Good food, cute spot, & really great prices! We came in on a Saturday night, we got a burger, two hotdogs, and fries. The food was pretty good! The portions are a little small on the fries. It was really loud and busy on this night. Our server sadly never came back for us, we wanted to order more food! The hostess eventually came over and gave us our check. The prices are really reasonable, which is awesome! The ambience is quite beautiful, kind of moving away from a traditional diner at night and was super moody and pretty with low lighting. Out in Va Beach for the craft show and decided to get lunch while out there and stopped at Frank and Patty's. The Good: Really liked the food (dog for me and burger for my son) as well as fries each. I'm a little picky about my hot dogs but was very happy here. It had the perfect amount of ketsup, relish and mustard for me. Sons burger was very good too. Fries were pretty good but kind of pricey for the amount given. The Bad: Finding this place is a pain especially if you are not familiar with the beach area and the noise level is quite loud as it is inside a garage. Oh Frank and Patty's. I love this spot. Funny enough, I didn't even like burgers until I had one here, and now I can't stop thinking about them. The menu is small but very intentionally focused. They offer smash burgers done right, the iconic Norfolk snap dog, ice-cold beers, wine, and classic cocktails, and the prices are honestly great for the quality. The space itself feels like an old-school local diner in the best way. Bar stools, cozy seating, and that nostalgic, no-frills vibe that makes you want to hang out longer than planned. It's small, so definitely expect a wait during busy times, but it's absolutely worth it. They also have outdoor seating, which will be clutch once the warm weather really kicks in. I ordered a Modelo, the F&P style fries, and the Mickey Burger. The fries are next-level, very much giving In-N-Out animal style vibes topped with grilled onions, Goodboy sauce, and cheese. I could eat those alone and be happy. The Mickey Burger comes with a double patty, cheese, Goodboy sauce, pickles, lettuce, onions, and a sesame bun. I subbed the raw onions for grilled onions (highly recommend), and it was perfection. Juicy, crispy-edged, flavorful ... everything a smash burger should be. I truly can't express how good this place is. The service was great, the food was unreal, and I'm already planning my next visit. Next time, I'm definitely trying their espresso martini. Bomb.dot.com! Came here with my wife and overall really enjoyed it. We both went with the Mickey and an order of FP fries, and honestly everything was solid across the board. The burgers were cooked right, packed with flavor, and the fries definitely lived up to the hype. Drinks were a highlight too. The old fashioned was on point, not watered down and not overly sweet. My wife's espresso martini was excellent and easily one of the better ones she has had lately. The price point felt fair for what you get, especially considering the quality and portions. It's interesting to see how places transform from their previous identities. What was once a Baby Izakaya is now Frank & Patty's and they are an absolute hit. You really can't go wrong with a stellar burger, hot dog, and fries. It's an All-American treat during each visit I usually order the Patricia and FP Style Fries. If I'm really hungry, I'll also order a chili cheese snap dog. I'm not even vegan, but the Patricia hits the spot. The food comes out pretty quickly thanks to easy assembly and it's just a great time I've been here for dinner, special DJ events, and most recently for their holiday pop-up bar. You can order tropical holiday drinks that come in absolutely adorable cups. I gotta warn yall tho, the drinks are STRONG LOL. So if you're expecting it to be cutesy and fruity, that's not what you're getting lol. Most of them are made with rum and the rum is rumming. I mean, it's worth the price lol. I recently visited after my company Christmas party and was immediately impressed with their "pop up" Christmas set-up. Their speciality holiday drinks and glasses are funny and delicious! Their smash burgers are fresh and delicious! The parking is limited and this is not someplace I would take a large group as their seating is limited. My friend and I finally stopped into Frank & Patty's since it's been on our list for a while. The location itself is pretty unique, it's tucked in somewhat of an alley with very limited parking. Finding a spot was a little challenging, but luckily we found free street parking, which was a win. We were seated right away at the bar, and it was clear this place has a neighborhood vibe. The bartender seemed to know some of the locals, which was pretty cool. One thing we couldn't help but notice was the bar top lol. It was super sticky to the point where menus, phones, and anything else stuck right to it lol. We were told it's because of the tarnish they use, but it was definitely interesting lol. After looking over the menu, I ordered the Spicy Burger with FP Style Fries and a Margarita. The Margarita was on the tart side, my friend asked for extra agave to balance hers out. The Spicy Burger itself was amazing! I had them put the sweet pepper relish on the side, which was a good idea because I wasn't a fan, but everything else hit the spot. The FP Style Fries were equally delicious, the grilled onions were a great touch. We finished with the homemade Banana Pudding but unfortunately, it was a miss for both of us. It had a salty taste to it, maybe from sea salt or salted caramel, but we didn't enjoy it and it wasn't very sweet. Overall, my burger and fries were great and the service was excellent. Went here on Saturday around 8 pm, was able to park on the main street nearby since the restaurant lot was valet only. The inside is small and it was packed; there were only two seats at the bar left and just one table open, so we opted to sit at the table. We made it in just in time because shortly after we were seated, other people came in so I'm happy we snagged the table. It was raining outside so we couldn't sit out there. Definitely gives date night vibes here which I really liked. I decided to try the Patty burger (10/10) it was cheesy, soft, flavorful, and all around delicious. I absolutely loved my burger. The Spicy burger (10/10) was even more flavorful with the relish, definitely getting this one for myself next time I go. I also had the chili cheese fries (8/10) they were hot and fresh, but the chili definitely needed some spicy and I wasn't a fan of their cut of fries. They were like McDonald fries; I think crinkle fries would've been way better. Didn't try a drink this time, but I plan to when I go back. Service was good as well, we were frequently checked on by our waitress and they were friendly. Came here on the late night after an event at the MOCA. Once we were carded at the door we took a seat and reviewed the menu. I ordered a Mai Tai and my man got a Mexican coke. 3 servers asked us if we were ready to be helped, eager to take our order which is nice to know we would've never been kept waiting lol. The Mai Tai ... well I have no notes it was everything and more, beautifully crafted. I was between the Patty Burger and the Spicy but ultimately got the Patty Burger to try for my first time. My man also got the Patty without pickles. The service was fast as our drinks and burgers came out pretty quickly. The burger was incredibly good. My teeth sunk in soo easily with every bite. The fries were good as well. They were what I like to call "McDonald's" style if you know you know. Although I enjoyed the burger as is, I knew I needed some caramelized onions and some jalapeños. These were the perfect additions to make the burger just how I like. The ambience was nice and intimate even full of people and I enjoyed our visit. Tucked away (think speakeasy vibes, minus the password), this place is all about the burger, and wow, they absolutely deliver. So my husband LOVES Frank and Patty's. He's a regular and has been here dozens of times. He likes to come late at night and get a kid's cheeseburger and I always get the chicken tenders brought home with both their honey mustard and ranch bc both are wonderful. I've probably had the tendies about 10x and they're always wonderful and flavor is consistent. Today, we stopped in for lunch and it wasn't super crowded which was good bc we had our baby, they seated us at their bar area and the waitress was a sweetheart. It's cute inside, simple, but clean. The menu is small, by design, and simple. I had a wedge salad and the tendies (of course). They have several burgers and hot dogs on the menu, as the name implies, and a few desserts. They also have alcohol and will be expanding into the store next door. They have outdoor seating on a cute back patio with firefly lights. Love, love, love! My friend and I have been hearing so much about Frank and Patty's, and we finally had the chance to check it out! It's a very small spot, but definitely has that cozy neighborhood charm. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the hostess, and the bartender welcomed us right away when we sat at the bar. Service was attentive, and I love that they make a lot of their items in-house. We decided to start with margaritas. Mine was a little sour for my taste, but the bartender kindly added a touch more agave to balance it out, which I appreciated. For food, I went with the Patty Smash Burger (no cheese for me), and it was excellent! The fries were crisp and flavorful, and the homemade sauce on the burger really stood out. Everything came out quickly, fresh, and delicious. Since the space inside is pretty small, I imagine weekends could get busy, but there's also a super cute outdoor seating area with lights that would be perfect on a nice evening. We also tried the banana pudding. While I wasn't a huge fan (desserts are tough to win me over since I used to bake professionally at home), I love that they make it on site. Still, the effort is appreciated, and I'd always encourage trying it for yourself. Overall, Frank and Patty's is a spot I'd definitely return to. Dined here on Friday 02/28/2025. This has been on my radar and I am on the hunt for the best smashburger in the 757 and finally had a chance to go with a friend and her family. Total of 4 peeps. When arriving realized that this is in the same spot that was once Baby Izakaya, the sister restaurant for Alkaline, which unfortunately was not able to try when they were open. Upon walking up, there is a sign directing you to go to the back to enter. In the back is cute little courtyard with picnic tables for outdoor dining. It was to cold for that but I could definitely see this being a nice spot when the weather is better. When you walk in there is a little corridor that asks you to please wait to be seated and a nice young man asks how many and lets us know it will probably be around 20min wait, while we wait we peruse the menu, my friend has already been here before with her hubby and raved about the burger and banana pudding. There are no tables inside, it is basically a counter overlooking the grill on one side and a counter on the other side, it is nicely decorate and they are jamming to some 80's tunes that are bringing me back. We are seated at the counter by the wall and everyone looks to be enjoying their burgers and the staff is hustling and immediately asks us what we would like to order and we are not quite ready and they are like its ok take your time and they will bring us water. I decide on the Painkiller drink to start and my friends get the Old fashioned. I order the Mickey and Chili Cheese fries and as we wait for our food the music is just making me feel so nostalgic and enjoying my Painkiller which has a good kick....Mmmm! Fries come first and I am enjoying them, the chili is more like hot dog chili and shredded cheese. The fries are crispy, the chili was OK for me but that is my opinion, nothing wrong with it at all. I will just get the fries plain next time. Now comes our burgers and let me tell you that smash burger did not disappoint at all, nice and thin with crispy edges exactly what a smash burger should be and then some. I just kept mmmm mmmm mmmm to myself. The Mickey is described as "double patty, cheese, goodboy sauce, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions, sesame bun". My burger was not overly sauced and all the toppings were so fresh. This just made it to my #1 for smash burgers. Erica our waitress was just awesome and kept checking on us ( (granted all of them were great and working tandemly, which to me makes a restaurant awesome) and when she asked would we like dessert, my friends ordered the Banana pudding which they had raved about. I am not particularly a banana person but I did try a bite and it was very good but let me tell you about the dessert I had. She mentions they have apple turnover as well so I order that. OMG this dessert is everything that McD apple pie wishes it was! I was expecting a triangle shaped pastry but what I got was two fried apple hand pies topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce! We had the wedge salad, a norfolk snap dog (added dill relish and onion), a Patty Burger and a Mickey Burger with a side of fries... the FRIES ARE LIKE MCDONALD'S... BUT BETTER. Was looking for a quick bite and had a taste for a burger. Saw this place mentioned as having a great smashed burger and had to check it out for myself. It's a small space so there was a little bit of wait for seating. Luckily for me a bar seat became available. I forgot to mention since it was NYE's I was able to catch the last of the holiday decor and drinks. To drink I got the frost bite which came in this holiday shark cup. It was tequila, pineapple, lime, cranberry syrup, sage and spiced cranberry bitters. To eat I went with the Mickey, double patty, cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions and good boy sauce on a sesame boy. The burger had a nice charred crisp but was still juicy. I loved it automatically came with two patties. They have inside and outside seating. We thought probably saying we would be okay would have them sit us sooner but they do not. They go in order as clients come in... so we waited 20 min to get seated at a table that had been available the whole time we were waiting. The food was nothing to go out of my way, thankfully we were around the corner when someone referred that spot to us. The hotdogs are about $3.50 each and all the add ons are about $.50 cents not worth it. The burgers are fresh, they were good, the patties were well seasoned... but for my spicy burger, spicy doesn't necessarily mean spicy it just had thinly sliced fresh jalapeño, good but not spicy. My favorite item were the chili cheese fries, they were thin crunchy and I very much like chili cheese on my fries. The server, served, nothing special. If you're in the area and are craving a burger I would recommend you to go, but if you're not in the area I wouldn't recommend for you to go out of your way. Also they have about 5 parking spots next to the building and parking somewhere else so if you hate the uncertainty of finding parking ummm this is also not your place. Everything here is amazing! I haven't tried a "frank" yet because the burgers have me in a chokehold. If you're in a group the chicken tenders are a great appetizer. Bonus points for the ranch!!
