I accidentally ended up in a hostage negotiation over a Wendy's order yesterday. The AI drive-thru doubled one of my items by mistake. Totally fine -- mistakes happen. I didn't notice until I got to the payment window, so I politely asked if they could remove the extra item. That's when the manager swooped in like I had personally attacked the integrity of the Baconator. In the most sarcastic tone imaginable: "Oh, so you didn't notice it on the screen before confirming? That's a shame." No sir, I did not complete a forensic audit of the AI transcript while inching through the drive-thru line. Then: "Oh wow... and you're looking for me to refund you?" Yes. My sister and I ordered 2 baked potato's 1 with chives and sour cream and the other with bacon and cheese she added 5 butter packets and salt and extra sour cream as well as a burger fries and chicken nuggets with 2 drinks. Wendy's used to have good burgers, but you can definitely see the shift to cost savings over quality. The burgers are much smaller (where is the beef?), less bacon on the burgers and they changed the cheese to a cheap artificial tasting cheese. Lastly the buns are as basic as you can get. I went to this fast food store because I did not have enough time for a sit down restaurant. I went into a store which had three customers in line ahead of me, but the staff did not appear to be interested in taking any orders. I waited at least ten minutes before a lady took my order, a full size "Southwest Avocado Salad". The salad had just a few slivers of fresh tomato, and the green sludge that was supposed to be avocado was very poor. This meal cost over $7.50, so it was not a great bargain. I ate the salad at the restaurant, but no one of its staff cared whether I liked the food. The attitude at this store could be improved greatly. read more

I used to come here almost every day about 10 years ago because at the time I was a teenager who would hang out with my friends here; however, after the remodel that this location has had, the customer service has turned to absolute crap. The employees have God awful customer service skills, but I guess we can begin with the few positives: the new building looks very nice and there is an outdoor patio after the remodel. The inside of the restaurant also is super modern and nice for a fast food restaurant. Storytime on the horrible customer service: My boyfriend and I went through the drive-thru last night around 8:30, and the dude said nothing for 2 minutes, and then finally said, "I'll be with you in a sec." We were like okay, no worries, they must be busy and that's fine. Well then after another minute, he said, "Okay, how can I help you?" and my boyfriend began telling him our order, and the guy rudely interrupted and said, "Oh wait, hold on." We were so fricken annoyed. We waited another 30 seconds, and we were going to leave, but the due finally took our order. At the window, they were getting the drinks for another order ready, and they handed my boyfriend a bag. A woman worker said, "Hey, what are you doing?" and he asked for the bag back. Then, the girl and guy were complaining and talking to each other about the customer who was once in front of us, and they were saying crap like "Holy shit, he better not have just made us make this food for no reason." Anyways, they finally gave us our food and we left. Now when we get home and we are about to eat our food, my boyfriend commented that he had to make sure that he had bacon on his Baconator because he didn't taste any... he opened up the bun, and he literally only had 2 small pieces of bacon ON A $7 BACONATOR SANDWICH. We were like wtf... I guess his bacon was on my bacon and cheese baked potato because I had more on that than he had on his sandwich. My food tasted good (I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and the potato). This location went downhill fast within the past few years, and they really are drowning because of their employees. There are two other Wendy's locations just on Harlem Ave. alone that are both about 5 minutes from this location in opposite directions, and I 100% think that I will stick to those other locations instead of this one. read more

As a long time customer, this Wendy's location has been hit or miss for a while now. Customer service, cleanliness, and the lack of care aren't there. I noticed the continual turnover of employees as that really shows in every aspect of this restaurant. There were times when the employees were on break and sitting in the general dining with customers talking loudly or watching something on their phone with the volume blasted. Where is the common sense? There are homeless people who hang out between this Wendy's location and the Shell gas station next door. They mainly come in to use the bathroom and at times are loitering the general dining area. They come right off of the CTA blue line. Employees and managers do not say a word to these people as I know it makes some paying customers uneasy. Some of the employees at this location are incompetent. Most of these employees aren't fully trained as it appears they are thrown into fire. For example, a cashier I was working on my order kept calling for his manager for assistance. I'm cool in someone helping this poor gentleman, but he needed assistance with every scenario, which started to become annoying. Instead of the manager apologizing to me because of how long things were taking he started having an attitude with me. That shows how well this restaurant is ran. It all starts from top. read more

In my never-ending quest to find a decent cup of joe that is also cheap, I decided to take a whack at Wendy's. Now I havent been to a Wendy's to eat in probably 10 years, but I can tell you that even if I did eat fast food now, their recent marketing campaign with the guy in the red braids would certainly send me speeding to the nearest Micky D's. Can you say disturbing? Anyway, Wendy's does serve coffee, but it is only available in one size, small, which equals about a half a cup if you poured it out and measured it. The price is definitely right though: 75 cents. However, you better like your joe lukewarm, bitter and black because thats how it comes at this particular location. My kind of fast food in the area. Thumps up Wendy's. No complaints on any of the items I ordered. You get what you pay for. Wendy's has a wide variety to choose on their menu, and the price was reasonable. My favorite items to order are: Big bacon cheddar cheeseburger, Spicy chicken nuggets, and the parmesan Caesar salad. The quality of food is really excellent, fresh, hot and delicious. The staff goes above and beyond to try and make the customers feel welcome. Very on point to their work. Consistently efficient.
