I know what you may be thinking. 5 stars? "Excuse me, ma'am, this is a Wendy's." And I totally get that most people who take the time to leave a Yelp review for a national fast-food chain are detailing negative experiences. But these days, I'm all about the positive. So, please allow me to herald the unsung, hard-working, drive-thru employees at the Northland Wendy's. It's true I have never stepped foot inside this Wendy's, but why would I when the drive-thru has been so reliably amazing to me? Your mileage may vary, but in my experience, this location has NEVER gotten my admittedly fussy order wrong. As a person who has visited many of the other Wendy's locations in the Kansas City area, I can attest that they either have subpar service and/or have gotten my order wrong greater than 25% of the time. I have come to expect a suboptimal experience at most Wendy's and that's okay. People aren't perfect and mistakes happen. But THAT is what makes this location so special. It has consistently friendly staff who hustle and are attentive to detail. I can count on these guys. Armour Rd. We were running late and hubby needed a sandwich. Stopped at the Wendy's in NKC and went through the drive through. He got a spicy chicken sandwich. It was perfect. The employees were friendly and the sandwich was very good. It truly was fast too. Normally, we don't eat much fast food but this was a good sandwich. read more

I did a mobile order here today. I added ingredients to my burger. The burger I received was more like an only ingredients instead of add, but not totally. I don't know what screen they were reading. There was no ice in my iced tea. They didn't give me a straw. The lids were not on the cups all the way. the drive-through women were unfriendly. They threw sauce in my bag that was ghost pepper ranch when I picked honey mustard and sweet-and-sour sauces. I had to go back to the drive-through because I did catch that before I left. She was unfriendly at the window when I went back through for the sauce. This location just keeps getting worse. I might have to drive a little further to a different one. read more

My dine-in lunch experience was A-OK. I found the service at the counter to be fast and friendly, with a nice new exterior and interior which included two order kiosks and plenty of natural light. The dining area could have been a little cleaner. This location has a drive-thru. read more

I created a yelp account specifically becuase of how bad my experience was, i went through the drive through and asked for a water cheese burger and fries and she gives me a jr cheeseburger (without asking) and a small water, like i did not ask for a certain size but wow thanks. Secondly the food is unappetizing and bland, and she didnt ask if i wanted ketchup or anything. Both people working drive through had their mask on correctly, but as I picked up my food, the two women actually handling the food in the background had their mask down under their nose. Wont be back here, don't want Covid with my food. Wear it correctly, having a mask on underneath your nose does not prevent the spread of Covid 19 nor does it prevent you from getting it. read more

Went inside to order. Stood at the cuonter for a few minutes. Occassionally an employee would glance at me. After a few minutes I politely said "hello." No one asnwered despite them clearly hearing me. Someone from the back yelled "counter!" but nobody wanted tocome take my order. The employee who was closest to me yelled back that he was "busy" and not doing 'it." I continued waiting and got a few more glances but nobody had any intention of comign to take my order after several minutes so I had no option but to leave and go elsewhere. read more

The employees at this restaurant are always so friendly! I ordered at the drive thru. I got a Dave's Single for my husband with only cheese and mayonnaise (I know, I know! He's missing out on the deliciousness by skipping all the other toppings). I also ordered the Chicken Caesar salad with ranch instead of Caesar dressing. You can't beat the price of $12.55 for both. The real star is the salad which is huge, with crisp fresh lettuce and a sliced chicken breast. You get a packet of Parmesan crisps to add. The burger was prepared as requested but I was given Caesar dressing instead of ranch. Fortunately I checked the bag before I left the window. They quickly exchanged it for me and I was on my way. All restaurant employees, including fast food employees, are working so hard right now due to staffing issues. Supply chain issues are causing many places to be out of certain items. Be patient and kind to these employees. They are doing the best they can during these difficult times. I appreciate these employees for always being polite and professional even though they are working under difficult conditions. read more

I spent $30 on food that was totally wrong when I called right after I left they pick up the phone answered and hung up I tried calling today about my food being wrong the nuggets were raw on the inside and I spoke to a manager named JD he act like he didn't care not once at all nor tried to fix the problem he said he was going to call his other manager and see what he should do it's already been one day they told me to wait two more days until the other manager comes in to see what they can do but it just seems like they're all giving me the runaround and not trying to fix the problem especially when I had my receipt and the food. I would normally never review a fast food restaurant, as every single one makes mistakes every now and then. However, something needs to be said.... I placed my order in the drive thru, asked for a number 7 plain. Which came up on the screen. When I got home and took my sandwich out, I knew without even taking off the wrapper that they had put everything on it even though I asked for it plain. Now, as frustrating as that is, like I said before its not something that would cause me to post a bad review on Yelp. What really upset me was, not even an hour before I went to Wendy's my brother also went there to place an order. He was getting food for his wife, who had just given birth to their son and was craving Wendy's as her first meal. He also asked for his burger with nothing on it, and when he got to the hospital they discovered it had everything on it. Eh. I have come here a few times since I moved to the area. I have never been satisfied with my decision to spend money here. Some of the items I ordered did not make it in the bag last time and this time my sprite is flat, my fries are cold like they've been sitting for a while, and my burger isn't that hot either. There are two 5 star reviews for this store. But there is something odd about them. first, both reviews are from out of town bots... I mean people. second, their grammar and sentence structure is perfect. Pretty sad when you have to pay people to review your store. I went there tonight and it was dead. 2 ppl in lobby and maybe 2 cars in drive thru. I ordered a #2 lettuce and tomato only and no cheese with a plain baked potato. I ordered my husband a large chili with cheese and a sour cream and chive potato. I was standing there waiting on my food and noticed they had one potato left but was apparently cooking some others. They put my sandwich on ghe tray as well as butter, sour cream and my huband's chili. They took the potatoes out and they weten't even cooked. It took 3 employees to check and rewrap to cook them some additional time. After a few minutes they told me to sit down and they would bring me the potatoes. I asked how long. She said 5 minutes. I had already been waiting at least 10 minutes. I said if you have one already cooked, give it to my husband and I will take fries. They looked confused.WTF!!!. They give me his potato and my fries. I sit down and open my sandwich wrapper and it has CHEESE. Cant they read. Apparently not! I bring it to the counter and it took them 5 minutes to remake and they almost put mayo on it! Then the manager was like "No cheese. Only lettuce and tomato" to her enployee. No apology made to me for all the f*ck ups made. The woman in drive thru had been waiting for her food so she came in. They still had not started cooking the meat for her order. Some employee rolled her eyes at the woman and someone was handling food with no glove. Now there is about 15 ppl waiting for their food and the employees couldn't get the orders right. The employees here are so peppy and nice and have probably the best attitudes I've ever experienced at a fast food chain. One guy was literally singing "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" and everyone was smiling. Our food was ready before we finished paying (and it lunch rush hour). Kudos to this Wendy's for knowing how to deliver on both the stellar customer service and speedy food service. read more

I came in to dine in and the place was so trashy and dirty, tables werent cleaned so we cleaned ours, the floors were filthy with food and napkins, went to the restroom to wash my hands after cleaning the messy table and guess what the bathrooms were a big mess, sink had dirty water all over it like someone took a bath in there!! Proceeded to pick up my food and it was cold as room temp and the cheese wasnt even melted on my burger, so i got me a refund and they had the nerve to tell me to keep the food, no i do not want this and the main reason o got a refund!! Pulled up to the intercom around 9:55, only one in line, light are on, 2 employees taking a smoke break. Waited 2 and a half min with no greeting or nothing, concerned, I pulled up to the 2nd window with a female on her phone with her headset sitting on the counter, right next to her texting hand. Its a brand new building and its a shame I will never get to experience it again. read more

It takes forever for someone to get to the counter to take your order. They need to hire more people, but the hiring manager is never there or they say apply online. The food wasn't too bad, but the dining area could have been cleaner. read more
