This location used to be its headquarters, before they moved to the glitzy & ritzy side of the East Bay - can you guess where that is?! Pleasanton! Since I work right next to this branch, it has been super-duper convenient to run all my banking errands during the week; yet alone, having the Hayward staff so vibrant & hospitable - shoutout to Brenda & the rest of the team! Super helpful & don't leave you hanging when you've got any questions/concerns you may have about your account or any information you would like to know. In addition, they also have perks throughout the year - whether it be freebies or some knick-knacks & giveaways as an appreciation to its members like me, who continue & will continue utilizing their services. They are a cash-less branch, though; meaning that you won't find the traditional teller windows here & being able to get cash on hand. They have 2 ATM machines inside that can help you deposit and/or withdraw from your accounts, in addition, to being able to check your balance, as well. They also have an outside ATM machine, just in case you're in a hurry or you come across to this branch on weekends (yep, they are closed on weekends!) - and they just installed a brand new one within this last month. Ample parking is available (they have their own lot), in addition to street parking along Amador - and its members are predominantly Alameda County employees, so make sure to acknowledge your co-workers when you see them here! My review is not for the branch but for 1st United Credit Union as a company. DO NOT buy Visa gift cards from this company unless you want to have your money stolen. I have been saving a $100 gift card that I received for Christmas 2023 and when I tried to use it today I was told there is a zero balance on the card. The representative informed me that the card was never used and the entire balance was erased due to being charge "inactivity fees". This is an illegal practice in the State of California but their main branch for gift cards is in SD so the laws do not apply. I will be closing all accounts with 1st United and am hoping that people will no longer purchase these gift cards if they see this review. Clearly they needed the $100 more than I did! Horrible customer service and shady business practices are what you get with this company. Thanks for nothing! read more
