I don't have much money but for the first time in a long time I had a little to spare so I thought I would treat myself to a little something. I figured the $5 biggie bag would be nice. was I wrong. The drive through was fast. from the time I ordered to the time I got to the window, I paid, got my drink and quickly got my bag. I checked to make sure everything was on the bag and it was. I went straight home(less than 2 miles) and everything was cold cold cold. Really disappointed. Burger patty was as cold as the lettuce. Fries were cold and limp. My partner and I ordered dine-in at the counter around 4:30 p.m. on a Monday. Our food came out in a timely manner, and it was sufficiently hot. Service at the front counter was friendly and efficient. That being said, there were a number of strange issues we encountered/observed today. The more I started to think about it, the more curious I became about their online reviews. And....here I am. What prompted me to write this review? 1) The ice waters we ordered today were handed over to me with the lids barely secured down. I secured them the rest of the way myself before taking them back to our table. These drinks were both ever so slightly pink in color and tasted like fruit punch. (If the water button is hooked up to a sugared beverage tap, that is a common but completely avoidable bacterial overgrowth situation. We were unable to drink the water for these reasons.) 2) The trash can up front was overflowing, but the tables and floor were pretty OK. 3) After we got our order, I started to notice a few employees standing around in front of the beverage fountain clearly watching us. I didn't get it at the time, but unfortunately, I sort of do now. I will have further commentary on this in a minute. 4) My nacho cheese fries came with the cheese sauce slopped all over the edges and "lift here to open" tabs of the sealed plastic tray they came in, it was nearly impossible to get it open without flinging it all over, I had to use my teeth to get it open. Right about this point I start to think "I'd be so mad if this were a prank, and someone were filming me..." 5) I'm continuing on in my confusion as I look up and different employees seem to trade off standing in a small group in front of the soda machine and taking turns pretending not to stare at me. I'm pretty sure one or more of them pointed a phone in my direction. I was pretty annoyed by this. 6) it took me a while to start eating the burger. The first thing I noticed was that the special cheese bun was missing. Instead, I got a stale brioche bun which was dry and crumbly. The second thing I notice is that the tortilla strips have been replaced with what I thought at the time looked like little tortilla chip nuggets, which in theory seem like a cool idea. They were pretty hard, though, and sticking weirdly to my teeth. I could only get through about half the burger, I kept having to pick chunks of "tortilla chip" out of my teeth. I decided not to complain about the burger and assumed they had just run out of the special buns. Maybe those "tortilla chip nuggets" just weren't for me. 7) As we packed up to leave, there was not a single employee within eyeshot. The trash can remained overfull the entire time. The restaurant was also nearly empty. There were a handful of employees there, they were just not within eyeshot. 8) When I got home and ate the rest of my burger, the sticky chunks of "tortilla chip" were strangely even mushier and stickier. At this point, right around the last bite, I discovered what those chunks really were. I swear to you right here they were Corn Nuts. On the surface this seems sort of funny, or even respectable in a make-do situation...but there is a big difference in chewing on a tortilla chip as opposed to a Corn Nut, and a customer could chip or crack a tooth out on something like that. I was not expecting something that hard and crunchy in my otherwise soft burger. 9) I was willing to let the likely burger bun shortage go, and I was even willing to chuckle at the make-do "tortilla strip" replacement. But I do not like how the employees were congregating around the soda machine staring at us with their cameras out. We are too uncomfortable to return to this place and will not be doing so moving forward. I felt like I was being watched to see if I noticed the Corn Nuts. This is really too weird for me. EDIT: These burgers are supposed to have Corn Nuts on them. But there were still no tortilla chips and I did get a stale bun that was not cheesy. Everything else stands as written. read more

Went in to pick up a Door Dash (DD) order. There was 1 car in the drive thru and 1 person inside waiting to order. There were 4 people working behind the counter and a 5th one popped out of the back room, looking lost and hungover as hell. None of these people even came near the counter for nearly 10 minutes. The only one doing any talking, an extremely short, African-American, lesbian/transgender/non-binary individual, not sure which because they never announced their preferred pronouns, approached the counter and I stated I was there to pick up a DD order for (name). The extremely short worker said it would be roughly 10 minutes and that my particular order would be right up. I said thank you and called my customer to inform them the restaurant was running a little behind. They were fine. A crowd was beginning to amass inside the store, yet the drive through was not busy at all, and the 1 or 2 cars that did make it through came in to complain about improper orders. Shorty X was grumbling under their breath every time a customer came in. Two people walked out in disgust after waiting for over 15 minutes each Over the course of my wait, Shorty X was fielding an endless barrage of personal phone calls and disappearing into the back for several minutes at a time, which for some reason halted production, every time. 2 DDers came in after I had been waiting for well over 25 minutes, so I calmly asked with somewhat of a raised voice to cut through the chatter, "how much longer on the order for(name)?". Shortfall didn't miss a beat, glared my way and loudly announced they were canceling my oder because they had stated DDs would be a while. I said, "you said roughly 10 minutes, not half an hour", to which Shorty replied, "now you are disrespecting me, get our of the store. I asked, "my customer has been waiting a long time, how much longer until it's ready?" Again, I was told to leave the restaurant. I yelled this would be a great place to open a restaurant and that this is the worst service I've ever experienced at any restaurant". The short one and 2 of their henchmen aggressively stormed from behind the counter as I was walking out the door to try to insult me. So I blared out a roaring, "F this place, I will never be back to this store because I wouldn't torture myself with such incompetence.", as I left. The fellow with the wavy mullet, who was trying to run the fryer dropped the f you bomb on me, so I called him a punk as I got into my car. Wow, 5 people couldn't handle maybe 5 - 6 simple orders over a 35 - 40 minute period, and the ones that were "completed " were way wrong as it was. If you value your time and a normally calm demeanor, stay as far away from this Wendy's as you can. They don't serve food there, just lessons in futility and frustration. Zero is too much. The manager screamed obscenities at me and threatened to call the cops on me as did another worker. I did not yell, scream, or call anyone names nor berate anyone at all. How did it come to this? I was in the drive through line which was not moving, so I drove around to the front and parked closest to the road as all the other spots were handicapped or online pick up parking only. I left my car and proceeded to the propped open front door to place my order in the lobby. After about a minute or more I was finally approached and told the lobby was closed. Remember the propped open front door that is an open invitation to come on in? Well apparently an open door means the lobby is closed as there was no sign on the door nor on either window on either side of the door. I asked her where the sign was posted saying the lobby was closed. She, a young black female approximately 20 sauntered away, not answering. I implored to to retrieve a manager. The manager, older black female 40+, came with an attitude and said loudly that the lobby was closed. Again I asked where the sign was posted. She did not answer but louder said the lobby was closed. Apparently she does not know customer service like " Sorry sir it is closed and I will put up a sign on the window. At this time could you please go into the drive through and we will be happy to take your order there". Apparently Wendy's does not teach etiquette or protocol, but hires emotional, possibly uneducated, and definitely unprofessional management. No, instead she said leave and I said maybe you should have your door shut. Then she yelled don't touch my door! I said ," I won't touch your door " and I did not touch the door. however I did move the chair holding the door open without touching the door and the door shut. She came after and went on a tirade of shrieking, screaming, and eventually profanity at me, and finally somewhere it that deranged outburst she mentioned that her workers were being exposed to too much smoke. I think the problem is the restaurant not having proper ventilation, but it is not my problem, my fault, nor did I notice it whilst in the lobby. Again I was cool, calm, and collected and respectfully reiterated that a sign on the door should be forthcoming. Perhaps I overestimated her as crayons and paper might not be found for her to make a makeshift sign. Two more workers showed up, probably slowing the drive through even more, and I politely asked her to stop screaming at me as I was leaving. I probably should have kept repeating " Calm down" as that always works on the borderline personalities. Anyhow, she needs immediate retraining, reevaluation, or replacement. This is never an acceptable way to treat a hapless customer who wanders in through a wide open door as if to beckon them in. It says they are open until 12am but they we're turning the lights off over 20 minutes early and refusing orders. Only know about that because of how long we had to wait for our food. Any time I've been here it's not a good experience. There's ALWAYS a wait, sometimes 5 minutes while at the speaker to order! Normally the fries are cold like they've been sitting for hours and today the lettuce is brown! The Diet Coke ordered tastes like a mix of every flavor they have on tap. Requested sauce at the speaker specifically so they could charge me for it if needed. While they did charge, I didn't get the sauce. And as usual, the service was subpar. The people at the window were complaining about other coworkers with the window open while I waited for my food. I have never been more embarrassed and humiliated in my life. This morning I went to the drive through (Wendy's) on Rawsonville Road in Belleville Michigan and my experience was horrific. I placed a breakfast order of a egg and cheese sandwich and the breakfast potato wedges. The total amount was 5.70$. I was not provided a receipt. I got my food and headed home. I wasn't feeling well and took a nap, when I woke and was ready to eat to my surprise, my egg and cheese sandwich was not egg and cheese but a plain pork sausage sandwich. I called the restaurant and they didn't answer. I drove the 22 minutes back to the restaurant to find the drive through line bagged up to the entrance. I parked, exited my vehicle and made my way to the door. The restaurant was locked and there were three employees watching me... as I knocked they pointed at me and then proceeded to pretend they didn't see me. I then walked to the drive through widow where I was unpleasantly greeted by a flustered and disgruntled employee, who took the food from me and then told me he would not refund me my money because breakfast was over. I asked for a manager and she wouldn't speak with me. The employee then told me to go back to the door and the manager would talk with me, I proceeded to go back to the restaurant door and wait. They then ignored me leaving me standing at the door in the hot sun while customers basked in my humiliation. Not only had they not refunded my money they took the food and left me standing outside. It took 45 minutes in the drive-through to get my food - two orders of fries and one hamburger. The lobby was closed. I was only about the 6th car in line. There was a 10-to-15 minute interval where the line did not move at all. One guy was in the back of the store breaking up cardboard boxes and a young woman was talking to him and playing with her smart phone. This was during the dinner rush. And once I got into position where I could see the cashier window, I saw that associate just standing there with her back to the window for several minutes... not preparing drinks, not scooping fries into individual portions, nothing. It looked like they did have two guys on the grill who seemed to be working diligently, but they seemed to be the only busy workers there. If they are having staffing shortages, then they should close the drive through and open up the lobby. That way people can use order kiosks and fill their own drinks. That has the same effect as freeing up one or two workers to actually prepare the food, which is what they are there for. When half the staff is filling drinks or taking orders for the drive through (things that the customers can do at self-service kiosks if the lobby is open) , then the manager needs to find ways to speed things up. Their service was so slow at the dinner rush that they were only serving about 8 vehicles an hour, Their hourly wages were eating up most of the revenue from what they were able to sell. During the time that I was there, about 10 cars left the line and drove off because the service was so slow in the drive through. read more

Ordered a #8. After pulling up to the window and paying the person at the window says they just put grilled chicken down on the stove and that I have to pull up and wait. Which is like 7-6 minutes. They didn't even give me the option of switching out the chicken for a home style or spicy chicken instead. Anyway I didn't mind waiting. I figured if I'm waiting then I'm mostly likely going to get fresh fast food. Unfortunately after waiting all I got fresh was literally the grilled chicken patty lol. I ordered 3 fries all together and none of them were fresh even after having to wait which I don't understand how they didn't have fresh fries by then. They must be over making them or something. I ordered A Dave's Double with Cheese, Lettuce, Pickle, Mustard and they still got the order wrong after making me repeat it 4 times. The lettuce was soggy, and almost non-existent, and no pickles. On top of that, they sent me to wait to get my order ready and it took 7 minutes until they brought the order out, only marginally hotter than lukewarm.
