Welds on Wheels is a breath of fresh air compared to the usual headache that you get when trying to do odd jobs around the house. I had them perform two welding projects for me, and they did a great job on both: 1) fixing my front gate which had settled a bit and wouldn't close anymore (a couple of handymen / friends had already tried and failed), and 2) creating and welding an addition on my back gate to make it higher. Both times I was really surprised at how easy it was two deal with them. They have great customer service: I just emailed them a description of what I wanted done with a photo, they gave me an estimate of what it would cost, and then sent their mobile crew over a couple of days later to do the work. On the first project their estimate was $180-$300, depending upon exactly what they would need to do in order to fix the gate. Naturally, I assumed that with the way most house work goes the actual price would come in at $300. But it came in at $180, which never seems to happen. (And keep in mind, this was something that I had been trying to get fixed for months, to no avail.) On the second project their estimate was $380, and the actual price came in exactly at that number. However, they also noticed a couple of other fixes / improvements needed to the back gate which I wasn't aware of, and simply did those for free while they were there. Both times they just emailed me an invoice after the work was completed. They don't make you pay anything in advance - they only bill you afterwards once you're satisfied. Overall I couldn't be happier, and will definitely be calling them with any future welding needs. read more

This review is overdue! I've been meaning to write this for the past month, because Jerry and Welds on Wheels were simply great! I had 5 stainless steel barstools that I purchased a little over a year ago. My counter was taller than a counter stool, but shorter than a standard bar, so they were always a bit too high. Over time, it became apparent they were just too high to be comfortable. I called a couple custom metal work places that I thought could help....not sure why, but I never heard back. I'm guessing "shortening barstools" just wasn't the work they wanted to do. I was about to give up when I came across Welds on Wheels. It looked like their work was a little different, but I thought I'd give it a try. Jerry was extremely helpful. He was very knowledgeable, and with a simple photo, he was able to assess what needed to be done and explain it to me. Since I just bought the stools a year ago, I was a little nervous when I dropped them off, but Jerry clearly knew exactly what he was doing and they turned out great! And it was so fast. In addition to cutting and welding the stools back together, they needed to try to match the finish in the area to the brushed stainless of the rest of the barstool. They did it all in a week! I have a wrought iron railing on my front steps and one of the very front posts was rusting from the bottom and getting loose. I tried to fix it myself and it held up for a year or two but now I needed professional help. I didn't realize that not many companies want to handle repairs like this. They want big jobs only and to replace entire railings. Then I found Weld on Wheels on Yelp. I called and was asked to send picts of the problem because they were too busy at the time to send someone to just do an estimate. I got a speedy reply to my picts and was given a very reasonable quote for the work, I was asked for 1/2 down as a deposit, which I thought was fine considering how people change their minds these days. I was able to transfer funds using Zelle, so that went smoothly. I was given a tentative time frame and was texted this morning that they would be out today or tomorrow. Jerry and his crew came early this afternoon and replaced the post. They had to remove the old post, dig out the old foundation , pour new concrete, weld in the new post and prime & paint it. My HOA building had a 4 story metal staircase that was rusting. Before we could get a vendor to paint, we had to repair pieces that rusted all the way through. I contacted Welds on Wheels for a quote and Jerry was out the same day in the rain. He was very professional throughout the process and provided a quote that was competitive with other vendors. We ended up going with Jerry and Welds on Wheels because he gave me the confidence that he was a good guy to work with and would get it right. During the job, he and his team were very thorough while quickly completing the work. His team removed rusted pieces of the staircase railing, fabricated new pieces, welded them in place and primed the metal to protect it before the painters could arrive. He evened offered to come by after the painters finished to ensure the staircase drained properly to avoid future pieces from rusting internally. I wanted to work with Welds on Wheels based on the good reviews, but unfortunately my experience was pretty bad. I had 5 welding projects they quoted by sending me a text of what it would cost, without coming out. I had to ask what was actually included in the scope of work, and I received a vague description. When I asked about the details, they said they had to come out to see it. They adjusted the quote 4 times, and missed 2 items even after coming out and taking notes. Then they wanted half up front but would not perform the work for nearly 2 months. I asked if I could do a 20% deposit because I did not feel comfortable paying $1500 2 months in advance, and that is when Jerry said they would only do half the scope. I said fine and asked for an adjusted document. The next day, Kandy said they were too busy and wouldn't do the work. What a big waste of time! read more

Welds on Wheels was amaaaazing! We had specific needs for a rear gate that could provide added security to our home and could also block a small dog from getting out of our yard. Jerry and Kandy delivered beyond our expectations. They sent us photos of different gates with prices and we told them that we wanted a combination of two of the gates. Jerry forged and installed the gate himself and Kandy came back the following day to paint it black. In addition, they created a mini matching gate for the rear side of our yard and it also looks fantastic. Finally, they fixed our third gate and installed a better latch mechanism.
