We were passing by and stopped by here for lunch. There are about 4 picnic tables (some shaded, some not) on the grass but there appears to be some chairs in the back too. We ordered the ruben, K dog, and Cubano sandwich. While the food was a bit pricey, I can see that they use fresh and good quality ingredients in their food. We had an awesome lunch yesterday at the K Shack: - I had a delicious Beer-Battered Fish Sandwich (Fried cod with Tartar Sauce and lettuce on a Brioche bun) - My wife loved her Vegetable Quiche - To top it off, we had, Homemade Softserve Vanilla Ice cream with the best strawberries I have ever had! Cute little place run by two sweet ladies who seem to be besties. Pulled pork sandwich and zucchini fries hit the spot after a long car ride. Cous cous salad was interesting. Nice picnic tables to sit outside. Great way to start the weekend in the area. No bathroom but the public library next door has one and the front desk attendant greets you with an "aloha" so overall net positive. read more

I've been here several times and will never, never go back. First, is their poor, combative energy each and every time. I've tried to give them more chances thinking they were having a bad day, but they are like that all the time. Second is how they incorrectly charge tax (to corruptly pocket $ for themselves) on items. When I got a coffee and tea - which they are NOT supposed to charge tax on, I asked them about it and they got an attitude and said "this is how it's done in this state, where are YOU from?" These are exempt beverages. Go to ny.tax.gov for more on this. Lastly, they have an aggressive off leash dog that roams around and people who come with their dogs are in constant fear because this. They over charge, scam and admonish customers. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

The women who run this funky little food shack are magical human beings. They're warm and friendly and lunch was good. My wife had a chicken something sandwich in pita bread and gave me a bite. I didn't share my burger and sweet potato fries. We sat on a picnic table, we're greeted by a cat, stared at mountains then hopped in car and returned to reality. read more

This little place is a wonderful summer hit for three fresh, local and organic meals. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was very tasty, well marinated and not overly sweet. Beyond delightful! The fish chowder had a rich flavor without being too heavy. And the bean sandwich came on fresh bread, with delicious flavors and textures from the bean-based hummus. I consider myself an onion ring connoisseur and typically order them, when I find a tavern or restaurant with a history. In this case I took a chance on this local take-out, The K Shack with an appealing menu.
