Pulled an all nighter, trucked in, experienced one of the better designed showers on the road and decided to sit at the kitchen restaurant. Holy smokes! Reminds me of Knottsberry Farm Broast Chicken from back in the days when we'd host our Varsity Southern California CIF post season banquet and of all the choices ..BJs...California Pizza Kitchen...etc...they decided Knotts..but the chicken was excellent! And I would pass up Church's Chicken for the fried chicken here at the truck stop. Mash potatoes, Baja chicken soup, baby back ribs, Meatball marinara ... Well executed***make Shamrock and Sysco proud! However the beef on the pot roast tasted like it was drenched in baking soda and experienced velveting overdose. Overall service was excellent. Chicken fried steak, pancakes and biscuits and gravy, standard meals eggs, bacon etc. I have to save the food was generous and the sweet cream pancakes were excellent! All the food arrived hot and the toast was generously buttered not just a tiny little touch of butter. Very well done. The service was great, no issues and our server was nice and attentive with pleasant conversation. The diner was clean and nobody had any concerns what so ever. We plan on making this a monthly excursion since there was so much to look at and it was very enjoyable. I-80 thanks for a great meal and overall a great experience.

You order at a kiosk in the center of the food court and then wait for your food at the counter. I ordered the Doritos tacos and they were the saddest tacos ever. Each one had a crumbling shell with a barely noticeable smidgen of meat. Her burrito was slightly better, but not by much. What little interaction we had with the staff wasn't impressive either. They didn't seem happy to be there. One and a half stars, rounded down because the more I think about those tacos the more disappointed I get.

I came in was created immediately and do what I wanted the only drawback they didn't have Diet Coke on that day or in the back they were waiting on the truck to come with some more. So I had a Big Mac meal no pickle or onion french fries medium size no salt and I also went with a nugget small order four piece sweet and sour. And I opted to have unsweetened iced tea. Quality the food was very good everything was hot and fresh. Bathrooms are very clean. So definitely above average of other ones holding it at four stars it was an outstanding but it was very good.

I used to think Arby's roast beef tasted like a certain something, but that was probably because of the types of girls I was, er, dating, when I was a teenager. Namely mothers of many many kids lol. With questionable personal hygiene LOL. But anyway, it's the best of a bad bunch of very crap, corporate things you can eat here at Iowa's largest, and indeed the world's largest, truck stop.
