Not my absolute fave cheesesteak but definitely a worthy one. The cheesesteak here is good. Get the deluxe for the full experience. I recommend the extra meat option highly. Regular is not impressive to me. I like all the junk and lots of it, even if it results in having to eat the rest of the sandwich later. Its a better ratio with the bread imo. The burgers here are quite good. Go for 1/2 lb. I like the mushroom swiss but the basic version is tasty too. Juicy and happy. Sides of fries and onion rings are good choices but Im a firm fan of the fried mushrooms. Yum. Hard to find nowadays. You have to love a fried veg. Prices are great and they are super friendly. Amazing little place the fruit is made with care and taste and flavor in mind. The burgers are delicious. I decided to drop off a package on this side of town. This place caught my eye due to the name. I am a n East coast Pennsylvania guy so a name like Hoagie typically catches my eye. There is a decent amount of parking in the front but I can imagine it could get crowded under regular circumstances. The place was small. There is a counter and a few tables. All seating was blocked off during covid and a mask was required. I ordered the steak hoagie with onions, mushrooms and cheese. This is the ultimate hoagie for me. I was told by the friendly lady that it would be ready in 15 minutes. The steak was good but I have had better. I always compare it to East coast locations because that is the measuring stick to me. The bread is really as important as the meat with this sandwich. The bread was ok and the meat was good. Bread is a matter of presence but I prefer the hoagie with a little bit of a firmness to the bread. Overall the sandwich is worth a try. The person that took my order was also friendly. It says hoagie in the name but the burgers is probably what most people get from here. The burgers are good (not great). The reason why people love them to me is simply the price. You can get a half pound or a quarter pound burger with cheese for under $5. The cheesesteak here are also about $5 and not bad either. Their fries are not good to me, onion rings are cool (you can add a combo for under $3 here) and I do like their cheese sticks (I do wish they still had their wings). A little ways off the beaten path, but definitely worth stopping by a tiny little place and a very old strip mall very friendly person took my order and said it would be 15 minutes. I ordered the deluxe hoagie and fries. Everything was absolutely wonderful. It was hot and very tasty, the order actually only took 10 minutes. It was very crowded. Orders were being phoned in and promptly taken and filled. Today is a special day. It's been a while since I've eaten here, so I thought I would get a little old with the new. I've been coming here for 20+ years and have only ordered a cheese steak. I never knew that so many other people came here for the burgers. After seeing the other reviews on yelp, I had to try. Today I ordered my usual: deluxe steak and cheese with fries. But I ALSO ordered a 1/4 lb Burger. Why not? It was only an additional $2.50. I like this place over Gabrielle's because you can get more toppings on the hoagie and also can get fries. (And you don't smell like a locker room when you leave). But the hoagies taste pretty much the same. However, today I noticed a different Bun. I'm wondering if they switched bread vendors? Anyway, get a hoagie with a side of the cherry peppers. This is a must. The Burger was a real 1/4 lb Burger for $2.50. You could also get a 1/2 lb for $3.50. But it's not just the cost that makes this Burger special. It tasted good. Kind of like a backyard BBQ burger with a toasted bun. You can't go wrong here. I used to love this place. I've lived in multiple states since living in Ypsilanti and this was still a top 2 burger places for me. But after the last few visits I can definitely say that isn't true anymore. They changed their fries to a terrible copycat of McDonald's and don't even put sat on them. I called to ask and the cashier claims they "only put salt on by request"... I've never had to ask for salt on my fries because they tasted fine. The burger I got was terrible too. I just found out about this place in september, since then, I've been here two times a week and it is amazing. I can not say enough about how awesome the food is. It doesn't advertise and it is in the relative food desert of the East Willow neighborhood. It is on McCartney which is like a service drive to the US 12/ I 94 cutoff by the old Ford bomber plant. Best cheeseburgers in town. They do it old style toasted buns on a hamburger grill, actual slices of tomato and lettuce that is not from some poly bag. Delicious big dripping cheeseburgers. Don't use a card at this place, always use cash!! They charged my debit card twice and when I called to talk to the manager, he was rude and not apologetic at all. He acted like this happened a lot and only said "Bring a statement in". I asked if I could print the screen of my online account and he said No and hung up on me.
