She gets easily angry when she has to "think" she has mentioned she doesn't like to be asked questions when thinking... sounds like a mental illness. I am leaving a review as one of Dr. Weiwei Xu's admin staff and frontliners to patients. Dr. is one of the best female urologist in town who caters pts from across towns. She has bulk of the patients, special mention: women and those women with specific religion. Dr. Xu is a clinician in a male-dominated field and she does it very well. She keeps on updating her knowledge and learns new skill and treatments year after year. Her daily schedule is always full, upto 30 patients per day or more! Hence, for those patients who are reading these, she is the best in town. She might be very strict and sassy at times yet she's a good, really good speacialist. Most of the complaints she get are not from patients itself but from their relatives who feel too entitled and think money and race can buy the office's respect. They complain because it doesn't fit to their availability or their liking when they should be thinking of pts welfare at most! They try to display their degrees or the job that they have but cannot take the time to understand what is HIPAA-compliant from not. A lot of Dr. Xu's patients also miss their appointments without a call or advisory from them or from their designated persons on time, and that is a big deal! I hope you understand that that could've been offered to other pts who are also in need of consult; you know, that is also a waste of time, effort, and money! She is a doctor and we are her staff who need to earn for a living too. This is a job, our job! The moment that you miss an appt or disregard a reminder, that is already a loss! So, for patients who are in need of Dr. Xu's consult, please do your due diligence. This is a doctor's office not a shopping mall or a farmer's market that you can choose or do whatever you want. The services offered are for healthcare and medical treatment not bags, spa, jewelries, nor luxury consumption. Again, Dr. Xu is the best in town. She finds ways to advocate patients. Her continuous search to modern, alternative, and effective treatment is inspiring. She knows her job and she knows what to do. She is a specialist for goodness' sake. read more

I am writing this review as someone who has worked in the medical field for twenty years, and I know exactly what professionalism and ethical patient care look like. My experience with the so called Weiwei Xu was absolutely infuriating. The conduct I witnessed from Xu was completely unacceptable, shocking, and downright disgusting in any healthcare environment. Weiwei Xu made insensitive and cruel comments about a patient with a health condition. In a medical setting, where patients are vulnerable and come seeking care and support, this behavior is inexcusable. I honestly don't understand how someone with this background was allowed to become a provider. Weiwei Xu's credentials include: Temple University, an internship at St. Vincent Hospital of NYC, and a residency at New York Medical College and yet, the professionalism I observed fell far below the standards expected of any medical professional. After two decades in healthcare, I can say with certainty that this is NOT the standard patients deserve. I gave this facility one star only because zero--or less--is not an option. I will never return, and I strongly urge leadership to address this lack of professionalism immediately. Patients deserve compassion, respect, and dignity not mockery or cruelty. read more

She was very rushed in the appointments and also doesn't respond to important requests. She said she would refer us to a sugary doctor but she doesn't do her paper work. The thing happened a few times during the time when we were calling her even visit led her in person but she doesn't do finished the referal paper work. Evently we asked our family doctor did it. So we spend many month to get in the surgery. Also she gave us an important summary on a double-printed paper which we can not understand anything. To save your time please don't go to her office. I don't even know where to begin, but let me start by saying this was one of the most uncomfortable, unprofessional medical experiences I have ever had. This doctor seriously lacks basic communication skills and bedside manner. From the moment I walked in, her energy was off. She was rude, condescending, and spoke to me like I was wasting her time just by being there. I've never felt so disrespected by someone who's supposed to be helping me. But it gets worse--she had her dogs in the office. Not one, but multiple dogs just walking around like it was a doggy daycare. Barking, sniffing at my legs, climbing up on furniture. And no, this wasn't some calming therapy animal situation--this was chaotic, messy, and completely inappropriate for a professional medical environment. I'm here for a doctor's appointment, not to dodge fur and barking during a consultation. She barely listened to my concerns, cut me off multiple times, and acted like everything I said was an inconvenience to her. I left feeling completely unheard and honestly a little shaken. I don't care how many degrees you have--if you can't treat people with basic respect and maintain a clean, focused work environment, you shouldn't be seeing patients. Do yourself a favor and find someone who takes their job--and your health--seriously. This place is a joke, and unfortunately, the punchline is your time, money, and peace of mind. read more

Wei Wei Xu is one of the worst doctors. She shouldn't be considered a physician. I took my mom as a new patient and had a terrible experience. She was rude, condescending, judgmental, and disrespectful. She was reading my mom's medical chart and instead of providing helpful advice, she was judging her and made my mother feel bad about herself. It got to the point where she made my mother cry and she didn't care. She lacks empathy and professionalism, those are two essential things no doctor should lack. I've worked with many physicians so I know her behavior is unacceptable. Her office is also very dirty with papers everywhere and she looks like she doesn't shower. Her appearance lacks professionalism; she wears yoga pants and her hair doesn't look like she brushed it in days. Many people have had the same experience which is a shame that she is still allowed to be a doctor. We will never return to her office and no one else should. read more

I use to work for Dr.Wewei Xu, it was definitely an experience I always felt like I was never doing a good job for her since she will always yell at me and my colleagues. I would have endless days of crying because I felt like I was the problem. I kept questioning my work ethic but she is definitely the provider you do not want to work with nor do your externship here. I wish she would try to understand where we come from because you don't have to be rude in order to make us do our job. I had situations where I was blamed for doing things when I didn't do anything, The MA's there now are amazing staffs and they deserve a much more healthy and not toxic work environment. I hope she really changes her attitude towards her workers because she will end up with no MA's anymore. read more

If I could give a zero I would. She has dogs in her office which I would say is very unsanitary. She was the rudest doctor Ive ever had and she's very rude with the workers. She'll yell and verbally abuse the workers while infront of patients having no regard for the patients and workers uncomfort. Not a good place to be taken care of. read more

I don't write this to disparage Dr. Xu, but rather in the hope that she and her staff can use this constructive criticism to improve. I'll start with the positive: Dr. Xu did a number of tests to ensure that I didn't have bladder cancer. I appreciate that she wanted to rule out the possibility of cancer before considering any other diagnoses for an issue I was having. She was thorough in that regard. Where Dr. Xu is lacking is in her interpersonal skills and the professionalism of her staff, as well as her own. I've had appointments changed on me (sometimes without any explanation) at the last minute, inconveniencing me during very busy work weeks. When I was first referred to her, it took weeks of endless back and forth, with me as the middleman between her office and NorCal Imaging, trying to get Dr. Xu to send necessary information to NorCal for them to be able to schedule a CT scan. She's asked me strange questions not related to my health, and wait times are painfully long, only for her to speed through appointments as fast as possible. When going over lab results, she tends to just say that "everything looks good" and doesn't offer a deeper explanation of anything. My last two appointments with her were the last straw. I was scheduled for a check-in and waited 40 minutes in the waiting room and another 15 in the exam room, only to finally be told that I needed to leave a urine sample. I waited nearly an hour beyond my appointment time just to have someone finally enter the exam room and give me the cup, when I could've done my labs before coming in, like I normally would've. My name wasn't even on the cup. When I opened the recessed cabinet in the bathroom to leave the sample, there was someone else's cup in there too, also with no name on the label, which should've been removed as soon as they left their sample. What if I was some kind of nut and took it? And how were they differentiating between patients' samples with no names on the cups? I had to, embarrassingly, take a staff member to the cabinet and point out which sample was mine so they didn't mix them up when I left. I came back about a week later to go over the results, sitting through the usual 40+ minute wait beyond my appointment time; Dr. Xu finally came in, spent a whopping three minutes with me "going over the results." It started with her saying, "So your labs look good. Nothing unusual." The next thing out of her mouth was asking me where I live; I said Oakland, she nodded as though wanting more detail, I told her exactly where, and she asked, "Is it safe?" I said yeah, seems fine, and she goes, "Ok, well, be careful." I didn't waste nearly an hour waiting for her to sleepily saunter into the room to be questioned about where I've chosen to live. I also didn't appreciate the slight attitude in her voice when, as we walked out, she said, "And next time, do your labs before coming in so you don't have to have two appointments." Uh, yeah, I could've done that if I'd been given paperwork to take to Quest or Lab Corp by YOUR staff at the end of my last appointment however many months before. That never happened, so I had no idea she'd be asking for a urine sample when I came in the week prior. About a week after this visit, I got hit with two bills -- one for $175 -- from two different labs because the tests she ran on my sample couldn't be done at one facility. But I have no idea what she was testing for, because all I was told was that a urine sample was needed, and she never went into any detail when we went over the lab results. (I also wasn't provided with a copy of my lab results.) When I called her office after receiving the bills and asked her receptionist why the sample was sent to two different labs, the receptionist wasn't sure what Dr. Xu was testing for, even after reviewing the bills herself. She was only able to explain, generally, what the tests listed on the bills typically look for, but not what Dr. Xu was specifically looking for in my sample. After politely but firmly explaining my disapproval of the way the last two appointments were handled, I canceled the follow up appointment Dr. Xu scheduled -- for what reason she wanted me to come back, I don't know. Probably to pull the same act in perpetuity. I won't be returning to Dr. Xu and wish her well, but I'd rather find a more communicative, professional urologist in the Bay Area who will tell me what they're testing for, when they're expecting me to do labs, and won't stick me with surprise bills. read more

This is a very unprofessionally run office. My husband was scheduled with Dr. Xu after being admitted to Emergency and treated by this doctor at Eden Hospital. The first and ONLY visit involved waiting for an hour in a very crowded waiting room before being placed in another room awaiting Dr. Xu who eventually arrived wearing neither scrubs nor a lab coat and had a very distant and cold manner. We were given a list of instructions and future appointments from her assistant, with little personal contact from her. Also contact with them is very difficult as they rarely answer their phone. We cancelled our next visit online, but continued to receive calls reminding us of the next appointment! Even when leaving a message to cancel they still ignored it and called to say later the appointment was missed. Obviously they do not check their online messages. Also my husband was instructed to get certain tests done at his rehab facility, but later her office called and said this was not possible, and these should be done elsewhere. We have now found another normal Urology practice. So be aware if you choose to visit this doctor. read more

Dr Xu is an excellent Urologist who has helped me much more than the previous two doctors. She is compassionate, highly knowledgeable, and skilled in procedures ,in that there is minimal to no pain associated with them. Her staff is also friendly and competent. I highly recommend her! read more

If I can give the doctor zero stars, I would. Dr. Xu is horrible. How are you going to provide patient care in less than 2 minutes???? How are you going to give the patient the most informed information about their health in that less of a time. How is her business still active?? When I asked her questions about the x-Ray results, she opened the door and started walking out. When she turned around to answer my question, she prompted the door to be opened. That is a HIPPA violation with people walking back and forth down the hallway. The doctor needs to go back to the oath she said during her graduation when she promised to provide the best patient care and to put the patient first. There was nothing about providing patient care in those 2 minutes. If you want butchered treatment then go to her. read more

I can't really leave a review because when I went in today to go over test results, it was with someone from her staff who was just reading from a report and guessing at the meanings. I felt it was a wasted trip for me because I'm handicapped and it was difficult to get there. And I don't even have a copy of the report. I am going to write down my review very honestly here. The reason for writing this review is so that patients can be aware and the staffs here including Dr. Xu can change. My mom is diagnosed with IC (Interstitial Cytitis). She's been taking Elmiron which treats IC. Having no insurance covered, it was very difficult for us to maintain this drug that is specifically only used for IC patients. Elmiron can be obtained for $800~$1000 (orally: 30 capsules / 30 days). We were hoping to have my mom's IC examined thoroughly and find out more information on what other medical treatments could be performed to relieve my mom's pain since it's a rare disease. 1) We were scheduled at 4PM - We walked inside the doctor's office around 3:50pm, there was a patient who got done with his appointment and I heard him asking general/simple questions to the receptionist but the receptionist sounded as if she was easily irritated. I already sensed that she was not a friendly staff. 2) We went inside the room at 4:10PM. I know that doctors always run a few mins late but we had to wait for 35 mins and that's definitely not normal since they weren't busy at all. 3) Dr. Xu walked in at 4:45pm and I briefly explained about my mom's IC. I told her that my mom is taking Elmiron and if there is a way to be covered, she said "I don't think so but let's talk about that after". check up only lasted 3 min and Dr. Xu didn't take time or effort to explain any further than asking if it's a "UTI" with clueless questions. It was obvious to me that she had no knowledge about Interstitial Cystitis. She said she was going to perform Elmiron treatment and said things that we couldn't understand. So, I tried to ask her what she means by she will perform an Elmiron treatment on my mom when the Elmiron itself cannot be covered by insurance as she stated and it's $800-$1000? She said it's a different treatment that will be inserted from the bottom and hasted. Being clueless I asked the receptionist (Honestly, I have no clue who she is even til now, her position was very vague). I double checked about how Elmiron can be performed when it's not covered by insurance? She said that it will be inserted on the bottom. I asked, "Bottom? The Elmiron that my mom took is by oral" She was like, "?? What?? That's not supposed to be eaten!" She looked at me very funny and absurd. I was certain that the Elmiron that mom bought was to be taken orally. She got confused and quickly head over to the nurse and told her that my mom was taking Elmiron orally. The nurse came and scolded the receptionist that there are two types of Elmiron and the one we have is correct to be taken orally. Suddenly the nurse started to scold me, "Why didn't you tell Dr. Xu that your mom is prescribed with Elmiron?! You are suppose to tell the Doctor everything! You should've told Dr. Xu from the beginning!" I responded, "I did, I told her that my mom is on Elmiron but she didn't listen and skipped that part, what am I supposed to do? She also told me to ask the front desk about the Elmiron insurance coverage." The nurse stared at me speechlessly for a few seconds then she said she will ask Dr. Xu and will be right back. We waited inside for a few mins. The receptionist told us to hold while the nurse ask our questions. A few mins after the receptionist says, "It might take a moment so please have a seat". We waited for 10 mins then the receptionist says, "Dr.Xu just left for an operation appointment, you guys can leave." I doubt that she left b/c I saw her in the back. But the moment we heard "you guys can leave", that was a total mistreatment. Looking at my mom I wanted to break into tears. We were already extremely disappointed by the way how they treated us. At least if they had given us professional examinations then we don't have much to complain about but of course they didn't. I wonder how they can treat and boss patients around like that with the title of their given job. I just hope this place will learn from its mistakes and start treating patients seriously with some care at least. This is a review to advise anyone who is going through difficult times and pain or for your family members. This place is not the place that you will find hope or any encouragement rather it is an unreliable place that could totally make your symptoms worse by their unprofessional health care & treatment. They seriously have no clue what they are doing! I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to save future patients and visitors from wasting their time and hope. Trust me, don't waste your time here because they don't give a crap about you and your pain. I did wonder though, If becoming a urologist is that easy like Dr. Xu, I believe that anyone can become one but WAY better than Dr. Xu. My point is, please learn how to be professional. This last appointment was the last straw. We have been seeing Dr. Xu for about 8 months after my grandpa was referred for prostate inflammation. I am writing this review in hopes that she and her staff read the reviews if she really cares about her practice. I am a medical assistant myself and I understand what it's like to work at a busy clinic and know sometimes things can get hectic. But, I've never dealt with such horrible experiences at other clinics as a patient myself or at my previous jobs. The only positive thing I have to say is she was thorough in diagnosing my grandpa's prostate cancer. Dr. Xu is lacking professionalism as well as her staff. We've had appointments changed several times( more than twice) last minute with no explanation. With her staff always calling after hours at 7pm-9pm to confirm appointments. Her staff also need to be careful and pay attention when confirming appointments. I had an incident where they were confirming an appointment for a different patient and different procedure and wanted me to come in. If I didn't ask if my grandpa needed to do anything before hand they wouldn't have caught the mistake. What would have happened if I didn't ask? I'd shown up at their office early in the am and they would have said the appt was later or he would have had a different procedure done. In all honesty it goes against HIPPA violation to disclose other patients information. She ordered a PSA test August 19th. I took my grandpa to Quest to get it done and it turns out staff never sent the order!! I left several voicemails explaining to their staff and I never got a call back. Since I never got a call back I called them again until they answered. That's another thing every time I call the phone line always sounds busy so you have to get lucky so your call goes through. I explained they never sent the order and to have it faxed over please. A couple days passed and we returned to quest and the order was never faxed! We had to wait until the following visit to pick up the quest req. order form otherwise we would have never gotten the lab work done. During all the months we've been seeing her staff has never returned voicemails. 9/14- My grandpa went for a urine flow test and when going over the results she starts talking about a urolift procedure. My grandpa doesn't speak English and therefore I had to explain things to him. It's normal to ask questions and refuse a procedure at least I thought so. Apparently telling Dr. Xu "NO" is not enough. She told me my grandpa can speak for himself and answer himself. I didn't appreciate the tone and attitude in her voice. When she knows my grandpa doesn't speak English. I asked her a question about the procedure and she said, "watch the video". I don't think doctors who don't show professionalism or passion for what they do should be practicing. She never gives clear answers when asked about results or procedures. When doing video appts Dr. Xu only asked how my grandpa urine flow is doing and whether or not he needs more medication. How can you provide patient care in less than 5 minutes? I don't understand how her business is still active. In previous appt before the pandemic the wait times were extremely long. There were appts where the will be waiting 45+ min after the scheduled appt. For us just to be roomed and wait an extra 15-20 min before being seen and speeding through the appointments as fast as possible. If I could give 0 stars I would. Avoid at all costs. read more

I did not want to write and describe over doctor Xu 's behavior and attitude, however , I would feel sorry to all patients if I don't. My mom in law and me had been there 3 times during the treatment period , but every time we went in we felt always disappointed with her uninformed and always let her did different procedures and medication , since the information she provided is not clear enough and unprofessional, we rejected all up coming appointment . There are a long story which I hardly to express now , but base on people ( patients ) reviews , I am strongly believe it almost the same experience with this urologist . I would request the health care department or administrator officer will help to check her licensing whether she is qualify to be a real doctor or urology specialist !!! read more

AVOID AT ALL COST!! 1. The doctor doesn't take her time with you at all. The nurse did an ultrasound to make sure I was releasing all urine when using the restroom and when I saw the doctor she didn't go over the ultrasound results with me. She just prescribed a medication and sent me off. 2. I left a couple of messages for the staff and they never responded regarding the medication that was not covered through my insurance and I needed them to change it. 3. I had to physically go in to finally get the correct rx to be filled by my pharmacy. read more

In Feb. after having a CT Scan I was told I had kidney stones in both kidneys . I received a referral from my doctor so see Wei Wei Xu MD. I called as soon as I received the letter. The person who answered was rude and I felt like I was bothering her. She said the doctor wasn't there and she would have to look over my CT Scan and they would call be back to schedule a appointment. It's now April and I never got a call back. So I called today and was told they have a long list of new patients. She told me I couldn't be seen and to find another doctor. I told her I was in pain and she said sorry and hung up. After reading all the reviews it looked like I was lucky I didn't get a appointment. read more

Very disappointed. I was referred to Dr Xu because of constant UTI's and prostatitis. After a few visits and some urine flow tests (that I was sure was slow stream) she said that because I was 30 years old that there was nothing wrong and that it was all "in my head". After years of believing this, and treating my uti's with over the counter antibacterial medication (CystexPlus), it took my changing insurance to Kaiser so a Kaiser urologist can diagnose me with a urethral structure. The new doc at Kaiser dilated my structure through a cystoscopy procedure. Dr. Xu, maybe you should listen to your patients when they tell you something is wrong. You caused years of pain and suffering because of your poor judgment. read more

The absolute worst medical care I have ever experienced in my life. Dr. Xu looks nothing like her happy sweet pic on this site. In real life without filters, make-up and fuzzy flattering lighting she looks like a very unhappy, drab, unkempt hag with a lifetime of contempt in her eyes toward you. Her outside reflects who she is inside. She highly dislikes her patients, her staff, and humans in general. Inside, she hates you, outside barely able to pretend she doesn't. Her employee turn around is staggering and constant. I have witnessed her abuse to her staff and myself. Initially i came in as a referral from my primary who actually shares the same traits. I came in with a kidney tumor that burst one day that I never knew i had until it did burst causing me a gross hematuria which was very painful. My first visit with Xu was ok. Long wait time in stuffy stinky waiting room though i was 30 mis early as a courtesy I waited 1 hour n half. Then was placed in another room with 2 chairs n magazines. Just a 2nd bull room. Waited another 45 mins. What fun. Told very coldly in ER i might have cancer then forced to wait alone n ponder my mortality 2 and half hours on her extremely uncomfortable chairs. Her chairs are so bad you only feel the square wooden frame crammed up against your ass with no cushioning left in them. I tried to keep myself pleasant.....She seemed very calm and pleasant enough in first visit. I was very calm and pleasant too. I began to like her. I did not break down or lose my ---- at any time. I went with the flow. While i was getting ready to leave she put her hand on my shoulder out of the blue, looked me in the eye and said " Don't worry, I'm going to take care of you" it was very sweet and unexpected. She must have been in a good mood that day. After that came the hell. Her staff was unorganized. It took them 3 months to schedule a CT Scan across the street at Eden. I became this pawn in the middle of a dispute between Eden Radiology and Xu's staff. Both her staff and radiology put me on a carousel each claiming the radiology dept cannot reach Xu's office and Xu's office said they couldn't reach Edens radiology and that both were not getting back to the other with paperwork ...etc. Went on for 3 months! I was so depressed and worn out calling both sides i gave up and drowned myself in work. It was so surreal. Several months later I tried again. SAME THING OVER 3 MONTHS of her staff and radiology started up their circus again with me in the middle. Xu herself has truly done nothing more for me than set up bloodwork requests. She has never sat down and explained to me whats going n inside me, what could happen, or any type of useful info for me to understand my condition. She just tries to set up appts to get paid but i never leave knowing better or are better informed. She has continued to try and do this through the pandemic but i had CANCELLED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT FOR BLOODWORK ASSESSMENT IT WAS MERELY SO SHE COULD GET PAID. She recently, few days ago gave another lackluster performance via video visit. In which she refused to give me RX for medical grade Ibuprofen or Tylenol for my pain citing my primary should do it not her...???? SHES TREATING MY TUMOR I THOUGHT, NOT HIM! And she refused my request for disability forms. She is lazy and wants money for nothing. She then proceeded to be awkwardly quiet as she put notes in my record that i was non-compliant with appts and she discussed this with me. WHICH SHE DID NOT. Her staff has continually rescheduled my appts probably concealing it from her throughout the whole time. This year, i did cancel 2 appts because only benefit was for her to get paid and she wasn't needed so i cancelled online through Sutter Health - My Health online service but apparently neither she or her staff check the appointment section, but clearly use the rest of that online service app....So she ended up using the whole vid visit to create notes in my file stating, I always miss appointments/No show, I have been non compliant, missing appts, I am a shit patient and basically i deserve my cancer in so many words. I thought she was helping me while her keyboard was clacking away not speaking to me for 10 minutes. She has been nothing but a chitty kunte and Im done. There is no care or interest towards human life in her work. She just wants the money and will lazily book you bloodwork or other test appts opportunistically under the guise shes providing care for you. But will never explain the results. Thats ALL she ever did. CT's and bloodwork. NEVER EXPLAING RESULTS OF EITHER OR ANYTHING AT ALL. Is this healthcare in the modern world ?? Her poor employees suffer as well working for her. WORST DR. Went in for a interview and she was 15 minutes late. She was very unprofessional. She didn't introduce herself or anything however she did walk right in and ask me why was I looking for work? uuumm because I'm trying to survive duh. Then when she saw my starting/ ending pay rate at my last position she asked " Why did you get a raise"? I'm like because I am great at what I do and I get the work done and deliver excellent results!! ( wth!!) As quick as the interigation I mean interview ( lol) started it was over. She didn't tell me anything about the position, nothing. She said "send me three references" and opened the door for me to leave. Do not use this doctor. Her office people don't call you back. She was referred by Eden Hospital Emergency doctor. What a mistake. When we contacted her office for my husband urgent kidney stone issues, they never returned our calls. We left 3 voicemail and no one called us back. So I had to switch to another doctor cause we can't wait for her. After more than 14 days my husband finally had the surgery with another doctor. Her office finally returned my call after 3 weeks. Been seeing Doc Xu since last July 2017. Doc recommended Cooled ThermoTherapy procedure, short of surgery so, I had it done in September. I have to tell you, this procedure made all the difference in the world for me! I mean, it's been literally decades since I've had consistent sleep through the night without waking up to go to the bathroom. During the day, I don't have to go near as frequently either. It's especially reassuring during long drives to not have to go several times. The only thing I would recommend, as a troubleshooter in electronics, you learn as a troubleshooter in anything, be it car repair, computer, electronics, even a doctor is a troubleshooter of human health etc., to be a good listener. She seems more attentive during recent visits to focus on my questions. In the beginning, there was a staff member that didn't come across very polite however, she has gotten better at being polite. Visits seem to be a little longer to wait to be seen than in the beginning so, I don't know if it's more crowded schedules or not, at least I'm not having to go much while I wait. I am ecstatic with Doc Xu's recommendation to have received this Cooled ThermoTherapy in the office procedure, it has vastly improved my quality of life! --Michael L. read more

Rude receptionist calls me. i get attitude for trying to help solve THEIR problem. The reason the word "Provider" is used is because they provide a service to their customer. Customer experience is everything. Ever heard "the customer is always right"? This is how you get and RETAIN clients. So, they won't let me pay how i'd like to. What kind of place won't take your money because they're picky about how they receive it? They really want to have their cake and eat it too, which is indicated by their terrible rating- which by the way, I LOVE that they have a low rating. Why do i love it so much? In this day and age people find doctors by searching online. That means they can view ratings and pick doctors who are truly providers, and avoid doctors that only want to take from society rather than give. I hope they either change, or get thrown overboard with weights around their ankles. read more

If I could give Dr. Xu zero stars I would. The service in that office is horrible starting from the receptionists to Dr. Xu. Scheduling is horrible, I been there 3 times and every time she simply wants to see me again to go over my results but she has yet to tell us what is wrong. She is unclear with the results and doesn't give clear answers when asked. The three times I been in her office it never fails that the following appointment, they call and reschedule my appointment for one reason or another. The worst part is that they have the audacity to call a day before my appointment, knowing she been out of the office weeks before my appointment. read more

This review is based on recent experience of my friend. Dr Xu is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor he ever encountered. She was always late in the morning (his appointments were the earliest appointments in the morning), and every time she was impatient and wanted to end the session as soon as possible. One time, as the doctor attempted to leave the room again after seeing him for a few minutes, my friend asked Dr Xu to wait a minute as he wanted to know more details about the past examinations he did, Dr Xu responded "I feel uncomfortable talking to you as you appear aggressive", which was completely ridiculous. This doctor is disturbingly uninformative and unprofessional. Avoid this place! read more

After a CT scan revealed a renal mass, some research online informed me that I was facing an 80% chance of cancer, a statistic which was confirmed by my GP. I was referred to Dr. Weiwei Xu by my health provider as I am a medi-cal patient. I spent just a little over an hour in her office with her nursing staff before being seen by her, which is not an unusual wait, and her staff was very friendly and effective. I spent just a few minutes with Dr. Xu and in that time she seemed bored and was disturbingly uninformative. She had apparently viewed my CT image in another room and informed me that because of the location of the mass a partial nephrectomy was not a viable option and that she would be removing my entire kidney (but not in so many words). She unenthusiastically, but nevertheless proceeded to answer each of my questions to the best of her ability and did not recommend a biopsy due to what she believed was a 30% chance of a false negative. She then scheduled my surgery. I am new to this process, but several loved ones, some of which have gone through it before, suggested that it is a standard practice to get a second opinion in these matters and one recommended that I see someone at UCSF as they were helpful to them. My experience at UCSF was wildly different. The doctor came into the room and was extremely personable. She viewed the CT scan right next to me and showed me the mass, which was the first time I had seen it in the almost 2 months of visiting doctors since the original CT was taken. She explained to me that the false negative rate had actually dropped to about 5% recently but she concurred that there was no point in a biopsy as I am just going to have the mass removed anyway. She also explained to me that she would without a doubt be performing a partial nephrectomy and preserving close to 85% of my kidney to relieve the risks of living a possibly long life with only one kidney (I am 27 years old). She explained to me why she was likely going to be performing the surgery open rather than robotically (though she appeared to be struggling with the decision as it was a borderline case). She scheduled surgery and I immediately cancelled my surgery with Dr. Xu that was scheduled for just a week from then. Dr. Xu's staff was extremely helpful, and I am sure that Dr. Xu herself is a qualified surgeon and would probably have removed my kidney quite effectively - however her interpersonal skills leave a bit to be desired, she was not forthcoming with information that someone who is having a serious operation and is learning that they probably have cancer should understand, and she did not seem concerned with preserving as much renal function of a young patient as possible. From this day forth I will be a strong advocate of second opinions. I wish Dr. Xu the best on her practice and would like to thank her staff for being so kind and understanding, but I also hope that she continues to improve as a professional. read more

We came here for the first time about 25 min earlier than appointment time to ensure fast registration etc. but had to wait for about an hour just to be placed in the room to wait for md. There were obviously couple of people ahead of us, but receptionist didn't think to let us know about any delay in seeing the doctor . We spent little over 2 hrs waiting for md that never came and just decided to leave . There was no receptionist to notify about it either. Very inconsiderate of patients and their time read more

As a pregnant woman that recently experience kidney infection/stone pain, I came to Dr. Xu for a second opinion because the initial urologist that visited me at the hospital was preselected by my ob. I picked Dr. Xu based on some good reviews i found online, yelp, close to home and mainly because she is a woman but she was offended and questioned my choice to come see her. Also as others mentioned, she has no compassion and does not take the time with her patients. I felt that she is unprofessional, somewhat rude and her office operates as a factory. I was the first appt after lunch so I didn't have to wait long. She only spent no more than 10 mins with me and just when she was about to walk out then she remember to ask me if I had any other questions. I checked out and saw like 4 other patients in the waiting room. So after this experience I decided to stay with my original urologist. read more

This Doctor really needs to work on her customer service skills. I had an interview with her and she seemed to have racial profiled me. She was extremely rude.She made me felt like I was being interrogated more than interviewed. She needs to learn how to treat her patients and possible employees with respect and kindness.
