You know I like to keep it short and simple --therefore I will. Most every store in Gaithersburg is crowded as hell. Especially on the weekends. (Giant- Costco-Trader Joes-Whole Foods-HMart-Grand Mart)....You can forget about keeping your sanity while shopping at the above on a Saturday. THATS WHY I LOVE BLOOM. Bloom has steady traffic but things stay calm inside. The aisle are MADE for large buggies. The bakery is great. while you wont find a wide selection of everything under the sun. you will fine the known brands plus some interesting unknowns. I think Bloom gaithersburg is better/calmer than the rockville location. read more

Have to say this place has gone totally downhill since it was Food Lion. I used to go there all the time for the convenience of my house. Totally I went there only for the CoinStar machine and to get two things. I get the CoinStar receipt or $38 and change. Go to a lane where there is a cashier with a light on (#5) and she says I am closed go to #7. So I do and wait a minute or two after a person in front. Cashier tells me to go to Customer Service because I have the CoinStar receipt. Customer Service takes me to a register, can't do it there for some reason, takes me back to Customer Service to cash the CoinStar receipt. By now, I am ticked I have been led around the store, I tell her I don't even want to buy what I took there. Took the cash from CoinStar and won't be back. Giant in Goshen Crossing is better with better customer service and selection. read more

Calling all North Carolinians! This is the place for you! Many of the brands we grew up loving, and have only sparingly been able to find, are here. Dukes, Texas Pete, Annes, actual shrimp caught in actual North Carolina by actual North Carolinians, you get the idea. Bloom is basically a very nice Food Lion. I'm unsure where they myth started that Bloom is an expensive store, it isn't. It's cheaper than Safeway and somewhere in between Shoppers & Giant, as far as price go. The area in which they really rise above is service. Their managers aren't the greatest, but the dept. people are great. The people working the deli and friendly & helpful and the seafood/meat guy can tell you what the freshest item of the day is. Their sales are awesome and they triple coupons most Fri, Sat & Sun (check the flyer online to see when they triple) Very clean store. Well lit, Nice bathroom that isn't hidden in a dark corner of the stock room. Just wish they had more cashiers & better parking spaces. read more

I like this grocery store. Near my office, and they have great "to go" salads thar are very fresh. I usually buy office cleaning supplies here, along with snacks, fruit and coffee for the office. Yesterday, I shopped here, bought quite a bit, and the total came to $75. Very low prices. The meat selection is good and the staff are very friendly. read more

I remember the old Weis when they had good prices and deals. Now when you go in they over charge for everything in the flyer. Buy one can of beans get one free, nope paid for all 4. Buy ten items at 88 cents each, nope paid full on all. Stopped and asked at the desk to make sure these were on sale and told no problem. Nothing is "on sale" and prices are high. If you have a captive place like so many apartments around there you can clean up. People don't want to help or anything. Bring back Food Lion or Bloom. read more

I have shopped here at Food Lion for the past 10 years at least as they have changed from Food Lion to Bloom and back. On most occasions, the store is great at what they do. Hence why I do most of my grocery shopping here. Today was the first I have ever experienced such terrible customer service from any store/restaurant/business I've ever visited. Understandably, we ordered a wing platter to be picked up at 1:00 but could not make it at that time. We arrived at 3:00 and they had placed the wings in the refrigerated area. With no way of reheating the wings because they were needed for a party we were attending soon, we asked if it was possible to get new wings made. The associate in that area told us she had called is at 1:00 and we did not answer, but that she would get a manager to speak with us. The manager and the associate chatted in the corner before approaching us and the manager then repeated what the associate said,"We called, your pick up time 1:00 blah blah blah." No part of that being helpful. It would have been nice for the manager to come over with a helpful attitude and say something like," Yes we did refrigerate the wings due to food safety and things of that nature but what we can do is get you some new wings as soon as possible." Rather than him repeating exactly what the associate had said in a condescending matter. Yes we were late to pick up our food but it would have been nice if they could have helped is fix the obvious problem that we were situated with. read more

Overall, this particular Food Lion (FL) is a decent supermarket; however, FL lacks significantly when one compares the likes of nearby superiors, Wegmans and CostCo. My BIGGEST complaint, FL tends to be more expensive on simple food-staples, such as, milk, bread, cereal, etc. I can't figure-out why FL charges over $3.25 on a gallon of milk, when CostCo (across the street) and Wegmans (down the street) offers different varieties of milk under $2.25: yes, a $1.00 savings. Such is also the case with bread, cereal, seafood, meats, produce, etc. A word of advise... compare the so-called sale items of basic food-staples from FL to the likes of regular prices on the same food-staples at nearby Wegmans and Costco. Thus, the level of customer service, particularly at Wegmans, in addition to low-prices, quality of foods and overall shopping experience is incomparable. read more

Patricia from bakery called the day before to verify and fine tune the order and I was blown away with the finished product. Very professional group. Also awesome fried chicken. I have known this store as Food Lion, Bloom, and Weis...doesn't matter what sign is on the front they usually have good deals. The one thing that I have noticed in that customer service is a little better not that they are Weis. It is a nice neighborhood grocery store and they have convenient hours too. The woman in the bakery knows her stuff, she can make anything that you want to order! read more

Generally clean, stocked, & well-staffed. They're open early & late. The staff helps as much as they can & call you by name if they know it. If something is wrong, they'll do what they can to resolve it. I'm actually glad they went back to Food Lion after a short period as Bloom. read more

As it turns out, this is the closest grocery store from where I now live. Actually, Trader Joe's is a bit closer (and my favorite), but sometime you need a big chain store like this to stock up on stuff. It's location is good, the aisles are wide, there are always an adequate number of registers open, and it's offering are many and varied. It's a more than average grocery store. read more

Whenever I go to this Weis location I am always greeted with a warm and friendly hello. The cashier Linsey is extremely nice and is such a pleasure to end the shopping experience. This is a make or break point for many businesses. That last face you see determines if you go back or not. Because of Linsey I will be visiting this location multiple times. Tis store is fine for the basics, however the produces, seafood, and meats are disgusting. The produce is often moldy, the seafood (shrimp) has given my husband and I food poisoning twice, and we have thrown out several packets of meat after opening them to a rank odor. Most store personnel are very kind, but the front manager (I believe she is a manager) is unbelievably rude. I have watched her on several occasions sit around and grin with a mean face at customers, while she chit chats about. I honestly hate this store. I try to avoid it, but it is literally next door so some time I need the essentials. read more

UPDATE: April 2017. Again, I really want to like this store. However, they just aren't listening to the customers. I've asked repeatedly for several items and they will not listen. In fact bacon that is nitrate free (that they used to carry) they just will not stock it anymore. They're carrying less and less, especially when it comes to natural and organic products.The cashier said "Well that's because you're the only one asking for it." That's NOT what you tell a customer! I hate to say it but they're becoming just like Food Lion was, crappy! If I wanted a CVS or 7-11 selection of goods, I'd do my grocery shopping there. Also other items I need are out of stock and no telling when they'll get those in. They had a decent manager, "Jason." I haven't seen him in a while so I guess he's no longer there. Looks like we'll have to head over to Giant. It's really a shame! Also their credit card payment system needs to be fixed. It can't handle debit cards or there's some issue that takes an extremely long time to process a chip card. It's 2017, time to get it together Weis! read more

*ZERO STARS* Very poor management at stores where I worked. Management does not want to get their hands dirty when departments are in need, and most of them are sitting in the offices on their phone. Some just take laps around the store the whole day. Not worth working here for $9 an hour to be worked like a mule to only get a thanks, a rockstar card, or a pizza party. Department leads would be working by themselves unloading the truck and stocking it by themselves and no help from management one bit. Some employees would be working multiple jobs in the store daily, but only get paid for working one single job. Huge profits were made during the beginning of the year because of the corona virus and employees were giving a $2 an hour bump to their pay. That was taken away the beginning of July if I'm correct. That raise is not enough to make all these employees life's any better even with the corona virus still being around til this day. With all that profit, you easily could have paid the employees way more. These employees are the ones stocking the entire store, not corporate or the salary managers. I left this company due to many reasons including these few. Also if you have vacation time and suddenly leave this company, don't expect to get any of it on your next check. Was told they can't do that. Out of the 30-40 hours of my vacation time I had, I got none of it on my last check. I even left a two week notice which is the right thing to do. If I would've know this, I would have left with no notice at all. Watch out, this company smells fishy. read more

John - the butcher in the meat department - is amazzzing. I came in for a chuck roast this past weekend, and John was very helpful, very polite, and had a wealth of knowledge related to his 'craft.' He was extremely patient, answered all of my questions, and even made a special cut for my husband and I. The next day, I called his manager in order to praise John's outstanding customer service, but could not get a hold of him (or her?). Anyways, it was great doing business with you and I look forward to visiting this location again soon. read more

I'd prefer food lion over weis. I'm a bit disappointing thought. There's two majors problem here at weis' store. Customer services are lack of knowledge and manager dunted his boring face. :v. In a very competitive Supermarket environment I would have accepted something unique about Bloom. I was not impressed in any way. First of all it's much smaller then your typical supermarket; that's not a big deal. But what is a big deal is the lack of variety that makes the good smaller super market chains better. I was also extremely disappointing by the energy of the employees at the register; I didn't get a smile and I was expecting my checkout person to pass me a note saying she was held prisoner against her will. read more

I was in the store in G'burg yesterday 1/10/2011 and inside the store was freezing cold, just as cold as the outside the employees had there coats and gloves on .... and they said this happens all the time I felt really bad for them. The management should really do something about this other than that the store is pretty good... read more

I ran in yesterday to get 4 items, all small. There was only one of the two self check outs working and two registers with fairly large orders. A woman came up to me and the customer behind me who also had only a few items and checked us out at the customer service desk. It made my trip in much shorter and it shows that they care about the customer. I will be shopping there more often. BTW, what I had to buy was $2.00 cheaper than Giant so that alone saved my $8.00. read more

This is, by far, one of the worst grocery stores in the area. The personnel are rude, slow, or inexperienced. The dealer counter staff are incredible slow and can't seem to complete a simple task of slicing cheese to the customer's liking. I asked a stock person where I could find a particular item and his response was that he wasn't the regular person in the aisle I was in so he didn't know. Should all of the personnel know where items are? I one instance today where one of the staff wanted to get past me and I was trying to maneuver my cart past other shoppers and he insisted three times that he need to pass me. Very rude and couldn't care less that he was pushing past me because obviously he was late for his shift. The check out staff can't do a simple transaction that involves selling gift cards. I was instructed to go to customer service. Really? Every other grocery store allows me to buy them with all of my groceries but not at Weis. There is obviously no training on customer service at Weis. I will not shop here again and tell others not to as well. read more
