Came here for a work physical. The receptionist was very nice and understanding however I made an 8am appt and was waiting 40 minutes before I decided to leave (I had places to be by 8:45). I came back in the afternoon thankfully the receptionist was kind and kept my name and records on the list so it was easier when I came back! When I'm finally called back we do the basic routine and the nurse leaves. All I hear is complaining about how me leaving and coming back messed up some sort of NPM or whatever score/metric for the day. I went to the Urgent Care on March 26, 2025. It was busy & a long wait that night but the service was fine upon being seen. My issue is payment. It was $180.00 to be paid up front to be seen & then they would bill my insurance company. Two months later I checked with my insurance company and they had received nothing. The insurance called Well Now & an incorrect number/code was sent. It was to be reprocessed. I called Aug 13, 2025 to Well Now & transferred to the claims dept. I was told it would be processed & was given a "ticket" number. I called the insurance today, 8/15/25 & the system is down. I called Well Now Claims and was told insurance was paid & my refund processed 8/14/25. The claims dept employee would not acknowledge that I would not be getting a refund had I not pursued the inquiry. Well over $100 is due to me. Be persistent in being reimbursed people!! read more

Spent almost 2 hours here. The lady that took me back was obviously irritated, impatient and unprofessional. and then the doctor never told us to head out. sat in the exam room for an hour. After we got impatient and asked, they did not give a note and was confused that we didn't just leave the office? Wasted my time. Woodbridge is quicker and that is saying alot. read more

I stopped in because I was having severe jaw and ear pain. I came here because my primary care physician had no openings. I voiced my concerns about thinking I had an ear infection, but wasn't sure if it was TMJ pain either. The nurse practitioner checked one ear and said I had no ear infection and said to contact my dentist for jaw pain. The next day I returned to my primary care physician because I was so frustrated. Turns out I had a DOUBLE ear infection. Do not go here if you want answers. read more

WellNow is a double edged sword. Even though it's walk in and they do appts as well, I've never had to wait long. Turnover rate of office staff high. Can't imagine what they deal with. So be prepared to maybe deal with someone who doesn't know what they're doing. They made me pay a random 80 dollars cause they wouldn't believe me my deductible was hit. This happened 3 times! I finally had my insurance company wrote an email saying that I had met deductible. Doctors seem either travel hires or work there often. One told me it's better money then ER. Why do ER doctors make so little and I know why the Well Now docs make good money. Used to be 175 if you paid in cash. Now it's astronomical. 450 I believe and 50 more for holidays and weekends. They kind of saved my life a year ago by kicking me out and saying I was going to die if I didn't go to ER. If you have amazing insurance and can actually advocate for yourself, it's great. They actually listen and seem so much less stressed than doctors anywhere else. If you go in with vague symptoms, don't expect much. They're not your pcp. They will send out tests but are hesitant now for some reason and that's disappointing. If you get anything "extra" ie Covid test, strep test, etc. Expect it to be 100 a pop. One time I got a 800 dollar bill from old lab they used. They didn't even run the ordered culture but tested me for weird stuff like Staph?? That lab totally took advantage of their patients with good insurance. Now they use Quest I believe. I think they push severe cases to top. As they should. If I go there, I'm probably hours from Sepsis. Don't want to become frequent flyer. Dr. Amber is legitimate and friendly while taking your issues seriously. Hopefully shell stick around. All in all, slushies are very comforting while waiting. Don't expect much from front desk. They always claim "computer won't let them" and it's most likely not their fault read more

I have been suffering from a bad head cold going on three days and drove to the Niagara Falls Boulevard location so I could get tested for Covid and/or the flue. Walked in, filled out the forms (digital) and waited for my turn. After 40 minutes, and knowing that there were still seven people ahead of me and knowing that only three others were called in during this 40 minutes, I walked to the desk and asked how many providers are there and was told just one. I cancelled my appointment and went home. Also, there were two people yapping on their phones in the waiting area and much giggling going on behind the desk, I had had enough. I'd rather go back home and rest in quiet surroundings rather than wait for Wellnow to call me in as well as listening to yapping and giggling. I get that the work environment should be upbeat and happy but having the folks behind the desk giggling nonstop to me is very unprofessional. The giggling duo should have also asked the two yappers in the waiting area to stop using their phones as to not disturb the others. May as well call this place non-urgent care because there is no urgency with this place. I'll sit home, rest, and relax and wait for the cold? flu? Covid? to run it's course. Urgent care? A friend highly recommended them. Receptionist not efficient in directions to filling out paperwork. Did not explain what forms were for signing, scanned quickly to signature. P.A. Did not examine for reason I was there. Said report and images would be sent to my primary care provider. Never asked for my provider's name. Person taking history missed 2 medications. Difficult to read summary, as 1 run on sentence covering different topics. Called next morning for report and images to be sent...took 4 calls. Hospital ER, May have taken longer, but more efficient...PCP would have info needed immediately, with less stress. 1 star is too high for them. read more

Waited 45 min. to get into a room, then another 1/2 hr. minimum. Was finally told it would be a VIDEO APPOINTMENT. The woman on the video did not identify herself by name, position, etc. Asked a few questions that were vague (I identified that I had UTI symptoms upon check-in & insisted on giving a urine sample) & irrelevant, was mumbling, asked if I'd had a UTI before (I'm a 70yo female, how could I NOT have?). The urine sample was positive, for God's sake! It was the worst exam I've had in my long life. Will wait the 3 hrs. at the ER rather than get incompetence like this again. I want to leave a wonderful testimony for Makhenzy Flanagen and Amy. My wife and I , who live in Tennessee, were visiting our daughter and family when she came down with a stomach virus. After putting off the inevitable all day, we came to their clinic on Centre Ave in Portage Michigan. It was practically closing time and Makhenzy was so sweet and compassionate in getting my wife checked in quickly and seen by Amy. They were all so very friendly and made us feel like family. I had orders for a physical, drug screen, and labs from my job to be done here. I had an appointment for 445pm did all of my paperwork and then at 530pm the receptionist told me they don't do labs past 4pm. So I had my job send me new paperwork and made an appointment next day for 3pm. Then I got an email the day of my new appt from Sara the receptionist stating that actually they don't do labs past 3pm and that the person responsible for drawing labs "doesn't feel comfortable" doing them. Sara the receptionist then hung up the phone on me. Totally unprofessional place and I wouldn't recommend them at all. read more

if I could go negative stars I would. They sent me to collections for a $30 copay I payed the same day of my visit. the receptionist was nice but the whole experience was AWFUL. Went in to see if they could do anything, other than a flush, to help out my ear pain. they said my only option was to do a flush, so I said whatever let's try it. I ended up leaving there in WAY more pain than I came in with. I had to drive 3 hours to the other side of the state to go to a real doctor who got me out of the office in less than 15 minutes. ON TOP OF ALL THIS, the $30 copay I PAYED the day of my visit, GOT SENT TO COLLECTIONS! I paid it same day of the visit, I have the credit card charge to show it, but I kept getting bills in the mail. so I took those in and the receptionist said she marked it as paid because of my charge receipt and don't worry about the bill. just got a call from a damn collection agency that I owe em 30 fucking dollars. if I knew this was all gonna happen I would've paid it a second time to not deal with it. fuck this place read more

So slow. From check in until I walked out was over 3 hours for a physical. Only 2 people in the lobby at the time I arrived.

We went to a Wellnow location down the road, they told us they were closing and sent us here. We were told we needed to complete a form. We did. When we went to return it, the receptionist put up a sign that said she'd be back in a half hour. We then checked in online using a kiosk and the tracker said we'd wait between 16-30 minutes. We watched it count down til it was 0-15 minutes. It stayed there for over a half an hour then reset back to 20-40 minutes. When the receptionist returned my 86 year old father complained. She said she didn't really even work here. This is NOT a place to come for URGENT care. read more

A miracle happened when I found a last minute appointment here, 45 minutes away from home. I managed to get sign-up for one online when my partner could not. When I told them our situation, they took us both anyways! Rory and Tonya are the best! I know it's a lot to see so many patients in a day for Covid-19 testing, especially while understaffed. So friendly, down-to-earth, welcoming, and kind. So surprising when you feel comforted during times like these. Will come back again in a heartbeat. read more

Horrible, horrible service. We waited for over an hour and the doctor spent less than a minute with us. The staff was rude and was making sexually inappropriate jokes while they ordered lunch. I've been in customer service for 15 years and haven't heard this degree is unprofessional behavior in my life. Once we got to the pharmacy we found out they hadn't even sent over the prescription yet, even though the doctor assured us the paperwork was already over and Walgreens (which is great, the staff there helped me out with over the counter meds) was working on it. Restaurants and any businesses in the area, if they care about their employees should not send their staff here for burns etc. to say the least. read more

My husband went to the Hometown Urgent Care in Portage, Mi with extreme pain in his ears And sudden weight loss. They diagnosed him with a sinus infection and gave him a prescription for it. I had been out of town and when I returned I realized he was very, very sick. I stopped in to see if they could refer him to an ENT. They refused and I ended up getting him an appointment to an ENT. Long story short, he had stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma and died 3 months later. The medical director of that place called me back and apologized for the misdiagnosis. He also said it was a "learning experience" for them. Yes, for me too. I learned that they are incompetent. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! this is by far the most sorry excuse of a health center. I had to wait 45 minutes. which I dont mind and totally understand. I had a very nice nurse in the beginning, who didn't seem too experienced. These small things I am more than willing to accept. The thing I will not stand for is the doctor, who was totally unprofessional, misdiagnosed me with no tests to prove it. When I said that I don't believe that could be the case and I feel like it's something different, the doctor just shook me off and didn't even budge on an answer. My doctor from back home correctly diagnosed me over the phone without even seeing me,reading me to believe the doctor at this urgent care is unqualified or just uninterested in patients. read more

How busy an urgent care place is involves luck and we got lucky. No wait at all for our son who needed stitches after a bicycle accident. The front desk was very friendly, as was the nurse, and the doctor (PAC). We were treated great and our son was stitched up and out the door in about 45 minutes. For run-of-the-mill urgency this is as good as it gets. At least that was our experience. read more

Visited the Portage, MI Hometown Urgent Care with my son today. He needed a sports physical this afternoon. I had scheduled an appointment with his regular physician, but was told by the athletic director that he would not be permitted to try out for lacrosse today and would not be permitted to practice until the physical was on file. Being a little frantic and concerned he would miss an opportunity, I chose to take him to Hometown. The staff were caring and understanding of our predicament. We did have a bit of a wait, but were told that up front. I was expecting this to be an expensive visit, but it was only $25. I am so happy we chose Hometown! My son was able to participate in try outs and this was worth the wait! I give the staff 5 stars! read more

After waiting for two hours on a day where there were only ever three other patients in the waiting room with me, I still haven't been seen, only moved to an exam room for another 45 minutes. I'm told I can't even leave the door open while I wait due to privacy concerns, despite the fact that I can hear every word spoken in the adjacent rooms and hallways. Zero customer-service skills, zero sense of urgency, definitely more than zero staff members shambling aimlessly in the corridors leisurely drinking their Pepsis and hoping I don't open the door again to call them on it. read more
