Glove in the taco salad. WTF!
    Lawrence L.

What in the world is wrong with this place? I've been here a few times, but this was the worst. 1st, why is it that I have to repeat my order in drive thru 4 TIMES??? Fix your doggon headsets!!! 2nd, 1 was the first car in line. Why did it take 6 minutes for 2 4for4s, a small chili and a taco salad? If you had to make more fries or something, at least you can say something. The girl collected my money, then about 4 minutes later, some other lady (I assume the manager) tried to collect again When I told her I already paid, she closed the window and stormed off. My food finally comes and I'm good (so I thought). The 4 for 4 meals were good, and the chili was was on point. But when my wife went to eat the taco salad, she found A USED GLOVE under the bed of lettuce!!! What in the entire hell is going on??? I'm sure we have at some point find a hair, and in a lesser extent, a bug in the salad. But how does AN ENTIRE GLOVE get missed, and you just gonna throw lettuce up there all willy nilly. Nasty asses! So my wife calls the store. Some "rude as hell" girl gets on the phone (I'll leave her name out) doesn't want to get the manager at first. Then the manager gets on, but refuses to give her name until she says "there's a damn glove in my salad". We get up to the store owner who offers a gift card and wants us to come back, even saying he'll make sure he's there to meet us. Sorry E.L., great chance we will not come back here until you replace this sorry ass staff. This is THE WORST STAFF I've ever experienced at a Wendy's. Guys, go to the store on Military or Newtown. You will likely have a better experience and no foreign objects in your food! UPDATE: The owner did make good on the promise of a gift card for the inconvenience. I'll give a star back for his kindness and professionalism. But until I hear that his staff has been replaced with people who actually care to work there, I'll stay away.

Short changed 16 year old at the Drive Thru window.

No honest employees here. Our 16 year old son was driving home, it was late Saturday night and we drove up to the drive thru to order 2 frostys and 2 fries = $7. I was busy on the phone and gave him a $20 bill. When the change came back it was $2. I instructed him to tell the window server that we were owed another $10. She said "oh you are right, it fell coming out of the cash register". And handed him a folded bill. I was on the phone and should of paid attention. I didn't. We pulled out and headed home before realizing she handed us a $5. The girl knew what she was doing.... COUNT YOUR MONEY!!

Worst Wendy's ever. 3 times in a row they messed up an order. They need to get a new employee for the drive through.

I ordered the Black and Blue burger with sweet potatoes waffle fried, and my son ordered a bacon cheeseburger with regular fries. I got my burger with a little pink, and it was cooked to perfection! Sometimes I am hesitant to get pink because it's been to raw. The burger was not only cooked to perfection, I really loved the bleu cheese sauce and grilled onions. The waffle fries with the cinnamon/brown sugar sauce were great as well. My son also really enjoyed his burger, but he did say his fries tasted like shrimp. I tasted them, and they didn't taste like shrimp but they did have a distinct taste. I can't really describe it, but I didn't like it. Otherwise we had a great visit, one of the best burgers I've had, and really good, quick service! I am sure we were in and out in under an hour with everything still being super fresh!

So when one of the Homies told me about this place I was all in because - burgers - what's not to love. Barrel 17 did not disappoint; when i got there i realized quickly i was the last to know because it was busy. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated but that was cut short by option to sit at the bar. The bartender was working like she had six arms. It was non stop; attentive, taking orders, making drinks, checking back with others, she was truly impressive. The places was jumping; it was busy, casual and didn't slow down from the time we arrived until we left. Parking is challenging, there's a small lot beside the restaurant and a small lot behind it so if you can car pool you'll benefit yourselves. Now on to the star of the show - the food! The only knock I had was portion size. In a big guy with an even bigger appetite and when i left there i could've eaten my whole meal over again lol. But that's also because it was delicious. I got the mac n cheese starter, the Beast Burger, tater tots , and the biggest slice of chocolate cake I've ever had. Literally the biggest slice of cake ever- twice the size of my burger. Everything was delicious, from start to finish and if i were a person that had a normal appetite i would've left full like my friends did. Will definitely be back!

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

They also have fried green beans and onion rings! I didn't wait long for my food at all and everything was very fresh! Although they gave us one of the tokens that vibrate when your order is ready, Edgar was already bringing my food to me when the token went off. Both times I have been in, the restaurant was very clean and smelled fresh compared to other fast food places. Even the condiment and drink areas are kept clean and well stocked. I really like that their bathrooms are "all gender!" The option to check out with a cashier or using their self-checkout kiosk is nice too. I have had Habit's burgers, chicken sandwich, and salad along with all of their side options, and I think they have a good thing going. If you're looking for quality food, a clean establishment, and good service without going into a traditional sit down restaurant, Habit is a good place to visit! To those that care: The specific incident that caused my review was I had went in on a tuesday for their "taco Tuesday" special. Now because I work by the oceanfront I frequent this place. I've been told they aren't supposed to let you walk out with to go orders on their taco Tuesday, but if I pay for and eat some of my food who is this manager to say I can't leave with a to go box(which in most cases I have), but I digress. I tried to do it today and the manager comes to me with a nasty attitude over me not tipping enough for his standards telling me I can't take my food to go because he doesn't feel I tip enough and "what's a 5 dollar tip gonna do for him". Keep in mind I told him I'm not ordering food for just myself I sometimes take lunch orders from work which is never more than 5 to go small tacos. I've never been rude to this man I'm a quiet person so I usually order wait and leave. I work for a reputable company that sees a lot of tourism and I often recommended this spot to our guests but due to this situation I will be advising people to avoid this place if you're not just going to drink at the end of the night on The Weekend. In the specific event the owner of the restaurant was there and confirmed they weren't supposed to be doing to go tacos which I can respect. What I dont respect is the manager picking and choosing when he wants to follow the rules of the establishment for his own gain.
