This is by far the worst fast food restaurant in the history of fast food. Do not go here, otherwise expect to wait 30 mins to get food, even when the business is dead with no one there. I agree with the other reviewers. It hard to mess up chain food but they do. I normally find that Wendy's has pretty reliable food. Skip this one and head down the road. The chili was watered down and not nearly filled. The burger was in two pieces and wilted lettuce. I went through the drive through and I could hear the employees bickering even from outside. Very poor. Don't go here unless you want to be disappointed. Not fast at all, nasty bathrooms/no toilet paper or regular paper. Extremely horrible service I was ordering in the drive thru and when I finished ordering the lady didn't get my other combos and then I had to call her back, then I told her the rest. When I went up to the window I asked to tell me my order and she also didn't get that I asked for my chicken sandwich plain and had to repeat it over again. After finishing through the drive thru she didn't add my moms order and pissed me off. I went back inside to a huge line of people and waited 20 minutes until my sad told me she didn't want it anymore. This delayed 40 minutes of our drive home. Ok ok well the plain burgers are good but the bacon is undercooked or raw I went in 2 days ago and got a bacon cheeseburger and of course it was raw I had it late at night and after I ate it I went to bed the next day I was cutting grass and I noticed that I started to burb a lot and it reeked smells like rotten eggs (didn't have breakfast yet) and started to continue after a while I just barfed it up it smelled so bad my friend threw up so I never will EVER comeback EVER again oh and the fries are cold and smell bad and THEY need salt but if u go ask them for salt THEY PUT to much bathroom needs work wow it is bad and I still see people go there I feel bad for them and the burgers taste like they been left over well I like the look of the salads and it's kind of good the place looks cool but the food it drools I mean just cook the bacon please read more

Stopped for breakfast on 12/27/2020 at 10:10 a.m. and was told "no soup for me." In this case only breakfast available. Purchased a lame avocado salad, 10 PCs dreadful chix nuggets and a lemonade that was 90% ice. No wonder McD's Nextdoor was slammed. Blah! read more

Wow. I don't expect much from a fast food joint, but this place is horribly underwhelming. I was there for 20 minutes waiting patiently for the one poor front counter person to take and fill all the counter orders. They were out of salad. The drink machine was out of ice. The carbonation was out on the drink dispenser. The "freshly brewed" tea was the most insipid essence of iced tea I've ever had the misfortune of tasting. The one thing that would help these crap fries go down with my stale burger? Ketchup. ....and they were entirely out of ketchup. When driving through Emporia, just go somewhere else. Pure Trash... All I ordered was a 4 piece kids meal & the fries & nuggets were old & cold! The dining area is closed so I had to wait in the long drive thru line again to return my food. It's evident that the staff do not take pride in what they do. I understand it's fast food; but serve people what you'd like to be served. If I could give negative stars I would. I haven't had Wendy's in forever so I decided on it on my trip south on 95. The cashier taking my order seemed disinterested but the food came out quick. I went to fill up the ketchup cup and the dispenser sprayed everywhere. The spicy chicken sandwich I had was okay, a little too much mayo. The fries were nice an crispy. My soda had way too much ice, penny pinching I guess. Very average experience. read more

I'm very upset that Wendy's allows this location to be open the way it is. I don't see how this place can be called fast food! It took almost 10 minutes tonight for ALL of our food to be on the tray for us, 2 drinks, 2 fries and 2 burgers took TEN MINUTES. By the time we sat down my burger was cold from waiting so long for our drinks and fries. They didn't even fill my husband's lemonade all of the way up either. Both ketchups in the lobby were empty, the napkin dispenser was broke, there was a broom and dustpan propped up next to a table the entire time we were there, and I won't even mention the bathroom. Plenty of workers there and nothing was getting done. This location looks as if Wendy's Corporation doesn't even know it exists, I've never been so disappointed at a Wendy's before. Quite possibly the sketchiest Wendy's ever. We stopped here for lunch on the way home from vacation. I'll admit I've never been in even a 3 star Wendy's but I'm sure they exist somewhere. I could tell from walking in that this was not that place. Is apathetic a trait they hire for? The bathrooms were filthy. Let me just start with that. Only two registers so the line moved super slow but since this is a good pit stop location there was a super long line most of the time. Two of our orders were wrong. Not super wrong but if the cashier was paying actual attention she'd heard me say a #1 with cheese. Seriously, cheese was all I wanted on that burger. I was excited to get my check in reward of a frosty except the snails pace of the line and our desire to get the heck out overrode it. And let's not forget the pandhandler standing at the the door. So I work local to this Wendy's. I paid 7.88 for a Spicy chicken combo which I have no problem paying for good fast food. HOWEVER when I got back to my office less than 5 mins away to eat my fires tasted OLD and my chicken sandwich was hard as a rock and cooked to death like it sat under a heat lamp all day YESTERDAY and was reheated today it was tough and chewy the few bites I did mange to eat!!!!! Wendy's usual has good food. But shame on this one's employees for serving food like what I had today! Threw most of it away..... Avoid this particular Wendy's. They were out of the salad I wanted, so I made another choice - and was charged more that the price on the menu board. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, I was told (and quite rudely, too) that the price in the computer was the right one. The manager never even looked at the board. In the kitchen were two strips of fly traps (the sticky orange ones, not fly paper) that were chock full of dead flies. How gross can you get. Really, dead flies hanging next to the spot where they are making our food. The manager pulled her headset away from her ear and went right back to dealing with food without washing her hands. The gloves that the cooks were wearing were kinda nasty, too, i wonder how often they change them. The cashier was going back and forth from cash handling and scooping up French fries. I watched her grab the fry cup by the inside rim and am fairly certain that her hands came into contact with the fries in the bin. Piss poor service. Just used the drive thru on the way to my kids practice. Ordered a Chili Cheese Baker potato and it was put in the bag sideways and when pulled out of the bag the lid was separated from the bottom and cause hot chili and cheese to fall in my lap! Also missing my fries in my order and it took 10 minutes to get our food in the first place. Will never stop here again and will pass the word along to friends and family that frequent there. I don't know if I've ever taken the time to write a restaurant review, but feel compelled to warn others about the Emporia Virginia Wendy's. My family is a fan of the restaurant chain, but we had a very poor lunch experience at the Emporia Wendy's on Friday, April 6, 2012. I've never seen a food line move more slowly, and most of it was due to a poor performing employee. She was clearly unable to perform the duties of filling the orders (as evidenced by the extraodinarily slow service), and we saw many prospective customers give up and leave after standing in line. On several occasions, the employee taking orders stopped taking orders from waiting customers due to the backed up orders. Our order was also improperly filled, and some of the hot food was cold. When you're on the road travelling, and need a quick bite - it is imperative that fast food be fast. Wendy's management should address this service issue. read more
