Went to Zaxbys to try the shrimp . Very good. But, it seems that while they did get rid of the horrible taste in the soda machine, the soda is very weak. Diet Coke tastes like it's really watered down. One other suggestion to Zaxby's a whole- bring back the chicken fingers tacos! read more

I was vacationing in Sarasota and saw zaxbys commercials so decided to stop on my way home...I had never been. I ordered the nibblerz with Buffalo sauce and fried pickles. The little sandwiches were super messy. I thought the tenders would be tossed in the sauce but the sauce was just squirted on the bread and tenders.. I mean Buffalo sauce under my nails, so so messy. I always grab a wad of napkins but these didn't begin to touch the mess that were my hands. The fries are crinkle cut and definitely needed ketchup. Everything was very salty. My wife and I are always on the lookout for good food at a reasonable price. Having been brought up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, we certainly had never heard of Zaxby's at 19590 Cochran Blvd, Port Charlotte, but we decided to give it a try and we are glad we did! The place is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. Once we entered the place, we saw that it was spacious and clean and we could tell that they fried chicken because the aroma was prevalent. The eating area was large and bright with plenty of windows. We felt right at home. Once we looked over the menu, my wife ordered the Zaxby's Signature Sandwich meal and I ordered the Zaxby's Signature Spicy Sandwich meal with extra pickles. Both meals came with a drink and fries. TBH, I wasn't expecting much as this seemed to me like a burger joint that just served Chicken, but I was surprised. The sandwich was VERY tasty and the chicken was moist and not dry. The sauce was not overpowering and the fries were good. They got my order spot on as I ordered extra pickles and they did double the amount my wife had. My wife ordered hers without sauce and that was done completely correct. We were happy. The service was good and friendly and the food was excellent at a reasonable cost. You should try this place out. It is not fancy, but it is a solid choice in Port Charlotte and we will return. read more

First time trying Zaxbys. I'm not a chicken tender fan but I did enjoy the chicken fingers I had. Problems were: Bread on the side was burnt beyond recognition. The counter person was very disinterested in providing service. The fries were not fully cooked and there was no Coleslaw with my meal. I was told that they ran out of coleslaw. How can you run out of a staple like coleslaw. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Asian salad so I guess we will be back. Hopefully they will have coleslaw by then read more

Another one of my favorite "Chain" resturants. It's hard to give a Chain resturant more than 3 stars, although I eat here often. We go here for a quick meal, always the Zalads. My wife says the salads are too big. I never complain about "too much". This place satisfies my "hot" fetish. I get the Blue Zalad - Buffaloed. But then I get a side of "Insane" sauce. Drizzle (1/2) that over the salad, and I'm in heaven. I once asked them to use Insane sauce instead of Buffalo. WOW, I was crying! My lips were on FIRE! Won't do that again - lol. read more

The food was OK, the chicken sandwich is comparable to Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich, and the fries are subpar, very much like Popeyes. This was my first, and most likely my last time at this restaurant, and this chain, due to how rude the employee was, who took my order through the window. I will not give my money to businesses that have no respect for the customers responsible for them having a paycheck. The chicken sandwich was not even spicy, and did have a spicy mayo on the bottom of it, much like Popeyes, and to boot, the fries were barely cooked, and, barely coated with whatever seasoning they would've had on there, if I even got the chance to fully taste it. I was so excited to finally go to Zaxby's on Cochran kids came to visit from FSU we get there walk inside no one is in only 2 employees no one says sorry we are only doing drive thru. We finally figure it out go back to drive thru order food get home. Take the lid off the coleslaw. It smelt like rotten milk. At this point I cannot eat it. Kids ate their chicken tenders not even 2 hours later everyone was sick. $38+ for 3 meals. Very upset. This used to be one of our favorite places. People please get back to work. Businesses are suffering. I am giving 1 star because the food made us sick. Check your products rotate stock. You cannot sell rotten food to people. read more

This is the 2nd time I've eaten here and both visits were in different cities. The ambiance and the decor are super casual. The food just isn't that fresh. It's a fast food chain, so good in a pinch. Came an hour before closing time , it was completely empty , the girls working were very friendly. I had a grilled chicken Caesar salad and it was yummy! Zaxbys is by far the best place to enjoy chicken fingers, we have loved them for years and this Port Charlotte location always delivers. However, on this visit we were sad to see that just about every table had not been cleaned, there were spills on the floors that had been there for awhile leaving it sticky when walking. The restaurant was built very nicely. The pictures inside are very appetizing. It's still new so getting in line was rough. About halfway in line they switched up the line so it went quicker which was great. They give you a number and allow you to find a seat and they bring you your food. There are a small amount of tables, chairs and booths compared to how many customers have been here since I got in. The food is very good when I had an issue with sauce, a manager took care of it right away. I ordered the chicken tenders plate and got a drink and two sides and was very satisfied. Good food but this is a restaurant that's going to fail because of lack of employee training and or poor management at least in the front of the house. As another reviewer said, its filthy. Many empty tables that sit uncleaned. Sticky floors. Sticky everything. Perhaps they mop but with cold water just pushing the sticky everywhere? The first time we attributed this to busy after lunch rush but the second visit here was during slow Sunday 3pm-ish. We sat at a crummy table and watched employees walk past all the dirty tables through our entire meal. Not going back. Not doing the drive thru either because if you can't handle the basics of the dining area, I can't trust how you handle the kitchen. read more

I ate at the PC Zaxby's on 1/25/17. The service was friendly and the food was prepared quickly. I had the Blue Zalad with blackened chicken. The quality and flavor of the food was good. My only compilant was that the dining area was filthy. The counter in the soft drink area was a sticky mess. In the dining area, I'm exaggerating but there wasn't a single clean table to sit down at, and it wasn't busy either. Been to this location twice. First time ordered from drive through and it wasn't bad. Decided to go back with our daughter and her friend and eat inside. BIG MISTAKE...the place seemed to have no leadership and the dining room was filthy...this was mid afternoon well past any lunch rush. All of the tables were dirty and trays stacked up. Really good. Staff is friendly and the food is good. I stop here once or twice a week. I pretty much had everything on the menu at this point. It's all good, all of it. I'm glad it's far from my house so I can't eat lunch there everyday. I had to start getting the salad because my pants started not to fit. Salad was good too. This was my first time ordering from Zaxby's restaurant. I have never encountered this particular chain growing up in New Jersey. I stopped by on the way home from work to try it out. Honestly, it was over-priced: A 12 pc Zax Pac was $24.99! You get 12 small chicken tenders, 2 sides, 4 pieces of Texas Toast, potato chips with seasoning on them, and a half gallon of Iced tea. It wasn't awful..just not worth me going from North Port down to get the same type of chicken I can get at KFC in North Port, or, pretty soon, Popeye's in North port. Sorry....Publix Super Market has better tasting chicken tenders for less $$.
