This is an interesting place on the edge of SLUs campus but kind of isolated. Had an outdoor patio area but it needed some lights or decoration or something to make it just not a concrete patio. Inside was interesting and they do have some local artists art for sale on the walls, always happy to see a place showing local art! The beer selection was a bit odd, i tasted the Bamberg Rauchbier and it was so smoky I could not bring myself to order it. But they had a good variety of beer brewed there. It was nice but the place could use a bit more character, especially on the outdoor space as it could have so much potential!

Great place to host an event

Cleanliness, friendly staff, and really good beer... I don't think you'll find a better Brewery in St. Louis. It's a very cool, family-friendly atmosphere. This is not your wall to wall TV, loud, breweries; it's definitely a place to have a beer and read a book, take a date to get to know them, or bring the family for game night. The only drawback is that they only have tamales on site from the Tamale Man as food. BUT ordering in food is encouraged, and they also have a partnership with Salsa Rosada to deliver food as well. So if you're trying to have a good beer and catch up with a friend and just relax. This is the place. Oh, and they're dog friendly!!

Wellspent Brewing is a super cute spot! They have indoor and outdoor seating. I got their sour beer On The Bright Side. It was great. Wellspent has a great ambiance and lots of events! I would love to come back and participate in their cornhole league.

Nicest staff, friendly atmosphere, solid solid solid brews!, and free bingo on Wednesday and Trivia on Thursdays! They're also on the STL Pub Pass so we got a free beer as well. Such a fun time, PLUS they're dog friendly (inside!). They also have games and coloring books for adults to spend time hanging out. 10/10 would recommend... great addition to midtown!

We came here for our first trivia night. There were five rounds. We lost....like epically lost. However the brewery was fantastic. I got a pink seltzer type drink it was delicious! My husband had a dark lager and loved it. Surprisingly he typically doesn't like dark beer but he really enjoyed this one. They allow pets. It was very clean inside even with multiple dogs. They sell food that is made prior. This night they had tamales with black bean and sweet potatoes. Get them while you can because they do sell out. Service is wonderful. There was one bartender who was consistently helping over twenty people and no one waited more then five minutes. She even walked around and gave the dogs treats.

Went to Wellspent on a Thursday evening for trivia. The brewery had both inside and outside gated patio seating. The indoor area was well lit and the there was plenty of room for everyone to sit and spread out. It is also dog friendly both inside and on the patio. They offered tamales which I did not try but also allow outside food which is nice. All of the beers I tried were quite tasty as well. I DEFINITELY will be back to Wellspent and would recommend others to check it out.

I am so glad Wellspent Brewing is back open in the Lou. I was also surprised to see that their old check-in on Yelp was gone. When I checked in, all that popped up was this new one. Either way, I am thrilled they are back and considering the large standing room only crowd, I am not the only one. The Wellspent brewery is small, compact and cozy. There are several stools at the bar, multiple tables and several high-tops as well. In addition to all the indoor seating, WB has a relaxing patio. While I was there for the Grand Opening, several patrons enjoying cigars outside. In addition to stogie smokers, there were also some K-9's enjoying the re-opening with their owners. Great locally brewed beer, friendly staff and K-9 friendl. Welcome back to the local craft beer scene, Wellspent. When: February 15, 2020 Why: Grand Re-Opening

Great location, Capable and friendly staff, and... PHENOMENAL BEER!!! 'I choose not to run' is an absolute favorite and I HIGHLY recommend it. Closely followed by the 'Mr. Maraschino!' However there are SO MANY incredible brews you have to go choose your own.

Really strong flight of dark porters.

Really strong beers and stouts...if that's your thing then you'll satisfied probably but the prices are steep and the flavors are rich and really sweet. Wooh.

I came here not too long ago with the Pub Pass (pro-tip: check that out if you haven't yet already) for a pint. This spot was refreshing in so many ways. The beer was cold, crisp, and flavorful. The building was clean, bright, and open-air. And the outdoor patio was beautiful, and perfectly situated for evening time summer movie nights! (they were showing Groundhogs Day) They serve the beer in more wine-like glasses, but you have the option to also get a small taster, or a DIY sampler of several ones you'd like to taste. The bartender was patient and helpful. I enjoyed the recommendations he gave. They also had an old school crowler :) Yep, you can get what you love packaged into a 32 oz larrrrrge can to go home with you! Talk about one way to spend an evening with friends. Really enjoyed this space and will be back again soon!

Crispy edge pop-up and Bonanza Theatre release party!

I really love this place, the people, and their beer. Wellspent is named after a life the owners wanted to create, a life Wellspent. Umm, how sweet is that? It's not fake either, these people are pure gold and always happy to be there and alive in general. That Joy is diffused into the space and their beer, I'm a huge fan. Always warm and welcoming and they have rad events literally every week (like I need another excuse to visit)! Go check them out! Great beer, patio, space and overall atmosphere and get to know some genuinely good people. I do not know them other than going to the brewery so I'm not just a friend posting this, I met them at a Yelp elite event and my world is better now because of it. Cheers!

Orders: Rat Nibbler New-England IPA | Mass Appeal American IPA Super cool brewery with great beers & great service!! I was on an IPA train & started with the Mass Appeal and continued on to the Rat Nibbler after noticing the beautiful color of it in a glass at the table behind me. Both were so so good!!!! Most tables were full on the Sunday we went, but we scored a table no problem & I got to work on my art (thought about posting... but keeping it secret. Message me if curious lol) and sip some delish IPA's with good vibes & music all around me. Great spot!! (Has outdoor seating too! But it's cold out so I didn't feel like being a hero) Awesome spot! Highly recommend!!! :))

Stopped at Wellspent to stamp our Pub Pass! Loved their IPA. The patio with picnic tables was only amplified by the great selection of board games inside!

I enjoyed that quiet space for a bit and the afternoon air after the walk from Cortex made the wait feel intentional rather than inconvenient. Comfortable seating out here and the light breeze with the afternoon light was nice as I cranked out a few Yelp reviews before I spotted other customers going inside. After setting up at the huge table in the corner, I stepped up to the bar where I was warmly greeted. I chose their Fish Fry, which they call a light lager. It was in a huge mug and that worked out just fine for me as it lasted a while. Oh, and some chicken wings. These were tasty buggers. Served quite hot with a rub that was more spice than sauce. Very yummy and the two sauces were perfect accompaniment. Absolutely delicious. Not long after, friends arrived and I shifted from solo laptop time to conversation. It's nice to see how Rockwell handles the flow of customers. Casual, attentive, friendly. Just right for a great brewpub and a great time. They do have a parking lot. It was just an easy experience today and a great spot for a meetup or hanging out on your own. [Round number review 400 of 2026 - 498 in Missouri - 25583 overall]

I came with my parents and husband and we all agreed it was a great idea and a very comfortable space, perfect for what was needed. I was surprised at how relatively ample the parking was here despite its proximity to the city. We found a spot with no problems. There were discreet signs that directed us up the stairs to where the event was held. It was spacious, airy, and cool, with a decent number of tables and a very nice large bar, as well as restrooms for both men and women. Our family members who spoke were able to stand on a small stage and share their thoughts. The food was served buffet style in front of the stage. Although you'd think it might be hard to hear given the acoustics, they worked out a way to make it so their speeches could be heard easily. Even visiting with other folks after they spoke, it never became too loud to hear each other. There are also nice TVs which displayed photos of the family. Although we used the space for a celebration of life, I can imagine it would be a good fit for all sorts of events, from corporate parties to just a chill hang out space when it's open to the public. It did get a little bit hot in the space as the event wore on, but it wasn't intolerable. The food and drinks were also quite tasty, especially for catered/buffet style food. There were pretzel bites and cheese dip and three different types of slider burgers: a standard/original burger, a taco burger, and an Impossible burger. The pretzel bites were crispy and buttery. I had a taco burger slider. It was a tiny bit dry but had a great flavor. The bartenders were great -- friendly, answering questions, working efficiently, and very kind to all the guests. Husband enjoyed the beers he tried and my mom and I both ordered the "Cranberry Crush," which was a yummy (and strong!) cocktail that was bright and perfectly sweet. They also serve mocktails, which I love! Glad to include folks who are sober. Thanks, 4 Hands, for creating a welcoming and comfortable space for us!

It's not altogether different from the smell of beer as it's coming back up, and it called to mind my illustrious, mostly-forgotten-at-this-point college years. I was suddenly compelled to listen to Cannibal Ox and watch certain videos that I'd pilfered from Kazaa, and it's probably for the best that I didn't have access to a circa 1998 Compaq Presario in that moment. The vibe in Bluewood Brewing is a lot classier. There's no "Iron Galaxy" over the PA. The lights are dimmed, which I imagine would be convenient if there was someone there you owed money to. I was particularly impressed with a long table on the patio. I remarked to a member of my running group that it almost certainly didn't come from IKEA. The wood was of too high a quality. The food menu is limited to a small selection of standard sports-bar fare, but this is not anywhere you'd go to watch the game. They might not have any TVs. Did they spend too much on the table? Also, they don't sell any beer in cans, that I'm aware of, which I generally prefer as someone who, as the evening progresses, is prone to dropping things. I went with something called Crush, which is an orange-flavored high-gravity IPA. It was the highest ABV selection on their regular beer menu, but it also costs a little bit more, so you're not really getting over on them--unless you thought to "pregame." I found it to be both less "stiff" than I was expecting and less orange-tasting, in a good way but also in a bad way, in that anything that fails to conform to expectation is at least somewhat disappointing. I was expecting paint thinner and orange juice. I got something that was balanced and flavorful. From the food menu, I got the daily special, which was a sort of elevated patty melt called the Stable Melt. It came with two all-beef patties, Swiss, caramelized onions and "Frisco" sauce on Union Loafers marbled rye, with your choice of chips or fries. It was $18, and as I was standing there a guy came out and changed the price to $19, presumably due to developments in the war with Iran. I was assured that I'd be "grandfathered in" at $18, but I'm not sure if he told the guy at the register and I didn't bother to check. It wasn't necessarily my kind of thing, but it was a great burger. The name-brand bread alone nearly justified the price increase. The meat was generously proportioned (no Diddy), but it didn't quite extend to the edges of the bread. Perhaps if it were one larger patty? The onions gave it a sophisticated Salisbury steak vibe, wholly superior to Hungry Man. The fries called to mind the fries at Wendy's. If only they offered a Frosty to dip them in. It wouldn't necessarily go with their beer. I'd suggest they put bourbon or something in it, but I shudder to think what they might charge.
