Wendy's is the only fast food on Hwy 301 for miles, unless you go into the city of Starke. This makes it a must by lack of other choices. I have never failed to be disappointed. Service was good, we ate in the dining room. My chicken breakfast sandwich was good and points that they added tomato and lettuce for me. That was impressive. The breakfast wrap my friend ate was not as impressive as my choice. He didn't like it. What stands out for this particular store is the staff. The girl taking the order was the absolute only contact or conversation during the entire visit. When I come inside, the staff has a constant, loud conservation going with each other across the store. I know entirely too much about their lives after leaving. On one previous visit the guy in the back was having a loud conservation with a girl at the cash register (yes, with multiple customers waiting in line), regarding her "wet, hot p***y". Really? Profanity is flung around with no regard. It is amazing how much time is spent just standing and talking with each other at this particular store. Ambiance is ok, usually empty. Music is ok if you can hear it over the loud conservations from the other side of the counter. Cleanliness is good. Will I come back? Yes. No other choices but I would never bring small kids into this Wendy's. Even as we finished our meal, all four employees sat at different tables across the dining area and continued to carry on conversations, including profanity. There was complete disregard that was part of the country courtesies once upon a time, for the 84 year old man I was having breakfast with. Just got overcharged, and shorted 2 ,out of 4 sandwiches at the Waldo Fl Wendy's . The 2 sandwiches we did get, were old....and cold....and overcooked. We were fairly regular customers, maybe 2-4 times a month, but after this, it will be the last time we eat there. Our $24.95 meal was a small chicken sandwich, a large chicken sandwich, a small fry, and some chicken nuggets.... It was supposed to be an $8 meal bag with one chicken, and one jr bacon cheeseburger, and 2 classic chicken sandwiches for $6 + a $3 tag for pup cup frosties....I don't care how you add it up, it doesnt come out to what we were charged for imaginary food This isn't the first time this has happened. Most unprofessional restaurant I've been in, in along time. Employees eating directly from the fried food holder. If I would have see that before ordering I'd of turned around and walked out. I was in town for work and the same guy working both days said the "car in front of you bought the lady of the chili"......really????? Maybe so. So I got the usual. A Dave's single with cheese. It was cold........ I just can't imagine how this place is in business. Thank goodness Gainesville is only 10 minutes away. I threw the cold burger away and drove to the city for a hot meal. I'm ever the optimist and always give places 2 or 3 chances, thinking maybe they were just having an "off" day, but tonight was the last straw. I had gone to the Waldo location simply because it was a straight shot up 301 from my work and a nice divided 4 lane; hence, easier with traffic to get to. No more. From now on, I'll make the more traffic-clogged drive to Keystone. Why, you ask? Well here's one example of the dinner I ordered, but the dinner I got. (I always order one extra sandwich to have as my lunch the next day) I ordered a #10, which is an Asiago Chicken Bacon ranch sandwich. Same as my last visit, I got a sloppy ranch burnt to a crisp piece of bacon, chewy old piece of chicken sandwich. And the fries that are supposed to be crispy? Kind of hard to achieve that when they're cold and a free dark brown, fried to a state near concrete, what maybe USED to be a french fry thrown in for good measure. Oh wait! That's not all!! Nobody asked me what size I wanted so I ended up with a small of everything...ordered a Sprite Zero and obviously got a regular Sprite. How can I tell? The sugar syrup immediately tasted wrong and BAM! Instant migraine. That's why I don't drink sugar sodas. Next came the sandwich I ordered but never got. I ordered the #11, just the sandwich -- it was supposed to be a big bacon cheddar -- another chicken sandwich. What did I get? A single patty burger with cheese and bacon on it. The patty looks like yesterday's sausage sandwich. Ugh. I hate their burgers, that's why I always order the chicken sandwich! Extremely upset and frazzled from a very cold day out working in the rain and sloppy roads, I drove to Keystone Heights just to prove a point to myself. I ordered the exact same sandwiches and received them hot, fresh and EXACTLY what I ordered. Imagine that. And much to my surprise, not only were their sandwiches perfectly wrapped and carefully put together, but that Asiago Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich was supposed to have lettuce and tomato on it! A young man, Nicholas, came to let me know they were out of griilled chicken was I okay with their regular or spicy fried chicken. He was very polite and accommodating to me. I went back to the counter to get the pecans for my salad and a cup for water, Debbie helped me with a smile. It seems that the problem with this Wendy's has been multiple GM's at this store, lack of corporate support, and likely little or poor training. Thus the trickle down of poor performance and attitude. I suggest that the citizens of Waldo and surrounding communities get behind the people working at Wendy's. Went in around 4:00pm on a Monday afternoon and stood at the counter while three employees walked pass us without acknowledging we were waiting to order. Not another customer in sight. Waited a few minutes while the employees congregated in the dining area. We decided to use the restroom and come back out and try again. Employees continued to converse in the dining area while ignoring we at the counter waiting to order. We decided we would wait until the next exit despite being as hungry as we were. The town is called Waldo and in the spirit of "Where's Waldo"..."Where's the Wendy's?" It seems we walked into another Wendy's dimension uninvited. read more

I am very disappointed in my family's meal. We're on a 13 hour trip and we wanted an easy stop for lunch and we where there for over an hour because they couldn't get our order right. Wow. We just pulled off the road for 1 lemonade, 1 Medium fry, and 2 cups of ice.. (10+ min process once ordered) While waiting for our food.. an elderly man came in from the drive thru door asking for his food with receipt in hand stating "I've been out here OVER 20 minutes for ONE Junior bacon cheeseburger, can I get my food??" After the man left, we were still waiting but witnessed what looked like 3-5 team members/managers emerge from the office from a meeting? Not a single one of them looked up to greet us due to the muffled conversations under their breath to each other with exchanged eye rolls. Fine, you guys all just got chewed out and don't want to work... go home or find something you're passionate about! There is a bright side. The original girl that helped us was named Rebecca (spelling?) and she was terrific! Literally the only employee who greeted us (with energy & a smile), rang us up, apologized for the wait time, maintained a positive vibe the entire time basically solo. She maintained that level of service and composure our entire wait while her team sluggishly walked around her not even offering help. Wow. The food was ok. And that's the best thing I can say about this Wendy's. Travelling with 6 people, including one vegetarian & one vegan, finding a place we all agree on can be challenging. So this is why we stopped at Wendy's - we all agreed. Plus, everyone needed a bathroom break. Even though the line was short, it took more than 15 minutes for the cashier to take the 2 or 3 orders ahead of us. And no, she wasn't using an abacus or crayon. Every single food item must have been made fresh because we were there another 30 minutes waiting on our food. And we were still shorted a burger. First, the stoned cashier tried to argue with me, pointing at the same wrapped sandwich twice for two separate items on my receipt. Then when she finally accepted the fact that I wasn't leaving without my 99¢ junior burger, she grabbed it from under the heat lamp & practically threw it at me. Did you catch that? Yep, they'd made it, and she knew it was sitting there. What a horrific experience. But in Waldo, on US 301, the dining options are slim... which is the only reason this place can stay in business. Stopped here during a roadtrip. The highway this Wendy's is on seems to be an alternate route to getting to 75. Active enough, but not too congested or anything. Ironically we were driving down and I said "if we find a Wendy's or something similar, can we stop?" and then this place came into view not a minute later. Food was good, and bathrooms were clean. I end up, leaving after waiting in the drive-through for someone to come to take my order. I have even gone to the window and still no one comes. This is the worst Wendy's I have ever been to. I do not recommend eating here. Go to Starke or Gainesville. Seriously, not kidding, don't do it. First stop was the restroom. What an appalling mess. There's nothing like standing at the urinal counting the boogers that have been flicked on the wall over time. Big ones, little ones, and a rainbow of colors too. The bathroom decor is original to the restaurant, probably early 1990's The sink sure looked it. There was barely any soap and there are no paper towels. Nothing like a drip dry. There was an employee in the restroom when I walked in. They exited the stall, did their hair, and rinsed their hands for about five seconds just so they could show they were wet. Nothing like good sanitary practice. I ordered a grilled chicken combo. It was dry with some strange seasoning on a half crushed bun. Fries were hot and soggy. Probably from that employees still wet hands. What a heck of a way to drop $8.37 I felt ripped off. The dining room tables had salt granules and water rings from cups on most of them. One of the worst Wendy's. To start, there was trash everywhere in the parking lot and drive thru lane. Fries were a 50/50 mix of way over cooked cold fries and good hot fries. Burger was so cold that the cheese between meat patties never melted at all. Chicken nuggets were rock hard. The girl at the window was nice tho.
