As a Napa Valley Chauffeur of 20+ years ... I know the importance of establishing relationships and shining a light on others that do their jobs well !!! Eli and Maria and staff here were extremely personable and accommodating ! My ladies didn't plan well and needed a back up plan ... while they were at their first venue I came down and spoke with Eli and Maria and they assured me they could provide my ladies a very good experience ! THEY DID ! one of my clients owns a winery in Washington State and was definitely looking for a great experience ! I highly recommend you get by here for some old growth vines. Eli is incredibly knowledgeable & Maria runs the tasting room well ! Tell them your Chauffeur Peter recommended you ! CHEERS !!!

Was a wine cub member here 15 years ago and wrote a Yelp review then, which mysteriously has disappeared. Wellington is now owned by VJB wines in nearby Kenwood. Attended the Friday night pizza and wine dinner on the patio. Lots of food and drink for cheap if you choose the suggested menu. Pizza truck is Red Rooster Brick oven. 12" Pepperoni pizza is $15 and the vin de campagna red blend is $20. If you decide to upgrade the pizza to a fancier combo that costs $28. The alternate wine selection by the bottle is big and prices range from $48 - $90. Ouch! Our visit was on a July 100 degree evening. There is a large tent canopy over the patio, but it's a large concrete pad so be aware that the heat can still be overwhelming. After 40 minutes we were heat exhausted and had to run home to get cool. Good food, good wine. I'll happily return again, after the hot weather season has passed.

Maybe the best value tasting in Napa or Sonoma? For $45 you get a nice private tasting on the property's olive groves complete with a lovely charcuterie board. The wines themselves are decent but not mind-blowing. Fortunately their prices are equally not that bad. In a location where you can easily spend $250 for a wine that gets 95+ points, finding good quality reds from a boutique producer for sub $60 isn't too bad. We couldn't try their Cabernet because it was sold out. That's unfortunate. Usually most producers will still reserve some bottles for tastings. The wine I liked the best was the cab heavy left bank Bordeaux blend, Il Patrone. We were served 6 wines, then we went inside to make some purchases and they hooked us up with a Petite Syrah and the "Late Harvest Chardonnay", Basically a dessert wine. Both were excellent. My suggestion is to do the reserve tasting then after, do what we did if you intend to purchase some bottles and go into the regular tasting room. Ask if there's anything else open you can try. The staff here was great. Our pourer was very nice, and while not super super knowledgable about wine, she was friendly and helpful. I appreciate that over someone pretending to know things that they don't. Don't forget to tip your pourer! I'm sure I'll be back at some point.

Our final stop on our wine tour brought us to Wellington. We were greeted and brought to a table in the shade near the vineyard. It felt more like a parking lot but they were doing a ton of construction on their building, so I would believe that's why the setup wasn't ideal. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and he took great care of us. They let us roam the property and watch the harvest work that was being completed. We tasted a few grapes and tried a few samples. The property looks like it'll be great when the construction is done but there wasn't anything for us to really check out today. Even the bathrooms were in a portable trailer, which wasn't great.

So sweet!! Happy Anniversary on the menu!

We loved every bottle we tried!!! We had the most fabulous day!! Private tour due to not being completely open yet. Matt was fabulous and we can't say thank you enough!! This was by far the best wine experience we have had. Good friends, laughter and literally every bottle was spectacular!! The Granache, port, Campagne, And Sauvignon Blanc!! I am usually not a wine drinker but the designated driver because not that big of a fan!! But here I had some small sips and I bought my first bottles of wine that I do not want to share!! LOL the Port is amazing! No syrupy refreshing!! The blanc next to the pool with some shrimp and fish!!! So refreshing! Vines from 1886, 1912, 1924! Beautiful vines that you can see by their width they are the mother wines and very old! We were treated like royalty and will definitely be back!! It was literally a perfect day!!

I don't want to be dramatic but this is LITERALLY the best winery I have ever been to in my life. We came here on a wine tour bachelorette party and were blown away by the picture-perfect setting. We arrived to find a table set up for us outside amidst fields of grapevines and said "ARE WE IN A MOVIE!?" Then our tasting menus were personalized for our sweet bride! HOW CUTE, RIGHT!?! But it gets better - by far and above the charm of our visit to Wellington Cellars was sweet Laura-Li. She was charming, she was kind, she was funny, and to quote TikTok "the girls that get it, get it. The girls that don't, don't." Laura-Li is a girl that GETS IT. Her vibes matched our vibes exquisitely. We tasted wine, we enjoyed charcuterie, we laughed, we had photoshoots, and we celebrate a beautiful bride to be in the most perfect of ways. Thank you Wellington Cellars, for helping us celebrate and for welcoming us on our tour stop! Would absolutely recommend this location for any group celebration.

What a hidden gem. We spent the morning at Jack London Park, hit up Wellington and headed back to the park. We did the VIP tasting in the vineyard. Beau was great, knowledgeable and on point. We even had a third guest for the experience, the resident dog Phoenix. They have several old sections of vines, the oldest was planted in 1882.

Had the most incredible time at Wellington. We were greeted and walked out to a beautiful table in the olive grove with personalized tasting menus to celebrate a birthday. Immediate we felt excited for our tasting. We were hosted by Maria, who thoroughly explained the wine making process at Wellington and took us through a tour of the winery. She offered us multiple times to move indoors in case we got hot. The water was constantly being refilled without asking and our wine glasses were never empty long. We enjoyed our trip to Wellington Cellars so much that two of us joined. The icing on the cake was when we received a hand written card from Maria thanking us for joining her at Wellington Cellars. The wine is so good, the tasting room is beautiful and the staff makes you feel like family. What more could you ask for?! Happy to be a member at Wellington.

What a hidden gem. We were going to another winery but it was closed for a private event so we accidentally ended up at Wellington winery. This visit ended up to be the best stop out of all other wineries we visited. They have excellent wine. Great stories. Personal approach to their customers. We even got a free tour of the facilities and learned a lot about wine making process. The tasting of 5 wines is $20. They poured few extra wine tasting in addition. The wine was so good that we bought 4 bottles and our $40 tasting fees were waived. 2016 Vin de champagne ended up to be my favorite one. We would highly recommend this winery to visit

Having our casual flight in the sun close to the barrels! Mmmmm.

WOW! More than a decade ago I had tasted at a small family vineyard just up the road from Loxton and I talked about the vines they had and how they came about them for years to follow but couldn't for the life of me remember the name. Fast forward to a week ago when I was taking a trip out from Austin to Sonoma for a girl trip and I told them I MUST find that little vineyard again. When I looked on the map, I saw Wellington was just up the road from Loxton and just knew that sounded familiar and MUST be THE ONE! Alas, as we drove past Loxton, I said "oh no! this isn't it because it was a little barn and not that stone building". But then, I saw them... The OLD VINES!!! My gut told me this was the place. Voila! They have been building all these new spaces and the grounds are just lovely! Somehow they still have the charm of the little barn and the WINE????? Exquisite. Our guy pouring the tastings was delightful and had me signed up for a membership after the first pour and his update on all things new with Wellington. Love this little place.

Didn't have one when we went, but it was a Friday. It is a small place, so maybe a good idea for the weekend.

Our server, Patrick, was personable, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond. He gave us a great understanding of the history of the family winery as well as the nuances of the various wines. He never made us feel rushed, and we enjoyed sitting outside, taking in the beautiful views--and watching the tractor tours pass by--while we tasted. Patrick even shared side-by-side trios of Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons to highlight differences in winemaking methods, vineyard sites, and soils, which made for a particularly interesting and educational tasting experience. In fact, it was every bit as informative and enjoyable as other tasting experiences we've had that were far more expensive, more formal, and required advance reservations.    The tasting room also features a wonderful selection of gifts and specialty items. By the end of our visit, we left with three bottles of wine (2025 Frank Johnson Sauv Blanc and two 2022 Three Blocks Cab Sauvs) along with several gifts and mementos. Benziger has a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and is both kid and pet-friendly. We also stopped by their sister winery, Imagery, afterward and found it to be another Sonoma gem. We wouldn't hesitate to return to either.

Ok. Noted. Now we are with Gerardo... He tells us we "get to" taste these wines and we ask for the white burgundy skipping the viognier. Other clients are tasting the sparkling which we just got an email about so we ask and he says we are getting an extra pour. Ummm we'd like to try before we buy is that a crazy expectation? And so we continue on. Meanwhile the other bartenderis offering other people side by side of the barbera and the upper ridge barbera to taste what they like...not us. When I commented that I do enjoy French champagne he said it's made in the same style and he has a bottle at home that he might drink for New Year's. Ok cool. He had zero wine knowledge. Didn't tell us much about the wines. And wanted us to purchase but was limiting our tastes and experience. Another couple arrived who noticed an error on their invoice and he could t figure out how to correct it and had to enlist the help of someone else. The final straw was we asked to taste the rose and he said it's not open today but then we saw other folks try it from the same fridge. Very odd. Didn't feel like there was a benefit to being in the club. He closed with telling us he needs to go to lunch so what are we buying? I've been here many times before and enjoyed the patio and the inside table with the fireplace and cute gift options. Today he made me question whether I would return. I don't think that the wine industry is doing really well so an experience like this is very off putting.

He was knowledgeable about the wine and the property. He guided us through the wine caves, which was lovely. I appreciated the personal attention, but it became a bit uncomfortable as the staff member sat with us between pourings. I would have liked the option to take our time drinking the wines, but I felt uncomfortable and slightly rushed as this person sat with us and did not always speak te whole time. We did arrive 30 minutes late due to the Tock app (reservation app) guiding us to the wrong location. We called Hamel to notify them and the person said they would wait for us, but I detected a bit of a tone. I also emailed Tock, which they responded quickly but basically said that they investigated it and it was basically an issue on Apple's side of things. No acknowledge of the inconvenience this had on me and my husband. We did receive a very tasty appetizer made by their world-renowned chef, but the wine fell short in my opinion. It seemed a bit watered down with little flavor overall. The wine is very expensive along with the wine tasting. Ultimately, I think you're paying for the view, experience and the cost of those new buildings.
