The managers Paul and Jacquis are very disrespectful and unprofessional. They have loud music playing and rude when speaking to customers. Yesterday, they were having a party in the lobby as two employees worked the line. when I asked for the manager to resolve the issue she explicitly told me to "Shut the F*** Up" and threw my food at me through the window. I've been going to this Wendy's off and on since the 90's. This restaurant was finally remodeled in 2020. I have noticed a few staff changes in the last year. Today's breakfast crew was great. The lady who took my order was so courteous and good at what she does. She spoke to me and looked me in the eye when speaking. She appeared to me to really care about my safety and the other staff and wished me a good day. I am grateful for the food industry and others for working even during the pandemic. Wireless payments at the drive up window are inconvenient at best because you have to hand your device to staff in order to complete transaction's. It's a major turnoff to me because it defeats the purpose of privacy and security that the wireless payment systems were created for. In addition The ability of the youngsters working at this location to articulate the wireless payment process when asked is frustrating at best. THIS IS THE WORST WENDY'S, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE and AT THE DRIVE THRU! I sat at the drive-thru speaker for over 17 minutes to place an order and the only thing I was told was that 'we're doing a shift change' That was at approximately 3:58 PM today Monday, July 29. At 4:17 I decided to leave, after no additional comments were made at the speaker by any of the employees, 'working'. I called out, hello two or three times hoping someone would hear me and come to take my order. There was a line of people from the drive-thru speaker behind me, approximately eight of us. When I got to the drive-through window to where I would pick up an order if I had one, I paused to see if anyone would acknowledge I was leaving. Someone came to the window as I was pulling away, so I backed up and asked was the shift change completed. The young lady there, told me that they were done and she was about to take my order. So I asked can I give you my order now? She stated no that I could not, because I didn't stay at the speaker and I would have to get back in line (behind the eight people who were behind me) in order to place an order. I asked if there was a protocol for changing shifts so customers did not have to wait in line excessively, while the new shift got started? She didn't understand what I was asking her and asked if I would like to speak to a manager. I was surprised there was one on duty and I responded yes. She barely stepped away from the drive-thru window counter and said oh I forgot the manager is busy right now and cannot come to the window. I asked if she could come to the window so I can speak to her for a moment again and she said she can't come to the window. So I said OK this is BS! I proceeded to leave and started calling the store as I pulled out of their parking lot. The phone rang awhile. It was about the eighth or ninth ring someone picked up the phone and promptly hung up. This made me angry and I called back over and over again, three times inside of five minutes and the only thing that happened was someone would pick up the phone and hang it up! This was completely unacceptable! This is not the only time I've ever had a problem at this Wendy's location, I have had several. But enough is enough, I have had it with their bad services and attitudes. There are many of my neighbors who don't go there either because of the same reasons. I don't go to Wendys all the time maybe two or three times a month. But it is close to home to traffic lights away. But why do I have to put up or should anyone put up with such bad service on a regular basis? RUDENESS, LACK OF MANAGERIAL SUPERVISION DURING A SHIFT IS NON-EXISTENT. There was a manager on shift today, but I was told she/him was busy and could not speak to me. window. I called numerous times, someone would pick up the phone and hang up! They KNEW it was a customer complaint and refused to answer. I called the headquarters for Wendys and have gotten calls back from the district manager two or three times in the past 3 to 4 years. I've been apologized to, sent emails for free meals, which I have not used. A free meal is not going to make anyone happy especially if they get the free meal and still have bad treatment. I must say that between the hours of 1p and approximately 3p, M-F, there is a team at this Wendys who give phenomenal service. They are pleasant and greet you as if they're happy and glad you came. They give you your orders accurately, hot, and with a thank you for coming and enjoy your day. Kudos to them! The manager/owner or whoever, needs to use that team to teach Customer service to the remainder of the employees at that location. I am dead serious about this recommendation. SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE AT THIS LOCATION, SOON! In the meantime I will be checking with the city of Shaker Heights to find out if there is something that can be done or force the owner to make some changes. Changes that also include the structure of their drive thru lane. If they cannot accept cash or credit cards, there should be a sign posted before a car enters the drive thru lane. The reason being is that there is only one way in and one way out. So if they cannot service a customer who is doing a card transaction, that customer has to wait in line behind as many as 4 to 5 cars before you can get out of line. SO, if the service is bad as today, a customer can be stuck in place in that line, waiting to get out. It is rare that I give a negative review of anywhere, especially not a fast food place. I knew I would be waiting forever to get food here but there are really no other convenient options close to my home. But I got home to discover my very simple order was not right at all- I was missing my two orders of nuggets completely and was given a sour cream and chives baked potato instead of the broccoli and cheese one I ordered. By far the worst Wendy's I have been to. And this is not the first time I feel like it's every time. First time I waited in line for like 20 mins for them to say they are closed and it's 12:30 pm. Ok things happen but the second time I ordered a double stack 4 for 4 and they only put one patty on the burger. DON'T come here if you're in a hurry. From the time I walked in to receiving my food was 20 minutes... not a one time thing either, this has been my experience every time I've been at this location. After finally getting my food I unwrap my baconator. Now I know these things are greasy, but my baconator buns were soggy from so much grease. Friendly workers and the food is usually decent, it's just very slow. Inside is kind of dank and outdated. Definitely needs updating. read more
