Bank of America Financial Center - Another branch bites the dust on 8/20/2024

I was pleasantly surprised today at this branch…read more I knew there would be a line outside and inside but I'm cool with that. It's how things are now. Today I was fortunately. Both lines were short and I completed my business quickly. But I know this isn't always the case. So be patient, lines are going to continue to be part of our lives. --- The last time I was in this branch was two years ago to cash in some savings bonds and the customer service was less than ideal, a lot less. It was bad enough I avoided this place for two years. Today I went in to cash in some more bonds and was mentally prepared for the worse. I honestly expected they'd turn me away and say they couldn't do it since it takes time to go through the process. Instead the cashier was friendly and helpful. She went through the process quickly, efficiently, and without any of the grumbling which I had received two years ago. She was truly professional. Wish I had gotten her name. Also there was a supervisor I talked to about a related issue and she was also friendly and helpful. I rarely have to go into a bank anymore. I hope the next time I go into this branch it'll be as friendly as today.

This branch is horrible. Bankers just standing there and never trying to help…read more Little behind the story. I've been having trouble using BOA recently, I've been depositing foreign checks for years in Chinatown branch and never had problems, but this year, they didn't know how to handle it, put a record to my checks so whoever I talked to they just point at that note saying there's nothing they can do, try emailing them, that's BS because that newbie who handled my checks is completely clueless how to handle them, and put a record that prevent someone who knows how to help. So I went to chase, they took care of that in a blast, in and out, so I opened an checking account with them and now I'm a happy Chase customer. Then, of course I'm closing my BOA checking and transfer the funds to Chase, went in this branch, talked to a banker hey I wanna close my account can you help me? Oh sorry sir, we don't have any availabile banker to help you out currently, you can just go to the checker and get your funds, then call CS to close it for you, while there were 2 bankers standing there gossiping. Oh fine, I go line up, while waiting, the 2 people behind me they helped them. WTF? Obviously she wasn't happy I'm closing my account and she thinks you're not our customer anymore so go f yourself. BOA seems to be hiring clueless bankers recently and they know sh about what they have to do, so stay away from them. Well. I'm done with BOA now, so happy I closed their account and now I'm with Chase.

He never saw him greeting anyone ( too busy talking on the phone ). I hope you will look into this guards behavior ( mid height , dark brown hair , white male ) . We spoke to the manager, who reacted to our presence with immediate hostility, demanding to know who we were, and refusing to even speak to my wife's mother with us present, unless we had a power of attorney, in which case it would not have been necessary to wheel my mother-in-law seven blocks to the bank. I was so outraged that I asked for the necessary documentation to close and transfer the account. She refused that request as well, adding that not all business was good business. I can understand a desire to protect clients from fraud and manipulation. But my mother-in-law is lucid and competent. The manager simply assumed the contrary. Not once did the manager address herself to my mother-in-law to ask what she wanted and how she might help. That is not protection. That's a narrow-minded defensiveness and a gross lack of cooperation. Never have I dealt with a manager with fewer customer skills.

Needs to have zero stars. The one place I get profiled is banks. The funnier part? I can verify…read moreI'm a contractor, 30 forms of ID, shit I can show them I have a few hundred in my account at another bank, but when you're not one of their members (I was but B of A is the legit worst bank of any bank I've ever banked with) they won't do anything for their customer. They won't call to verify, they won't take any extra steps at all to complete a transaction their client has authorized to make. The manager at this bank is hilarious too. The reasoning behind not cashing it isn't even part of their policy, and on top? She's not even supposed to tell me why there was a discrepancy. If she worked for me, I'd off her today, and in my business, I rarely fire anyone. When someone is standing in front of me asking the bank to do their job, and they blatantly don't? It's time for you to find another job. I get it though, this is probably the one place they have a little control and a space to say no. Maybe if I came in something other then my work truck and dressed up wearing my Rolex and didn't look like a contractor the story would be different. People come in to cash checks at clients banks to ensure checks don't bounce. It saves everyone time and money. Cant wait for this place to go under. Even funnier? They cashed the check of the better looking contractor who doesn't look as dirty as me. Can't make this ish up. Same name on the check that didn't work for me, worked for him. Tell me the manager doesn't profile
