Last summer I went for my routines and they insisted that I needed a special dental xray series. I told them that I had them done 2 years previously to remove a vertically broken rear tooth and had to see a specialist in Norwich because I have AFIB and am on Eliquis to prevent blood clotting. Delta Dental informed me when I called that they only cover this special testing every 4 years. I told the Killingly people this repeatedly because I am a 73 yr old senior, retired and on a fixed income and wanted no additional costs for care. I have no dental issues now and had none since the broken tooth years ago. There was no reason for this additional test. They assured me there would be no costs to me but when I was leaving the office they told me I had a co-pay due. I told them I never had a co-pay for check-up and cleaning so they needed to straighten out the problem with Delta Dental. Since that time Killingly dental has repeated harrassed me with texts and emails and when I called them I was never permitted to speak with billing so I left messages repeatedly. Noone ever bothered to call me and talk to me. until this week. They repeatedly bombarded me with bills in email and text by third party collections. So I had my records transferred to my new dentist and Killingly THEN put a charge of $145 on my debit card. and miraculously I was able to be connected to the Billing 'manager' . She proceeded to blame Delta Dental and refused to give me back my money. She also told me she would be emailing me the Delta Dental info she had. SHE NEVER DID. I told her I would be notifying all of Eastern CT via YELP, Next Door,Facebook, GoogleReview and others. They had hundreds of thousands of dollars to renovate their facility, make it sooo pretty and to increase the number of patients to make more DOLLARS. Beware they only want your money.

They got me in right away and I was welcomed as though I've been a patient there for years! I figured my dental work would've taken a couple of visits but to my surprise he did the procedure on the spot! To my amazement the work done on my chipped front teeth was awesome! Now I can smile in public again and have that confident feeling I missed the last couple of years. I want to thank Dr. Sheffield and the staff at Kimbal Sheffield DDS for a pleasant experience! In the day and age we live in, it's hard to come across that sometimes. I look forward to keeping up with my dental needs now that I have had a great visit.

I was asked to cancel all other appts with other places so they could not have any problems billing, then they cancelled all the appts I had and rescheduled for 6 months down the road, I still am waiting on those appts to be made up and the problems I am having today I wouldnt if I'd never changed dentists. I went in on Monday cause I broke a tooth. When the young indian women walked in she proceeded to stick a needle into my gums w/o any topical numbing, I yelled wait a sec and asked about it, her reply was do you want it?? Hy I want it!! Who wants a needle stick w/o it?? She then went to start fillings on me and I said im here for a broken tooth! She had no idea, totally clueless, she looked at broken tooth and said its fine, nothing I can do for it she said and proceeded to do a filling on me. Well 1 and a half hours into this procedure she says I need to take a break and get another set of eyes on this and she walked away leaving me there with my mouth open with that plastic sucking apparatus in my mouth. Well I have never had a panic attack in my life but that's exactly what happened, after 3 hours in this chair with my mouth open, this woman who I doubt even has the credentials to be operating in my mouth I freaked out, jumped up tore everything out of my mouth while she was yelling dont move youre going to swallow it, she reaches into my mouth and proceeds to take out like 10 little metal bars and god knows what else, finally I get clear of all of it and I say, no I plead that I cannot do it any longer. She then tells me that she's almost done. How much longer I say, 15 minutes her reply comes and I say I just cannot lay there any longer youre going to have to finish with me sitting up, that was the only way I coukd think that I could take anymore. So while im sitting there it was another 20-30 minutes to finish. I am TRAUMATIZED!! I legit am scared to death of dentists now!! The level if unprofessionalism that was displayed by this dentist this day was palpable. Every person in that office i could feel it in their eyes when I got up from that chair. Their eyes said, "poor guy", when I called into the office to lodge a complaint I asked about this and was told that yes they were all looking at me because it was taking so long. I was peppered with apologies from their receptionists and when I asked to speak to the person who runs this dime operation I have been ignored, brushed off and treated like I do not matter which I think makes me the most mad in this whole thing, oh except this...after all of that the filling that dentist did is loose. I went to see another dentist today and they showed me the x-rays of my teeth and the tooth she filled actually needed a root canal and crown and she didn't even drill and get rid of all the decay in the tooth and there is a pocket of air between the filling and tooth!! Hence the loose filling. I have never, ever, EVER had such a bad experience in my entire life. This has left me doubting every dentist going forward and has given me some kind of phobia. I truly hope that karma catches up to these people!! Do not use this business please people, your teeth will thank you!
