After being asked if I wanted extra cheese on each meal, I asked if there was an up-charge. She said yes, 50¢. I expressed that this is not a fair tactic to get up-charges. I've worked several fast food jobs in the past and know that corporate does not mandate tricky up-charge policies like that. She interrupted me and said "it's policy". I replied that I understood it wasn't her fault and that I would just be calling corporate to express my dissatisfaction with this policy. She snapped at me "well it's a corporate policy sooooo". I was taken aback by her tone. I took a breath and said "I understand." Before I could finish, she said "and you can leave, I'm not serving you." I could hear staff in the background giggling. I have never in my life been denied service. I understand they are within their right, but there was simply no reason for it. I was being calm and polite. She snapped at me immediately for questioning the policy. I called the store to speak to a manager and the same girl answered the phone saying she was the assistant GM. I will lot be returning. No leftovers, of course. And I didn't really care, because it just wasn't that great. Olive Garden's specialty is good-enough sorta-Italian. And with so many other options it is never my choice.
