This Wells Fargo location deserves some serious recognition! I stopped by shortly after they opened this morning because I needed assistance sending a wire that exceeded the online transfer limit. As soon as I walked in, although it's a bit empty, the team member managing the lobby immediately found someone who could help upon request. I really appreciated how quickly and smoothly everything was handled. Julia Lopez was phenomenal from start to finish. She explained every step of the wire process clearly, handled everything professionally, and was incredibly patient throughout the appointment. What impressed me most was that she went above and beyond the immediate request. She took the time to understand my current banking needs, anticipated a concern I had about account fees, and proactively helped me restructure my accounts in a way that made much more sense for my situation. I walked in expecting help with a wire and left with both the wire completed and a much better account setup. Julia was knowledgeable, thoughtful, efficient, and genuinely focused on helping me--not just completing a transaction. Excellent service all around. I wasn't a fan of this branch before and almost closed my Wells Fargo account after 30 years, but after the new Branch Mgr/VP FOONG TEOH took over this branch, the experience has completely changed. FOONG is exceptional at customer service, and by that I mean he isn't the fake sales-y type. Instead, if you have problems or unique situations he knows how to address and solve them. He went the extra mile to help me deal with an international banking issue, and never exerted the 'I'm a VP and above that' vibe. The most incompetent bank staff ever at a financial institution and the epitome of why I WILL NEVER ever bank with Wells Fargo again. I walk in WITHOUT CASH, to do a cash advance into someone's account. Now my bank, Chase, has not accepted cash for a deposit unless you are a member of the bank yourself. Knowing this about my bank I assumed this for most. I explain to the teller when I arrive that I need to do a cash advance from this card into this account, (placing my phone down in front of her with the acct #), she then asks, "How would you like the cash?" "Ugh! In this account." I'm sorry but we can't deposit cash, I interrupt and tell her I know that's why I didn't bring cash and that why I said what I said. She then tries lying to management saying that's not what I said. Well let's check the cameras and see if I didn't walk in and place my cell phone down facing her and putting with direction. Manager tries telling me that "I can pay" for a cashiers check from there mistake. Wow! Funny! Needless to say they credited me the cashiers check. This bank is worst by far bank i ever went to! I took money and deposited straight cash to my account it took 24 hours to show in my account. I applied for credit card now its fourth week of the application but they still required 2 more documents!!! They should have asked me at the beginning! I submitted all required documents on time and it took them 3 days to say the copy was not right. Then submitted again it then they said it's gonna take 24 hours and it took 1 week. Somebody interviewed me one day for my application. Then after 7 day they even didnt know that i was interviewed before. Nobody works in that lame place! I worked with Matthew Solis twice and he is very helpful! First, I was impressed that he remembered my face, because I had totally forgotten his. I couldn't have interacted him more than 30 minutes the first time, and he must see a lot of people. He takes time, is completely not rushed, even though it was probably his lunch time. He also gave me a lot of information that he thought would be helpful to me, even though it wasn't what I had originally came in for. Sometimes banking options can be confusing and you don't know what is right for you but he was able to walk me through everything. He explains very well such that I was able to understand. I also heard him talking to someone who sounded like they had a negative experience about something, and he was very calm and listened to everything that they said. That is important in customer service. Then after he was finished with that person, that's when he approached me, as if nothing had happened. As I also work with customers, I know how difficult it can be - that hearing someone complain can bring you down and that you may bring that negative energy to the next customer. Left my debit card at home when I went to deposit my check; I had to go inside. Past experiences at different branches were too variable and I've been avoiding going inside to avoid repeating the more negative experiences (e.g. unsociable, inept behavior). Imagine my surprise when I encountered one of the best customer service I've received from a brick and mortar bank. I am remorseful that I cannot recall everyone I had the pleasure of talking to, but I will attribute my significantly positive opinion of this branch to Ricardo V. What a homie. What was supposed to be a routine check deposit turned into a hassle-free upgrade to Preferred Checking when the tellers noticed I was still using a College Checking account. While I cannot attest to the other functions performed by this bank, if my experience today is any indicator of those other functions, then this branch has secured my continued business. read more

For some reasons, some tellers were seemed pretty clumsy when handling my check deposit such as they always needed to proceed my deposit by asking an elder lady come for the assistance; despite that fact, could be 5 stars rated on my review, if my banker Jonathan Chan still there, I have opened some accounts from him, and he took really good care of it, but for some reason he got let go, and that's a big disappointment for us. i will sooner or later close my wells fargo accounts from this branch and re-open elsewhere he works at. Come on, you guys need some Chinese bankers here, Millbrae is almost like a Chinatown, how can you keep your clients without having someone who can speak to the Chinese only client? this is the worst bank ive ever been to my entire life‼ honestly i wouldnt even give it a star. i came one morning and i was cashing my check (mind you i didnt even have cash on me) with a guy at one of the stations and he gave me my money i put it in my wallet took the reciept and i left. i went to go put in gas down the next block over and i went in took a $20 bill handed it to the lady and she took it, she felt it and said "sorry i cant take this its fake!" i was so shocked because i just got it from the bank. i took it back and i felt it and it did seem fake. i told her "im sorry i just got this cash from the bank down the street" i left and i went back into the bank and i complained and they felt all the cash and 2 of the $20 bills were fake. they said "im sorry we cant give you back your money because we dont know if you must've took it and just put it in, once you walk out we cant do anything about it. and our money runs through the machines to find if there are any fake money. sorry" i was going to complain and file something but i had no evidence, i asked them before i left to give me back the fake bills and they said they couldnt. if i had the bills it couldve been my proof. this is the worst bank ive ever been to‼ read more

Unless you enjoy spending all of your free time standing and watching people who don't know what they're doing mess up your transaction over and over, I'd suggest a different location. I go to Wells Fargo every single day for work and I've never waited this long for a deposit. I was in the area and thought I could get my work done after lunch, and literally left an hour later so upset. First the teller counted my money 3 times, then made up a check amount which I hadn't written down and because of this couldn't match her total to mine for about an hour. I recently gave them another chance with some cd's for my kids and they claimed I signed a paper wrong when I took out the cd's so all the interest was forfited. So I came around 12:30pm-ish today to deposit a couple checks. Waited about 5 minutes in line. The teller was nice and asked how my day was, the usual like all other Wells Fargo's. After depositing my checks and leaving the bank, I later received a call from the same teller telling me that I actually did not sign one of the checks! Oops! She asked me to come back before 5:15, so I rushed from the Fisherman's Wharf area so I could sign it. I got there at 5pm and there was a lengthy line. By the time I got to the counter, the teller went to get my check and then told me they actually processed it/sent it off at 4pm that day! What a waste of rushing to come back. I know it was my fault for forgetting to sign it, not the teller's fault, but damn that sucked to find out the wrong information and to rush all the way there. Totally not blaming it on the teller, it was her first day and all, and she was really nice! read more

I knew WF sucked because my spouse had problems w them but this is the limit - this dumb branch won't cash a check written from a business for me because they have a 'limit' from someone named 'Sheena' that unless you have an account here you can't cash a WELLS FARGO CHECK here..... Yes you heard me right, you cannot cash a check from this very bank AT this very same BANK unless you sit down for 20 mins and open an account and leave $50 with them. I just started working at a job about 3 miles away. Is Milbrae always busy during the weekdays? All I wanted to do was use the ATM around 1:15 PM this afternoon, and I couldn't find a parking space anywhere near this WFB Branch location. Parking for the bank specifically is very limited. I drove around the block 3 times with no success hoping there would be an empty space. According to the locator, the nearest WFB ATM from this bank is at SFO. If Milbrae is always a "zoo" during the weekdays while I'm on the job, it looks like I will have difficulty whenever I'll need to do any 'walk-in' banking with them. read more
