I stopped in today to pick up an early lunch that I had ordered through the Wendy's app, which at least made the process quick and straightforward. Inside, the dining room looked reasonably clean, and the Coke Freestyle machine was fully operational, which is always a small relief when you are counting on it for a specific drink. My junior cheeseburger deluxe was put together the way it should be, and the four piece nuggets were warm and tasted fresh enough. The fries, unfortunately, were warm but undercooked and far too salty, which set things back a bit and made the meal feel uneven. I am not entirely sure, but I think the lemonade I received was the full sugar version rather than the sugar free one I had intended. Thankfully, the Freestyle machine had the sugar free lemonade available, so I was able to refill my cup and correct that part of the order myself. All in all, it landed in the territory of an OK experience. Not terrible, not great, just serviceable enough for a quick midday stop. The service was terrible. Have been there 3 times and been disappointed each time. First time; got my order wrong, second time breakfast food was not good and definitely was soggy, therefore was hanging around for a while. The third and most recent incident was when they closed the indoor dining, locked the doors and made everyone go through the drive through. This Wendy's is next to I75 therefore I assume they get plenty of business but seem to have a problem staffing. This place is awful- from top to bottom. They should not be open to the public. The restaurant is not well kept, the manager is obtuse.

Not all Wendy's are equal. Early airport arrival lead us to this Wendy's. Literally the first customers in the door the place was a mess! Counter spills from the night before and food crumbs everywhere and smeared food on the windows (which I tried to photograph but wouldn't turn out). The bathroom had a strange stench which I didn't want to identify and there was a gapping hole in the drop ceiling revealing insulation. I do not usually right reviews nor read them, But I am so mad I felt that I had to do this. I had to walk up to the drive up window and order ( Because COVID) I ask for one kind of sandwich walk 10 steps checked order and notice that I got another kind. When I knocked on the window again and told the young girl why trying to give her back the order she turned her back and said throe it away. It was three people together one seemed to be a manager. Now understand there is some kind of toaster oven at that window where one of the woman cook's. All three are close enough to touch one another. So she hand me my order and said (here you go) But with and attitude like I was bothering her so I ask ,why are you giving me attitude you messed up my order? All why trying to give her back the other bag, Well the manager jumps in and said. She is not giving you attitude sir. And as I kept reaching out to give the other bag while asking why is it my job to get rid of this? she said that they were not allowed to take it back. So I said, OH I didn't know that, you could have told me that from the start. Notice right before the manager said that, the young girl took the bag and indeed had tossed it in the trash. The manager {with attitude} said have a nice day sir! So I walked away and did not eat that sandwich! I do not it fast food much because of health reasons. That breakfast sandwich (about one a month) was one of my cheats. Wendy's was my favorite fast food place! NOW HERE THIS! I am a man of my word. I will NOT EAT FROM WENDEY'S EVER AGAIN! Went for a quick meal after 11 pm and found all the staff laughing with each other and not attending to orders in a timely manner. Worse, none of the five employees in the late night shift were wearing masks or using safety gloves when handling food. When we observed the unsanitary food handling we requested a refund. The food was still being prepared. The young female night manager was extremely rude and yelled at us; both mature adults saying " If you expect people to wear masks you should not go out". Obviously did not get the memo that masks are mandatory in Florida now. This Punto Gordo Wendy's is taking great risks with Covid exposure to the staff and customers with this irresponsible and deeply offensive attitude. Completely unacceptable, Unsanitary and uncivil business. Not like any Wendy's I have ever gone to before. Believe the other negative reviews here and stay away for your own safety! By the way, Go to Arby's next door. They delivered our food with proper handling and all employees were wearing masks. Very efficient with virtually no wait time. Ordered the 5 for $5 cookies (chocolate chip) and they had to make some which is fine I don't mind waiting. I got the cookies and went home only to discover they weren't cooked fully. I waited for cookies to be made and I was given uncooked cookies. There's a difference between soft and uncooked and these weren't cooked fully in the middle just the outer edges. This place is indignant of their customers, after walking up to the drive threw, due to the main lobby being closed. 1 I was treated like a clown. 2 No one is wearing a mask. 3 With the manager leading the pack. 4 After paying for my food, they acted like they were doing me a favor. Then 30 minutes later I watched a homeless guy hanging in the drive threw for 15 minutes. The manager went out to change the sign and the guy just keeps wandering up to the window and then they gave him a drink. That he poured out in the parking lot. I had visited this location several times, the place is ALWAYS dirty, the dining area, the condiment area, the visible food prep area, the drink machine, the floor, all NASTY. I like Wendy's food, so I have tried them a few times thinking that maybe it was just an off day the 3 or 4 times that I found the place to be dirty. On April 7th, at 9 PM, I walked into the store, every single table was dirty, the floor was packed with garbage, the soda machine was absolutely disgusting, a total disgrace. The kitchen looked like it hadn't been cleaned in forever, and the service was ridiculous. There was a man eating in the dining room with his dog at his feet, I'm sorry, a restaurant is NOT A PLACE FOR ANIMALS! I actually took the survey listed on the receipt and I elected for someone to call me, guess what, no one called! Whoever is running this place is really not a very good business owner, it is a shame. I would say that a very high percentage of people who visit this location will never return. Since the hours of operation vary depending on location I would suggest turning off the signs in the drive-through when you are closed that way somebody like myself doesn't sit there for 5 minutes 45 minutes after the restaurant actually closed. But Hey what do I know when you leave all the lights on and makes people think that the place is actually open especially this particular location is right next to a truck stop in has a lot of out of town visitors. Terrible service, completely wrong order, all the food was cold, and couldn't even get a refund. When I got home and opened my burgers I received 3 Jr Bacon cheeseburgers when I paid for $20 worth of food. The fries were ice cold and the nuggets were almost the same. The high school dropouts behind the counter could barely take my order, and mumbled under their breath the whole time. After 20 minutes of waiting I finally got my order and went home into straight disappointment. I called the number to get a refund but the manager on duty says I need a receipt but the idiots who took my order threw it in the trash can before I could even ask for it. I like Wendy's, especially their chili, Jr Bacon Cheeseburgers, vanilla Frosty's and their salads. However, IMHO this is the worlds worst. The franchisee is apparently clueless, as the issues are obvious. The people on the line simply cannot get the orders straight; and if your bill comes to, say, $5.37 and you give them a $10 bill and 12 cents, they aren't bright enough to figure out the change correctly. Oh...and recently I got a Strawberry Pecan salad with diced chicken, only to discover when I got home that they had forgotten the chicken. Do yourself a favor...save yourself the grief and go elsewhere. read more
