job with following directions on orders and occasionally giving us small free gifts. So just rarely they give us A produce item that is not fresh but not a big deal because Instacart will refund for something like that. read more

Last week, I got a flyer for this place in the mail. Typically, I through these flyers out but this particular flyer had a coupon on it for a hand soap I have been dying to try (Method), so I clipped the coupon and put it in my coupon accordian. Yesterday, I had my bookclub over and when I was cleaning the house I noticed there was the tiniest amount of hand soap in the guest bathroom-- so I had to go get some, and not the generic stuff that was almost gone. So, off to Bloom. Oh. My. Gosh. I loved this store. Until now, in my hood, the only grocery stores that were in a 5 mile radius were Giant and Safeway. We have heard rumblings of a Wegmans and a Harris Teeter opening, but who knows when and if that will come to pass. The Bloom I went to used to be a Food Lion, not that you can really tell. The place is super clean, and there are a ton of organized brand names on the shelves. The organic section is HUGE. They had a seafood counter with an actual guy working behind the counter (I hate having to ring the bell). Since it is new, they don't have the system set up where you scan the items you want to buy yourself while shopping, but they do have the self scan checkouts which are always a bonus. read more

Food Lion is a block from my home, which is convenient as I am disabled. As they are so close, about 3 years ago I switched to the Food Lion pharmacy for my many prescriptions. Best move I could have made -- Katie, Amy, and Luisa are the absolute best! They go out of their way to ensure that you have not only your medications immediately, but do whatever it takes to save you money. Since I live on Social Security, this makes a world of difference for me. They are pleasant, caring, congenial, and jovial. read more

Ding Dong the Bloom is dead. All Blooms are back to being Food Lion. So glad the brown blossom is gone. This location is the closest Food Lion to my house and I shop between here and the Safeway up the street . It's a small neighborhood supermarket and serves the upper Lake Ridge community. One should only shop here if they are in the area as they do not have any speciality items or a large amount of stock. read more

After a few trips when this was a Foodlion I stopped going. It reconfigured itself as a Bloom. A name change was suspect and I still did not go. Then I had to make a stop due to a time issue and only needing one thing. Boy was I surprised. Lower prices than Safeway/Giant and a good looking store. I've been back and it is now where I stop when on my way home (I use to drive past and go to Safeway). Recently Safeway stopped carrying 2 items I use - Nestle no sugar added and Fluff - which I found - in the large size (good) at the Bloom. This has become a favorite store. The cashier's aren't always smiling but they do at least say "hi." Still that's 5 mi and I save good money so.... read more

Been coming here frequently for a few years. Food selection has gotten pretty good. I do have an issue with expired items but no where close to Safeway. Customer service has been hit or miss. You mostly get some awesome people but lately there have been a certain few that have some nasty attitudes. It frustrates the mess out of me considering what I do for a job involves a lot of customer service. After a long day i'm not trying to deal with someone like that. Food Lion, sometimes referred to as "Food Dog". My brother and I went in there and bought a rotisserie chicken after going to the gym. We did the math and we basically paid $3 and change each for half of a chicken. That's a good deal. Also, a delicious deal. I've had many a rotisserie chicken in my day. Wal-Mart, Wegman's, Woodman's, Giant and Shoppers to name a few. Food Lion ranks up there with Shoppers Food Warehouse in the rotisserie chicken category. In my opinion you cannot truly judge a place until you experience their hot food that comes off a kiosk warmed by heat lamps. Pro-tip save you cash screwing around with Boston Market; select a rotisserie chicken from Food Lion, buy it at the register, save the planet by refusing a plastic bag and carry it out by the handle that is integrated into the chicken case. read more

This is actually a review for the pharmacy at Food Lion. We have used this pharmacy for several years up until now that our insurance is not allowing to continue using it. The pharmacists Patrick and Amy are the best we found through all pharmacies we have used in the past. They go out of their way to provide you with the medication you need, they are on the phone or faxing requests to doctors right away if a new prescription is needed for refills and they also let you know. They look for ways to save you money by looking for coupons and pharmacy offers. Both or them deserve recognition, especially Patrick. read more

Nicest grocery in the Lakeridge corridor. They have a good selection of natural/organic foods---and the create your own 6 pack selection is a fun option. Also they are the only grocery store to carry Sargento Deli Sliced Gouda---in fact the one store I have ever seen it in, so that gives it a special point. read more

When Food Lion made over this store to the more upscale Bloom, I LOVED it. My favorite thing about it was the huge selection of organic foods. I loved how I could simply go to the organic & produce section and avoid all the other sections, thus avoiding all the junk food as well. Now that they have made it back over to the more déclassé Food Lion, it's just a bunch of junk food again, though it is slightly cleaner then other Food Lion's (for the time being). read more

A Bloom by any other name is still a decent supermarket. Be it Bloom or Food Lion, it was never the go-to place for gourmet items, specialty cuts of meat or out of the ordinary produce. But...they carry escargots and if nothing else, that makes them aok. How many of us are looking to prepare roast leg of camel or eat some unrecognizable "veggie" from a less than organic garden plot? Been there, done that but it's now nice to know there is a Bloom....uh, Food Lion. We've noticed quite a change on store shelves - even before they decided to change back into Food Lions. Different brands, wider selection, in fact, some items which are usually only found in "specialty" stores. After going to several grocery stores in the Woodbridge area and not finding what we needed and noticing that the lines were very long we ended up at Bloom. What a relief!! The shelves were being restocked and all of the checkouts were open and it was a joy to shop there. Today I went in and one of two deli grouches was there and she was just so unpleasant. She didn't say hello, didn't smile or seem like she was even interested in being there. She asked me FOUR TIMES what I wanted, then another three times how much of each thing I wanted. It was two cheeses and two meats and the same amount of each. Seriously? Then she handed me my order (which took almost 20 minutes, I know because I watched the time) as if I was a pain in her neck for being a paying customer. There have been times I elected to not even bother getting lunch meats because she is there. She moves so slowly and is so unhappy every time I go there. I have tried to smile and be kind hoping it would put a smile on her own face, but nope. Then my cashier (can't remember her name, but short and wore a bun) got an attitude about me outting my hand basket on the belt. If she had actually spoken a word to me and not slammed the bar down to separate my order from someone elses while sucking her teeth in frustration, she would have known that the only reason I did that was so i didnt have to hold it while waiting in line. My intention was to take it and put it away. But her sorry attitude changed my plans. It's the employees like this that make it worth the drive up to Wegman's or Giant. At least they are kind, polite, and respectful to paying customers! For this recurring issue, I give two stars, only because they're almost ALWAYS stocked with the things I go there for. read more

Western union on this store is always out of order as soon as manager leaves the store and on weekends or whenever they are busy. You need to train your employees on it , sometime there could be an emergency to send or receive money, if you can't do it then just put a sign that says hours you can do it , your sign says you can send or receive until 11pm read more

This is a nice neighborhood grocery store. None of the stores in the area can compare to Wegmans which is top notch, but if you need just a few items and live a distance from Wegmans like I do, Food Lion has a good selection and speedy service. Never, ever a long line and also some self service check outs. I like to be in and out of a grocery store without a hassle and I've never had one there. They also have great employees.
