A super hidden gem dive diner, open since 1972. The very best Deal in Michigan, fresh hand Patty Beef 1/2 Cheeseburger only $5. Cooked to order real Lettuce, Mater n Onion , on a super soft bun . To all you Burger review Foodies, my rating 9.5 a must try . Get this for only $3 you get Onion Rings or Fries and a large drink MEGA DEAL. While we ate inside at least 50 orders went out the door. The very best ever eaten Deluxe Steak Hoegie , only $4 for double Steak. All this only $20 can you say super cheap , it's hidden border of Ypsilanti and Belleville. They have thousands of regular customers, once the brothers had 3 locations 70's and 80's. We shared both Steak and Burger , no place in state you can eat 5 star food so cheap . Those Hot Peppers are a must try Yummy. Shout out to Kriss for the five star service . #howardshoagies @detroit_food_review #lowprices #cheeseburger #steakhoagie #onionrings @burger_review_guy

Just moved to the area and thought we'd give Howard's a shot. WOW! LOVED it!! We've come twice in a week. This will be our new go to. The service was so friendly and the menu prices are really reasonable.

I decided to drop off a package on this side of town. This place caught my eye due to the name. I am a n East coast Pennsylvania guy so a name like Hoagie typically catches my eye. There is a decent amount of parking in the front but I can imagine it could get crowded under regular circumstances. The place was small. There is a counter and a few tables. All seating was blocked off during covid and a mask was required. I ordered the steak hoagie with onions, mushrooms and cheese. This is the ultimate hoagie for me. I was told by the friendly lady that it would be ready in 15 minutes. The steak was good but I have had better. I always compare it to East coast locations because that is the measuring stick to me. The bread is really as important as the meat with this sandwich. The bread was ok and the meat was good. Bread is a matter of presence but I prefer the hoagie with a little bit of a firmness to the bread. Overall the sandwich is worth a try. The person that took my order was also friendly. I would visit again if I'm on that side of town.

Love the hoagies here!! One of my fav close to home places! Food is always hot and exactly what you expect. This place isn't anything fancy.. but the food is good and the place is clean. Thats prolly why it has been around so long! Male sure to check out the peppers thats what makes the hoagie! Dont let it fool you that its a hoagie shop the burgers are great as well!

Located in a kind of out of the way spot but worth finding. Good cheeseburger and fries at a reasonable price. Great hole in the wall place.

The only difference between now and then, as the cheese steaks were much bigger but I'm not complaining. You have to always have a fork because the meat falls out there's so much of it. I always get a cheese steak with extra cheese and pepper's on the side and a small root beer. The service is fast as long as you get there before the lunch rush. But I don't mind standing in line. This time, I'm going to take home a lunch meat sub for later tonight. I don't think I've ever had one. My father was friends with the original owner. My dad worked at the Ford Rawsonville plant. He would take orders from the people on the line and go to Gabriels and pickup sometimes 20 hoagies or more. He told my dad for every ten that he ordered, he would give him a free one. My brother and I like to stop by there at least once a month. Do yourself a favor please go check this place out. You can thank me later.

The steak and cheese hoagie was seasoned well and hot so I can't say much about that other than it's good. The bread was interesting, it reminded me of the soft buns they used for sloppy joes in the best way. It was soft and almost instantly melted/broke down with the meat and cheese so that you get everything melding together. The only reason why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that fast food places have conditioned me to expect some side like fries for $13-14. My order came out to be around $14 with the hoagie and a medium drink but no sides so that's why it's a 4 for me. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could.

So here we are today in Ann Arbor to check out Mr. Spots! Atmosphere/Appearance: It's as simple as you want it to be and as unchanged as ever. University of Michigan sports memorabilia and pictures plaster the walls. There's the quintessential drop-ceiling, light wooden paneling on the walls, rounded bench seats and TVs for menus. I don't remember music playing, but there had to be, right? Service: You just go to the counter and order your food then it's brought right out to you. Nothing crazy and we had no issues. Food: I started off with their Philly Original which pays homage to, well, you can guess. Lol. Their own cheesesteak version has like, marinara, onions, peppers and all kinds of stuff on it, but I'm here for the Philly! I got their 10" and the bread was soft, the meat was cooked well, the American cheese-wiz was tasty, but it was fine. It was pretty standard for a cheesesteak, nothing crazy. I was also able to try their Suicide Sauce with both a waffle fry and a wing. It was HOT. About a 7 on the Weavi Heat Scale (I.Y.K.Y.K.). I could definitely handle it and went back for extra dips. The sauce had plenty of good flavor alongside the heat. Value: Cheap eats here man. I'm happy Mr. Spot's has been able to keep the prices low-enough for college students to be able to have a decent meal here without breaking their bank. In conclusion, I liked it here! Would I go out of my way looking for Tom Brady's favorite cheesesteak that got him through college? Nah, but the food here IS GOOD! I wanna come back and check out their other flavors of wings! But there's a reason Mr. Spots has been here so long! Make sure you come and check out why.

We were fortunate to find street parking on Oakland Ave to the East of the restaurant. They claim this is Tom Brady's "favorite cheesesteak." There is a lot of memorabilia on the wall (see photos) including some of Michigan bball but surprisingly no Fab 5. I posted the current menu. As for the food, it was good but not the greatest. I recommend getting a side order of the hot sauce and jalapeños to add. The cheesesteak was good but the chicken Philly was a little bland. That is where the side of the hot sauce come in, worth the nominal additional cost.

We ordered 3 large cheesesteaks, 2 fries, and cheesesteak rolls, plus paid extra for add ons like cherry peppers on the side. Not only did they forget the extras entirely, but the "large" sandwiches were a joke. They used bigger buns and apparently decided that counted as a larger sandwich, because there was definitely not more meat. In fact, the meat barely covered HALF the bread. We literally have to cook extra meat at home just to turn these into actual cheesesteaks. And the cheesesteak rolls? The menu photo shows four halves. What showed up was ONE roll cut in half. That's it. The curly fries were the only thing remotely worth the money. Charging extra for every tiny add on while simultaneously skimping on the actual food (and the addons) is wild. If you're going to charge premium prices, at least put enough meat on the sandwich to justify calling it a cheesesteak.
