It was all edible, but there were problems with every single thing we ordered. We started with the marinated mushroom & sausage flatbread: one of the better items and fairly tasty with a tomato sauce base, could have used a tart element like a balsamic drizzle to wake it up a bit. My husband got the Korean bbq burger, which at $27 was honestly a bit insane and doubly so when it wasn't good. There's not a single thing that was wrong, the whole conception is an epic fail. A beef burger should not have an intense taste of soy. Sorry, harsh but true. The exorbitant price is insult to injury. The ham and cheese croquettes should never have been offered with the cinnamon sugar dusting. Another bizarre pairing that makes no sense in your mouth and adds nothing. The dijonnaise was good if a bit mild... amp up the savory flavor and put more ham in the mix with a touch more salt please. Finally, the Public Salad was a good base but needs a bit of a vinegar component to make it sing. I'd recommend red wine vinegar, just a small splash in the dressing. Made a huge mistake and got the steak add on. Cold, stringy steak-um type product thrown on the top in one large lump. Their smashburger is not a thin smashed patty that may come to your mind. It's a standard 6oz pre-form that they call "smash" as an excuse to put a steak weight on it and cook it beyond recognition. The brioche bun is "fake brioche." Has the outer look, but is super dry and tasteless. The irony was I ordered and paid for a side salad. It came in a tiny soup cup and in it had the shredded lettuce and pico I would expect on the nachos. Just really was hopeful. I could see a good vibe at times in there if you're under 25yrs old. Otherwise, the atmosphere offered little to off-set the meal.

Our family of 8 skied a few days after Christmas, and after we ordered our lunch, the wait for our (very basic!) order was very long (at least 25-30 minutes). Then when the food finally started being delivered, it arrived in "shifts" so that half our group ended up finishing their lunches before the other half had even received their orders. (First the chili in bread bowls was delivered, then 5 minutes later the burger orders were delivered, then 5 minutes after that, the deep-fried items arrived, etc...) We understand that off-season staffing in the Berkshires is a challenge, but it was disappointing not to be able to share lunch with each other at the same time, and the slow-down in everyone being able to eat delayed our return to the slopes as we'd wished. The food was more than adequate for what it is, and the upstairs space & view of the mountain are beautiful as always, but the service needs work.
