A lovely spot!! The staff were all very kind and helpful when ordering. The outdoor space was lovely with several great seating options. Unfortunately the mosquitoes chased us inside, but luckily inside is just a great! The beers were great and we knew they would be because we often drink perennial when we are out. What was the big surprise were the incredible sandwiches! The bread itself was something I would buy again and again. I loved seeing multiple vegetarian options on the menu and am excited to come back in the future.

Hot outside St Louis? Head inside at Perennial. Or if weather is great, they have some nice outdoor seating as well. Our most recent visit had us inside since it felt like 110 degrees outside. A nice cold beer was in order. Hubs got the Gold Tooth- ordered it 2x so he liked it. Myself, I have developed a liking for the strong dark beers so I enjoyed O'Dolye's Rules. Yummy. A slow sipper that's for sure. I appreciate that they have a self service water station and they have all kinds of games to play. We had just been at a brunch so didn't really want food but nephew talked up their Big Mouth sandwiches so much I ordered one to go. I got the Just Beet It- yes prominently featuring beets. It was delicious especially the bread.

Stopped in with my wife and daughter to have a beer and ended up staying for 3 hours and playing trivia. We ordered our beers and cider and realized that trivia was going on. We listed to a round and then some friendly patrons at the bar informed us that we could join in as each round has winners and you don't have to play the entire game. So, we started playing, not well but we had fun. All the beers were tasty as usual and the atmosphere and Peggy the bartender were fantastic! Highly recommend the monthly trivia with Sean/Shawn.

Absolutely love the ambience and the vibe of this place! They have tons of seating inside and outside. I got the poolside breeze to drink which was a sour beer and it was so good! If you have a dog, you can bring them and sit outside on the turf. I would 100% come back here again.

Looking for a fun laidback place to enjoy locally produced beer! Head over to Perennial in South City. They've been doing beer and laidback fun for many years!

Delicious, unique brews! While perusing the shelves at a bottle shop in NC the Black Walnut Dunkel caught my eye. I'm glad I decided to give it a try since it had an excellent distinctive flavor. Too bad the brewery is in St. Louis, MO, otherwise I would be interested in visiting. I recommend trying the Black Walnut Dunkel if you are nearby the brewery or find it at a local bottle shop. Per their website, it looks like the brewery offers draft brews, cans, bottles, snacks, and games. It even has alcoholic drinks like dreamsicle slushie and vodka milkshakes. They also hosts events and have a dog-friendly patio!

We had a blast coming here a few years ago! We stopped in after traveling up from Nashville and we tried a large flight, which was delicious. They have varied styles and they make fantastic beer all around. We also loved "going to camp" and getting to have some free beer! We'll definitely come back on our next trip to St. Louis!

Went here after not being here in a few years. I brought in some $15 bottles to leave with them from my hometown. In return, I was gifted a sticker. The first time I came here back in 2016, it was all love. I felt welcomed. This time, not so much. I felt rushed. Got my wife a tshirt as I often do when hitting different breweries. They still do brew great beer and that will keep me interested - from afar.

Very tasty beer and fun outdoor seating area. Was wanting a little snack with my beer but their kitchen wasn't open so I left pretty quickly because I was hungry.

Orders: Spaghetti Squash, Sage, Pear & Blue Cheese Handpie | Soft Pretzel & Grain Mustard | THE BROWN BEAR English Brown Ale | SHAKE THE FROST Session Coffee Stout w/ SUMP Coffee (omgggggg) I've wanted to check this place out forever because I loved the botanical name & every beer of theirs I've run into - it was so great!! The staff was awesome & everyone was glowing with happy Sunday vibes inside, especially all the cute kiddos running around. They've got great swag (see koozie photos, but not pictured are some awesome mustard sweatshirts that would pair well with a Soft Pretzel + Grain Mustard). Highly recommend adventuring out to this big, beautiful brewery boasting really beautiful beer! & grub! & wine, if that's what you're into ;) Thanks, Perennial!! St. Louis is lucky to have you!

LOVE perennial. I had one of their IPAs and it was good, I always love their Saison (blue can with white flower), and Abraxas is unmatched. Got two bottles to take back home with us. They have a couple of games to play, and dart boards. Great place to just hangout. Love their outdoor too, good amount of seating inside and outside. And they have bags to play when it's nice out

Perennial consistently makes a number of great beers and is worth a visit. The location is in a more out of the way spot in town than more well known breweries. The brewery is well maintained and the staff is friendly. Perennial has a modest assortment of food. The last time I was in I got some rice krispies that I really enjoyed. You could also travel a few short blocks and get a burger at nearby Stacked while you are at it. I will mention for frankness that the neighborhood around Perennial is a bit run down. I've never had any issues, but it is something to be aware of.

    Coffee Abraxas

Not sure why Perennial Artisan Ales does not have a five star rating on Yelp. Their beers are as near to perfect as any brewery I've ever been to. And that's not just my opinion. Perennial receives award after award at a national level for their brews. They are always noted in high regard amongst the craft beer gurus. Let's just start this review out with the heaviest hitter. The creme de la creme. Abraxas. It's only available once a year. Most years you have to get on a pre-order list that is limited to four bottles per person. Is it a bit pricey? Yes. Is it worth every penny. FOR SURE. Abraxas is an imperial stout brewed with ancho chili peppers, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and cinnamon sticks. Perennial always has a few variants of it including coffee and vanilla. They're all equally as good. This finely aged beer packs a punch at 11.5% but lacks that boozie taste. There is no beer at this high of an ABV that's as smooth as Abraxas. Each year I get so excited for the release and jump at a few extra pours on draught when I pick up my four bottles. This year was no different! We braved the cold to share a few glasses of Abraxas on the patio of Perennials South City brewery. There were a few fire pits and outdoor heaters strewn about to help fight off the cold, but due to social distancing we tried to stay further away from them. So pro tip, if you're going to sit outside at Perennial bring some blankets because their picnic tables can get cold! If you're hungry, you can ingest some Abraxas in the form of a slow roasted chili while you're sitting on the patio. It's the perfect way to celebrate the season and to attempt to keep as warm as possible. Overall, I know that Perennial can sometimes be misconstrued as a snobby hipster brewery. But with beer as good as they're producing. I'll accept just about anything.

    Excellent Coffee Stout!

I ended up getting the LW burger with pub cheese and it came with shoe string fries, the burger was thick and juicy, while the shoe string fries with garlic aioli as my sauce was, perfect! This is a pretty good family atmosphere, they have high top tables but also had high top high chairs! A real positive in our book, haven't ran into many restaurants that have this option. I would suggest if you have little ones to order your food when they take your drinks because the service can be hit or miss depending on the time you go, and food can take a little longer than expected. So get the little ones ordered in first and then decide on the adults.

I only saw two high top tables for two people and they were in corners. So we sat in a corner on backless stools. Stools in restaurants should have backs!Pretty uncomfortable and we won't do that again. It also has really high ceilings so it got pretty loud in there. Our server was Erin and she was good! The place was packed inside and outside (in the rain - there were umbrellas over the tables) so the staff was super busy. She kept the drinks and food coming at a good pace. We started off with drinks and onion rings. We had been told how good the onion rings were so we had to order them - they lived up to the hype! I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband is. He had three different ones and didn't really enjoy any of them. He tried Tidewater Plains, Master of the Universe, and Batholith. I had a Jungleberg cocktail and liked it so much, I ordered another one. The server said they were out of them. There were five ingredients in the drink so I have no idea what they were out of. I ordered a Spicy Ancho Margarita and it was okay. It shouldn't be called spicy, because it is not. I ordered Chicken Wings and Onion Soup. Yes, it was summer. But it was cold and rainy and soup sounded good! The soup was very good - very cheesy and they didn't put a chunk of bread in there to get all soggy, which I appreciated. The wings were okay. They were way too saucy for me. My husband got the Philly and said it was okay, but nothing special. I would have probably given 3.5 stars, but that is not an option. I'd go back for the onion rings!

Rockwell Beer Company earns the association honestly. I walk in wary (I don't drink beer, don't like it, and an industrial brewery hugging a busy four-lane street is not my native habitat), I get the sense I need to eat in the corner so people don't discover the non-beer drinker; however, I walked out humming. The reason is the food, sourced through Street Food by Brasas. This is not brewery food that apologizes for itself. Pretzels, wings, both worth ordering again. The pizzas (barbecue, pepperoni) land in that rare category of elevated bar snack. I'd happily return for a table's worth. It's order at the window food service, which is fine for their vibe, but it keeps the environment to a self-service lower warmth environment. I enjoyed that quiet space for a bit and the afternoon air after the walk from Cortex made the wait feel intentional rather than inconvenient. Comfortable seating out here and the light breeze with the afternoon light was nice as I cranked out a few Yelp reviews before I spotted other customers going inside. After setting up at the huge table in the corner, I stepped up to the bar where I was warmly greeted. I chose their Fish Fry, which they call a light lager. It was in a huge mug and that worked out just fine for me as it lasted a while. Oh, and some chicken wings. These were tasty buggers. Served quite hot with a rub that was more spice than sauce. Very yummy and the two sauces were perfect accompaniment. Absolutely delicious. Not long after, friends arrived and I shifted from solo laptop time to conversation. It's nice to see how Rockwell handles the flow of customers. Casual, attentive, friendly. Just right for a great brewpub and a great time. They do have a parking lot. It was just an easy experience today and a great spot for a meetup or hanging out on your own. [Round number review 400 of 2026 - 498 in Missouri - 25583 overall]

St. Louis is lousy with these microbreweries--this part of town in particular, to the point where,…read moreas I ran the streets of the surrounding area, I was violently assaulted with what must be the smell of beer as it's being brewed. It's not altogether different from the smell of beer as it's coming back up, and it called to mind my illustrious, mostly-forgotten-at-this-point college years. I was suddenly compelled to listen to Cannibal Ox and watch certain videos that I'd pilfered from Kazaa, and it's probably for the best that I didn't have access to a circa 1998 Compaq Presario in that moment. The vibe in Bluewood Brewing is a lot classier. There's no "Iron Galaxy" over the PA. The lights are dimmed, which I imagine would be convenient if there was someone there you owed money to. I was particularly impressed with a long table on the patio. I remarked to a member of my running group that it almost certainly didn't come from IKEA. The wood was of too high a quality. The food menu is limited to a small selection of standard sports-bar fare, but this is not anywhere you'd go to watch the game. They might not have any TVs. Did they spend too much on the table? Also, they don't sell any beer in cans, that I'm aware of, which I generally prefer as someone who, as the evening progresses, is prone to dropping things. I went with something called Crush, which is an orange-flavored high-gravity IPA. It was the highest ABV selection on their regular beer menu, but it also costs a little bit more, so you're not really getting over on them--unless you thought to "pregame." I found it to be both less "stiff" than I was expecting and less orange-tasting, in a good way but also in a bad way, in that anything that fails to conform to expectation is at least somewhat disappointing. I was expecting paint thinner and orange juice. I got something that was balanced and flavorful. From the food menu, I got the daily special, which was a sort of elevated patty melt called the Stable Melt. It came with two all-beef patties, Swiss, caramelized onions and "Frisco" sauce on Union Loafers marbled rye, with your choice of chips or fries. It was $18, and as I was standing there a guy came out and changed the price to $19, presumably due to developments in the war with Iran. I was assured that I'd be "grandfathered in" at $18, but I'm not sure if he told the guy at the register and I didn't bother to check. It wasn't necessarily my kind of thing, but it was a great burger. The name-brand bread alone nearly justified the price increase. The meat was generously proportioned (no Diddy), but it didn't quite extend to the edges of the bread. Perhaps if it were one larger patty? The onions gave it a sophisticated Salisbury steak vibe, wholly superior to Hungry Man. The fries called to mind the fries at Wendy's. If only they offered a Frosty to dip them in. It wouldn't necessarily go with their beer. I'd suggest they put bourbon or something in it, but I shudder to think what they might charge.

Our family members who spoke were able to stand on a small stage and share their thoughts. The food was served buffet style in front of the stage. Although you'd think it might be hard to hear given the acoustics, they worked out a way to make it so their speeches could be heard easily. Even visiting with other folks after they spoke, it never became too loud to hear each other. There are also nice TVs which displayed photos of the family. Although we used the space for a celebration of life, I can imagine it would be a good fit for all sorts of events, from corporate parties to just a chill hang out space when it's open to the public. It did get a little bit hot in the space as the event wore on, but it wasn't intolerable. The food and drinks were also quite tasty, especially for catered/buffet style food. There were pretzel bites and cheese dip and three different types of slider burgers: a standard/original burger, a taco burger, and an Impossible burger. The pretzel bites were crispy and buttery. I had a taco burger slider. It was a tiny bit dry but had a great flavor. The bartenders were great -- friendly, answering questions, working efficiently, and very kind to all the guests. Husband enjoyed the beers he tried and my mom and I both ordered the "Cranberry Crush," which was a yummy (and strong!) cocktail that was bright and perfectly sweet. They also serve mocktails, which I love! Glad to include folks who are sober. Thanks, 4 Hands, for creating a welcoming and comfortable space for us!

The beer here is not to my liking, everything is quite sweet…read more Everything has a murky appearance, even the pilsners. (see photo) The ambiance of the place was kind of boring. The bartender was leaning onto the bar to play on his phone, right in front of me. His phone was inches from touching mine. Someone else at the bar said "are you guys friends?!" when the bartender said "no", he replied "you need to get out of that guy's face then." Thanks man.
