The teller, Lucy, is extremely discriminatory but she does it with a goofy smile on her face to appease the person she is discriminating against. I have dealt with her on 3 separate occasions, every single time there is an issue. The current one being today. I attempted to deposit cash, after running it through the counter, she proceeded to run it through another machine that further checks for counterfeit bills. Whatever. Now as she is doing this second check of my bills, a man comes in to also deposit cash. His cash is run through the counter and deposited. No secondary check of his bills. This guy is the same race as Lucy and the teller who helped him. As much as I despise having to bring race into situations, I refuse to have anyone play in my face so blatantly. So, I question her about it and she of course plays stupid with that dumb smile slapped across her face. After Kathy (I guess she's a manager), comes and tries to justify Lucy's treatment of me, I get my money back from them and leave. My first run in with Lucy and Kathy was when I attempted to cash a large cashier's check and they wouldn't, stating that it needed to be verified. I called Wells Fargo and asked them if this was true and they said it wasn't and to go to a different branch. Went to the Southland branch and it was deposited without a second thought. Wells Fargo has been really good to me but that Lucy and Kathy have some issues they need to work out and I advise that they be avoided unless you happen to look like them. read more

The policies at Wells Fargo have drastically changed for the worst. It's egregious that members can't no longer invite friends and family to start an account at Wells Fargo because the only way to do so now is by going online and making an appointment which are mostly three weeks to a month away. You need to open an account right away and can't wait months go to another more cordial bank. read more

My advice is go create an account w Chase instead. Wells Fargo is pretty much useless when it comes to helping you solve a problem. Literally lost $300 dollar w this wells fargo and they dont have a single solid solution tht will resolve the problem at hand. Also random story but my aunt got robbed of $60 dollars in front of the atms at this Wells Fargo. They asked her if she wanted to call the cops. She was so shook tht she was like nahhhh and just went home. Shes just happy she didnt get robbed of $600 that she withdrew but decided to deposit again before leaving the atm lmaoooo. Came on Saturday at 9:20am, they were closed. Normally open Saturdays.... Yelp says open 9am-12pm Saturday.

I arrived at 11:00am to this branch. Since I had no appointment with them scheduled, they told me to wait until 11:30am because there had been a cancellation with someone else's appointment (leaving a cleared spot for us to be attended to). I waited until 11:30 and once 11:30 came, the supposed 'cancelled appointment' was not cancelled. They offered for me to wait about another hour to be attended to but I left out of frustration. I've always gone to this branch, they have really done great with their services, even with this pandemic going on they still run this bank smoothly. I had a problem a week and a half ago with someone taking money from my account and they made sure to get the problem taken care of right away and issued me a new temporary card, I want to thank Berenice for helping me through the process she was very professional and helpful, I also would love to thank Brenda she's the best and is always helpful if I need to get multiple tasks done she's an excellent bank teller. You guys are a great branch, thank you for everything especially taking care of the customers when we wait in line when it's hot at times and give us water. Continue to do what you guys do best! Nice office personnel friendly. Ask for copy of my check that cleared I was done in less than 5 minutes. Location is very Convenient with Boba place, Peets coffee, Safeway, UPS store, Chase and all others, plenty of parking. I have been here weekday a couple of times after they open at 9 and there is less traffic. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Ytao is the WORST banker I have ever had to deal with. First of all his accent is super difficult to understand but ok... whatever I said lets give it a shot. He sits me down at his desk after only a 5 minute wait and asks me what I need... I tell him I need to see about an accidental overdraft getting credited back to me and I also need to close that account after, and transfer the funds to my new account. I have a good history with Wells and RARELY get overdraft fee's so he says "ok we can do that!!! I can definitely get your funds credited back to you and we'll close that account today... So do you visit your family in Mexico a lot?" I thought, WTF?!? Is it because I'm hispanic you assume that I'm some straight from the boarder chick with all my family in mexico??? I wanted to say... no, do you f*cking karate chop people all day? Is your last name Chang? I responded with my offfensive tone that I don't have family over there, but trying to lighten the mood I mention that me and my boyfriend are going on a paid vacation to Mex soon that his job gave him. I shouldn't have said anything... as soon as I mentioned that, he started signing me up for something where I can pull out $$ in Mexico if I ever need to.... LONG STORY SHORT... he keeps doing that and asking my about my trip making small talk, then he closes my account.. I asked about the overdraft fee and he got up and put his hand on his forehead saying... "WOW I am so sorry I can't give you that money back after I closed the account" WHAT THE HELL... He already upset me enough and now he's not giving me back my funds that he promised me, all because he was too busy getting his points for signing me up for some BS I never asked for... I was upset, asked to speak to the manager and he said the manager was too busy on the phone. So he says, "I'm going to fix this please leave your number I will call you back when I figure out what I can do for you" Surely enough while I'm at work I get a voicemail with good ol Ytao saying that he has a gift for me waiting at his store for all the trouble. Come by and pick it up anytime just ask for me. I call back.. and he says "Yes! I am so sorry for everything I talked to my manager and we set up a gift for you!!" When I get there.... he handed me.... A WELLS FARGO STUFFED TOY HORSE! I will never do business with them again. Ever. read more

Horrible customer service! NEVER deal w Ingrid in the business center. She made multiple mistakes w our employee committee account and never returns calls. Business checks were ordered TWICE and never received. An ATM card was ordered and never arrived. An account that was suppose to be closed THREE MONTHS AGO was never shut down and continued to draw fees. Never spent less than an hr dealing w each issue on the account. Member of this bank since the day I was born. I've been coming in here for all of my banking needs (cash, savings, safe deposit boxes, etc) and have always had pleasant experiences. The entire staff of this branch are super friendly, and know what they're doing. I won't lie, and definitely agree with Mae that every single woman in here, are GORGEOUS. I like this Branch best of all. Used to frequent Marina Blvd, but saw that this one was a little closer to work. All tellers are very cool, and the floor staff are very professional. When Marcus worked there, I always saw him running around helping as many as possible. He fixed a problem with my account that another branch said couldn't be done. He also was able to fixed my daughter's account as well. Too bad he is at another branch now. My Wife and I had an issue with a refund check. We went in and the lady that helped us (an Accounts Associate), explained to us why we will have an issue depositing this check. We couldnt hear a word she was saying. Hell, we were two feet from her and she was already leaning towards us on the desk. So, I told her we cant really hear you...and it seemed she went softer. HUH?! Wha...?! I asked can we just get a little cash from this check and depsoit the rest into my personal account? She explained, "No, it all has to be deposited and it will be 2-3 business days before you can access it". She went and brought another girl over and she explained the same exact thing. Forget it, I'm outta here...so we went to Marina Blvd. The representative, said..."No, it was explained to you wrong." Not only did we have to open a joint account (that was explained in SLZ)...BUT, we got as much cash as we wanted up front! I only wanted $100 in the begininng...when I heard we can have more, I said "We'll do $1000!" So I paid off my credit Card Balance. : ) San Lorenzo still has a better staff and I won't let just that issue change my mind that I like this location very much! read more

Awhile ago, my bank account was comprised. I've since had the account closed and opened a new account. However, I previously had a military account and my new account was standard. I've tried for the longest time to get the account status updated at my local Chase bank where I live, but got no where. Recently, I walked into this branch to deposit a check and noticed the bankers didn't have any customers. I asked if I could speak with a banker and was immediately assisted. Within about 10 minutes, my account was updated to my military status and I was refunded all bank related fees. Shabana Sobhan was AMAZING!!!! She knew all the answers to my several questions!!! If you have any issues, I highly recommend asking for her. We ended up talking for an extra 10 minutes (it was slow that day) because she was so personable. Going forward, I will be using this branch for all my banking needs just because of her. She really made me feel my issues were her priorities and handled her business!! 5 star service all the way. read more

The parking lot is very dangerous! Windows are routinely shattered all day long in that lot according to the PD and although this bank has tons of lights for their ATM's, they don't care enough to hire guards to walk the parking lot. I don't feel safe there and won't go there ever again. read more

Just moved to the area a month ago. And I had the same teller twice. I made sure to get his name, Nahkima White, specifically to write a post about him. I have worked in customer service all my life. And he is the epitome of excellent customer service. Warm, friendly, and inviting. What puts him on the top of the pile is his genuine nature. I come off pretty goofy and aloof. A lot of tellers kind of slightly roll their eyes at my jokes and kooky antics. But he came off thoughtful and kind. I figured this bank could handle something as simple as a money exchange but no I was told after waiting in the line for 20 minutes that I had to order the money if I wanted to have it exchanged with a disgusting condescending woman trying to tell me that she didn't have hundreds when I just watched them hand over 7,000 fresh new hundreds out of their machine. Wells Fargo Bank off Marina has way better service and it leaves me wondering as to why they're stars or so low. I don't understand how this bank could have such high Stars.. I used to be a teller at Bank of America, and I know what good customer service is, and trust me, this wasn't it!! I used to come in all the time because my family has business accounts with them, but now you can't drag me in there, I've tried to give them a second chance, but really, the people they hire are idiots. Maybe not all, because not all of my encounters were horrible, but I'm surprised at some of the ones they do hire. First, I was waiting in the merchant line for like 5 minutes (I'm the only one there) and there was nobody in the window. By the time the merchant window opens up, she looks to the other line (ignoring me) and pulls someone from the OTHER line which had only 3 people, and mind you they had 3 tellers for that line already. So as we have a business and I'm pressed for time, not that they care, I'm a little peeved. When she finished helping the other lady, I go up to her window, and I asked her "Is there a reasone why you took her in front of me, since this is a merchant line?" The teller tries to give me some B.S. about how "oh, well, we help whoever has been waiting longer, no matter what line you're in." And so I ask her, "Well, I've been waiting, how are you going to keep tabs of who's waiting longer, if you're just going to keep taking people from the other line or help people who you think has been waiting longer, wouldn't you just eliminate the merchant line and make one single line???" I told her that's ridiculous, and she had absolutely nothing intelligent to say, besides "okay" She was unbelievably snotty and didn't even apologize. To top that off, the next week that dumb teller who for some reason keeps being placed as merchant, which really makes me wonder, don't they have anyone smarter??? anyways, she pulled the same shit, she would just take someone else from the other line and ignore the merchant line, get a clue.... you're a merchant teller, help the damn merchants!! AND if there are no merchants in line, THEN you pull someone from the other line. I was going to the manager to complain but then ended up talking to a personal banker (another idiot) who said, yes, thats our policy, we help whoever has been waiting longer. really?? At Bank of America the merchant teller actually helps people in the merchant line first, and she tells me, "Well this isn't Bank of America" with a smug look. Man, the personal bankers are just as dumb as the tellers. This is why I only go to BofA, they have way better customer service and they actually value their merchants. They don't understand that merchants have places to be, and the whole point of merchant lines were to be convient for the merchant, at least that was what I was taught from Banking Managers. This was the dumbest branch I have ever been to. BEWARE. AND the tellers are always chit chatting amongst themselves so you have to wait a while til theyre done for them to even acknowledge you. I was having the worst day today and was treated very poorly by the staff. Since the pandemic started I've literally been coming in every few weeks to withdrawal my EDD Bank of America card and disburse it into my Wells Fargo accounts. Today for some reason there was a problem. I got married in 2019 and never updated my maiden name on my EDD card. When the teller called over for managers assistance she addressed me saying, "is there a reason why you have a different name on this card" with hostility and suspicion as if I am committing some type of identity theft. I proceeded to explain my situation and that I had a women help me a few months ago to change my last name on all of my cards and account. She also proceeded to question me though I explained to her that I literally have been coming in for months as a routine until I finally got fed up going back and forth with her and asked to speak to another manager in which she scoffed at me and answered "yup" positive that I was going to get the same answer. She came back telling me she was on break. I waited. Then to my what I thought was going to be relief, I saw the woman that helped me set up my account with my name change a few months back and in my head I thought she could probably vouch for me! As soon as a approached her in a polite way she immediately turned to me with a disgusted look on her face and before I could even finish what I was saying she cut me right off and said "this is my 3 o'clock appointment" the man was barely just sitting down. I mean okay I get that and I was trying to be polite about it but as a customer service professional she could of at least let me be heard and tell me to wait. I honestly can't even stop thinking about how rude she was I was sorry for even asking. But then as I sat back down in shame and embarrassed for being treated like a nuisance made into a spectacle for everyone to look at I was then approached by a woman that helped me and my husband apply for a credit card together that was able to vouch for me. read more

Our newspaper delivery person called to say that Wells Fargo refused her deposit of our Christmas gift check to her because she deposited hundreds at the same time via her cell phone and that she would have to call all the people back and that they would have to call Wells Fargo to verify the checks. She gave me a Wells Fargo phone number. When I called them they said they would not accept my verification because I was not a Wells Fargo customer. I figure this poor working person, an immigrant with limited English skills, got screwed to the tune of about $10,000 because of Wells Fargo's ultra shitty customer service. Why didn't they tell her to simply come down to a local branch and deposit the checks physically? This corroborates everything I've heard about Wells Fargo's propensity to cheat their customers. My strong advice: never patronize Wells Fargo. They are soulless ripoff artists. read more

Great customer service and friendly. This was my second time cashing a check and it was painless. The gentleman today conversed me with the entire time which I thought was very personable. Usually they cant wait to get your transaction completed and you out of there. The first time was a good experience as well but do not remember who helped me.
