I was reluctant at first until I came across a brochure for Suvida Healthcare in South Austin. After my first visit, I've never looked back and I don't regret it! The staff at Suvida are competent, efficient, professional, and personable. But the real gem is Dr. Angelica Contreras. My first visit I feeling down but Dr. Contreras gave direct eye contact and listened intently and made sagacious comments. I didn't feel rushed, I felt as if she really listened and not just hear me. By the end of my visit, I felt much better. I noticed she engaged and listened to my caregiver and started me on a new medicine, it seems to be working well. My subsequent visit was equally assuring. I'm beginning to believe that being 91 can have a silver lining. I am VERY PLEASED with Suvida Healthcare, I highly recommend them.

They were able to schedule us for the very next day. Rebecca at the front desk was incredibly kind and welcoming, and Erin, the RN, was just as compassionate and helpful. Since this was our first pregnancy and it was unplanned we had many concerns. We never felt judged or rushed. They made sure I felt safe, heard, and fully understood every option and every step of the process. During our first visit, they confirmed the pregnancy with a urine test and performed a vaginal ultrasound. It was quick, painless, and everything was explained clearly. We were given ultrasound pictures, prenatal vitamins, and a follow-up appointment since it was still very early and we hadn't heard back from our doctor yet. The facility was immaculate, and the care we received was beyond what we expected. We're over the moon that we found them and truly can't recommend TruCare enough.

My mom moved to the Enclave in Cedar Park in September 2021 at age 92. From the beginning the great…read morerestaurant dining that was promised by sales failed to materialize. The excuse given was the pandemic. The food was poor quality and residents frequently waited 30-45 to get waited on because there was not adequate wait staff. The tables are so crowded together (because the Enclave couldn't or wouldn't hire enough wait staff to open the other dining room) that it was dangerous for residents using walkers or scooters to navigate between them. Thank goodness my mom did not need any assistance in her apartment. She was mobile and able to take her own medications. There was CONSTANT turnover in all areas including management. We gave 30 day notice, moved Mom to Brookdale (wonderful!)in June and now are fighting for the 1/2 month refund we are due. The incompetence at this facility is truly unbelievable. Don't move your loved one here!

Six months later, they notified us that rent was going up 14%. This is the Austin market -- rent increases are a fact of life! But when your entire demographic is on a fixed income, raising the rent at all six months in, much less by more than ten percent, suggests a certain disregard for the types of decisions that families make for eldercare. Nobody ever likes rent increases and we've always been accustomed to getting one each year in previous facilities. But as the Enclave collects a tidy 'community fee' of $2,500 when you move in, they have incentive to turn rooms over. I quote the outgoing director: "While I hope (your dad) will be able to stay here, I certainly understand if a change is needed based on finances." In other words: We'd like somebody else's community fee. A shame, because the people on the ground doing the work are good and the facility charges otherwise pretty reasonable rates. It'd just be nice if they stuck to them for more than six months.

Both Elderhavens have a licensed nurse that is able to assist with some medications management and other medical needs. The heart of the program is the activities. From Arts and crafts, to Parties, to even karaoke. They are open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. They are very reasonable in their daily rate, but do require a minimum of two days per week. They do not allow for Drop in service. All new clients must first be admitted before they can begin to attend. They accept Medicaid and VA Benefits. The staff is friendly and is trained in Dementia and Alzheimer's care. This is a great resource to any family who is currently caregiving!

I find it to be a "Great Grand Place!!" The apartments and overall feeling of beautiful and well-designed buildings (and decor) are exceptionally well-done. It is very airy with a big open feeling. The food and service goes beyond what I expected. All staff are so kind and knowledgeable at Grand Living, and that could not be better for a new place now less than six-months being open. I visited Grand Living at the Grove in early February to schedule a tour for a potential new…read moreresident. The Sales staff and Executive Director were very helpful. The Grove is different than other luxury communities in that if a person moves into Independent Living and experiences a decline in health necessitating increased care (Assisted Living or Memory Care) the additional services come to the resident, and the resident does not have to relocate to a new apartment in Assisted Living or Memory Care. This is a very nice accommodation! Also, the Grove employs their own "Nursing Staff" who can attend to residents when there is a fall, skin tear, etc. The resident does not have to go to the doctor or an ER to get checked out. The nursing staff comes to see the resident in their apartment. The Grove is centrally located in Austin and has several restaurants within walking distance of the community. The streets are well-lit, and the sidewalks are new and wide enough to accommodate individuals who use walkers or wheelchairs and there seems to be plenty of parking. Many more pluses in the services offered in this community. Well worth stopping by to see if this community is fit for your family member or loved one.
