For my meal I tried the Fried Catfish that came with hushpuppies, and 2 sides (I got their world famous hashbrown casserole and corn. The catfish was fantastic as was their hushpuppies and the sides. Really good meal in a really homelike environment with really great service. An awesome travel stop for sure.

When she brought back my sweet tea, I ordered the grilled chicken tenders with hashbrown casserole, biscuits, and fried apples . Food was served rather quickly and it was tasty and filling. Jordan was very attentive and refilled my drink and even brought me a to go cup for the road. I don't recall seeing alcohol served at a Cracker Barrel before, but noticed the menu. We were in from out of state, and decided to meet up with family for Denny's for our Christmas…read moredinner. First off, I called Denny's in Cambridge, from my home state of Virginia to see if they would be open for the holidays. I received an automated message that basically said, "Thank you for calling your Cambridge Denny's! Spend the holidays with us! We're open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Year's". With that message, our family of 14 planned to dine at Denny's on Christmas Day. Just days before leaving town, I called to inquire about 'call ahead seating' or reservations. I listened to the automated message again, and got an employee on the phone who informed me that they didn't do reservations, and they closed on Christmas Eve at 6pm, and opened on Christmas Day at 4pm. That isn't a problem, but they really need to change their automated message. Had I not called to inquire about reservations, and spoke to an employee, we could have very well showed up much earlier, only to find the doors locked. In fact, when we arrived at 3:30pm, we sat in the car knowing we'd have a 30 minute wait, but we did see very confused crowds lining up at the door, trying the door, and knocking on the doors quite perplexed. Honestly, I hadn't expected Denny's in Cambridge to be so busy on Christmas Day, but the parking lot was full. Like I said, there were 14 of us, and although we weren't the first in line, we did manage to all sit together. Service was great, and I give high kudos to both the wait staff and the cooks (my husband and I split a breakfast platter that was made perfectly!). My stepdaughter ordered mozzarella cheese sticks and something else, but really enjoyed them! My sister in law and brother in law had nachos that looked very unappetizing, but I think overall, most were very happy with their food and service. Great job Denny's! But please update your automated message to reflect accurate hours.

The portions were fair. The owner was very friendly and kind. Clearly cared about his establishment and the food he served. The restaurant was very clean as well. My biggest complaint was being charged $3 for a bottle of water, especially since glasses of water were not an option.
