This Store is newly Opened and like any store, it will have it's bumps along the way. So far No Bumps for me. :) It has super friendly employees, great selection of foods. And Toys :) I am not sure if they do Trimming , etc for Pets. Will ask again another day.

This place has everything to every pets needs. Your pet deserve the best food to feed and to help live a nurture life. I came to this place by walking to the store and decided to try their selection out and boy the store owner knows everything and help you select stuff for your cat to be in top shape. I have a senior cat orange tabby who is 11 now and will turn 12 in 9 months. My cat is my best friend and will treat him like a king . Come down to Wespaw for their selection and sign up for their point system to get reduced price on pet food.

Wespaw Pets is my go-to local pet food store! Their prices are competitive with online sources and the store is clean, well organized and fresh smelling. I typically order my pet food and supplies online because it's just easier as delivered goods, but it's also nice to browse the aisles and pick up last minute items from this local gem. My cat sometimes gets bored with his wet food flavor, so it's easier to pick-up a smaller variety of flavors of my choice, rather than choosing the variety pack online. They do offer local delivery service too, so it's a fantastic alternative for that heavy cat litter!

FINALLY!!! A great pet store in Sunnyside! No more driving to Greenpoint, Williamsburg or the city to buy better food & products. And the prices are completely reasonable. Sam, the owner, is fantastic. We had a nice conversation yesterday and Sam's staff is stellar (even threw me a few free samples of dry food last time). Sam refuses to carry animals as he is a huge proponent of adoption. YES! Sam has my business moving forward. But we all need to shop here to keep him around! The other (nasty!) neighborhood stores do NOT deserve our business! Love animals?? Well, then let's put our money where our hearts are. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE WESPAWS!! The staff is wonderful: Sam, Del, Aidan, etc. I can't tell you how friendly and helpful they are! I have three kitties (yes, I am that crazy cat lady, and proud of it lol), and I never run out of litter or food because of WESPAWs great hours, prices, and delivery. I no longer have to get a friend to help me take home the 34lb pound litter or 24-pack Wellness food cases. Seriously, guys, PLEASE DON'T EVER LEAVE! Love Wespaws! And as a die-hard animal lover, it's great that they don't sell animals but advocate for our healthy fur babies! read more

Great selection of food and toys for my dog. They delivered food and litter for a previous roommate's cat and are always patient and helpful. I called up with questions and they provided me with some samples to help the problem. While I usually have to look to the internet for more specialty items (dog hiking boots) they seem to have a pretty good variety for a small store and way better than anywhere else in Sunnyside. Bonus points for being pretty much spotless. read more

Despite the annoying negative reviews below, these guys are awesome! They are super helpful, friendly and chilled (given the fact that they are probably the only two that work there ALL WEEK). Mohammad, whom I believe is the Assistant mgr or Supervisor has helped me out a great deal with my purchases and the other employee, Jamie (I believe is his name) is also always readily available to answer any questions, I have. Not to mention they are always FULLY STOCKED with items. Prices are just okay but then again they ARE the only pet store in the area. I also love the fact that they offer treats to my pup. Overall Im pretty satisfied with this location. read more

just to give you a heads up -- double check your sales receipt and what they are actually charging you at check out !!!! the last few times (very few) times I have had to purchase from this store, they over charged me at the cash register. then I have to point out that the price is incorrect and the staff has NO idea what the prices are. This has happened 2 or 3 times now. So we have to walk all the way back to the shelf and I have to point out the correct price and then we have to go through making adjustments and refunds. What a waste of time and what ignorant staff. And just by the way, I do believe it is illegal to show one price on the shelf and not have your cash register ring up the same price. read more

I have been a Sunnyside resident for 8 years now. I used to have to walk all the way to Petland discounts on Northern Blvd in Astoria and walk all the way back carrying a heavy bag each time I needed food for my 7.5 year old chiweenie dog. I was excited when I heard Wes Paws was going to open in our neighborhood several years ago and I have been coming ever since they opened their doors. They are reasonably priced esp for a "boutique pet store". The employees have always been very friendly and pleasant and the store is always very clean. I love shopping here and supporting our local business and highly recommend Wes Paws. read more

I love this store! Im so happy it came to sunnyside! No more trips to petco and carrying it all on the train until my arms break. I buy in bulk, so its also so great that they deliver! I can purchase everything I need and I no longer have to worry about dragging it home. The store is so pleasant to shop in (and clean!!), the staff is very very helpful and friendly. Really fantastic to have a nice pet store in the area. There are a few others nearby but they are either small or smelly or both. Employees were super helpful with my husband and I who are new doggie parents. We had a problem with a leash we bought and they took it back, no problem. We are still figuring everything out. Not only does Wespaw Pets carry a large product line for both cats/dogs (at very affordable prices), and have EXCELLENT customer service, they are also VERY involved within our community. Wespaw Pets has made a major committment to help the SUDS (Sunnyside United Dog Society) Dog Run. Donating their time (volunteering at our events), products (giveaways @ SUDS related events) and $ (they have given us 2 pools, water hoses and 5000+ Poop bags for our Mutt Mitt Dispenser). Benji only loves Health Extensions and its hard to find that brand. Not many pet stores sell that brand. Wespaw was the only place that I could find in Queens that sell Health Extensions. The gentlemen was really nice and very helpful. Not sure what his name was I just know he lives in Paramus NJ. He knew his stuff and was very patient with me. They have a variety of stuff which is always good for a pet parent like myself who loves shopping for my little one.. I will definitely be coming back here. read more

An all around great pet supply store for the neighborhood. They stock high quality food, treats, and other supplies in abundance. The staff is very friendly, their prices are pretty reasonable, and you even get a small discount if you buy in bulk. I'll keep coming back. read more

Any pet store that has turducken for cats is fabulous in my book. Great store, great selection and the cat toy of death is now being clawed, trampled, dragged and mauled by Gattini who is over the moon with my purchases today at this great store. They even gave me change of a dollar for the meter. Highly recommended! read more

I have been shopping at Wespaw pet store since it first opened and I must say I am still highly impressed. The staff here are top notch. If I ever need an item that is out of stock they will order it for me and let me know when it is back in stock. Anytime I come in they are always super friendly and give treats to my dog. I prefer this pet store over the bigger chain pet stores, the workers are more personable, they deliver, the prices are the same or cheaper and they have a wide variety of different items. Added bonus is not having to lug a big bag of dog food on the train. The owner is super nice and responds to feedback. I have been going to this pet store for a few years now. They always have a great selection of premium cat food. The guys that work here are very nice and helpful. Best of all, they deliver! I just took advantage of this for the first time this week. It was after work and I wanted to buy a case of cat food. However, I had no energy to lug it almost ten block to my apartment. Gabe advised me that they could deliver it at around 8:30pm. Lo and behold, at 8:30pm Gabe showed up with my order. Can't get better than that. read more

Did a quick compare on some of their freeze dried snacks to amazon and with discount, they had competitive pricing. Very accomodating staff, I was looking for socks for my furry child and they gave their advice and let me try on one. It was my baby's bday too, and they treated her to some freeze dried treats. I had a sick cat who wouldn't eat almost anything--and I tried EVERYTHING (10 different cans!) from cat food to human stinky tuna (she had congestions complications)--and Rich's guidance helped me find a nutritional gel and cat food that she actually ate! The first time in days I haven't had to syringe feed her! Super helpful staff and I couldn't be happier with the product or price, too. Thank you so much!! read more

Awesome neighborhood pet store that delivers to your home, is open 7 days, and have fantastic people who give treats and toys to Bingo everytime he visits! This place stocks the best selection of healthy dog food in the area and it's open later than a lot of other places, so I can stop by after work. The guys behind the counter are super sweet to my dog and very helpful when I'm looking for something special. They once let my dog try on every dog bootie in the store to find a pair that fit. They always offer free samples. There's also a really good selection of toys. read more

Not many places sell Halo cat food but sure enough this place did and I am so happy! The guys behind the counter were so accommodating and very helpful in finding the right de-matter comb for my very long haired cat. Awesome service! Went in to buy a big bag of merrick dog food for my pups and they took it to my car without me even having to ask for help! You can tell they genuinely wanted to help me out. Have been a great source of info on getting high quality food for my dog who has a hard time putting on appropriate weight. But let's be real--vet visits are expensive these days, and I needed to get my guy Boomer his shots and a little wellness check without it turning into a whole financial event. So I started looking for an affordable clinic, and a lot of places claim they're affordable... and then you get there and the prices are not giving "affordable" at all. I made an appointment with Vetco Clinic, and I went to the one on 86th and Lexington because it's closest to me. Booking online was super easy, and I was able to get a same-day appointment, which I loved. When I got there, I was honestly surprised--in the best way--because it really wasn't expensive. They even give you a 20% coupon when you sign up to go, so you can use that discount right away, which is a nice bonus. Boomer got three shots and my total was $80. And the guy in front of me was last minute trying to get his baby ready for boarding, and she needed like five or six shots, and his total was $149... and that's before even thinking about the 20% discount. For New York? That is genuinely great. But beyond the price, the vets and staff were really sweet. Boomer is a rescue, so he's a little squeamish and very big on energy and who's handling him, and he didn't give them any issues at all. They did the shots so quick and smooth, he wasn't in pain, he wasn't drowsy afterwards, and you can tell they actually care about the pets they're seeing. And that matters to me because he's my baby--my first son--so I'm always paying attention to how people treat him. It was quick, simple, easy, and most importantly affordable. They were also open to questions, so if you need to ask about medications, flea and tick prevention, food, anything--they'll talk to you and help without making you feel rushed. I highly recommend Vetco Clinic if you're trying to keep up with your pet's care without it costing you an arm and a leg. We need affordable options, and this one really came through.

I was told that they would be ready in 2.5 hours. #frenchiesofues #animalcruelty When I arrived to pick them up, the larger of the two had bloodshot red eyes. I asked what was wrong with him and told that he was just anxious. I asked both the groomer and the other staff and was told not to worry about it. I was then told that the groomer said that he was misbehaving. The hair had not been cut from his back or his buttocks and then the groomer quickly did it in 5 minutes, $250 plus $60 tip later and a vet bill. We later realized that they actually had not been bathed. His eyes remained red at midnight and this morning. I took him to the veterinarian and found out that he must have been choked or his face smashed against the cage, as he was suffering from a scleral hemorrhage. I hope that this letter can help others avoid putting their pets into this dangerous place. I called them today (after delivery is already 3 days late) and I tell them that my dog has no more food and what's going on with the delivery. They respond back "sir, your food is on the truck and is out for delivery today" I asked several times to please make sure it comes and they guaranteed me that it would. Of course it never came. If you can't deliver until a certain day / time, that's ok - but don't lie about it and leave a poor dog without her prescription food. This place can never manage to deliver on time and they lie - yet they have no issue charging my credit card as soon as my order is placed. Clearly they don't give a crap about the animals otherwise they would be a little more accurate when promising on food delivery's. Shame on me for buying into their lies. On top of this, they constantly run out of inventory on dog food. Stay away.

They are completely unreliable. The Experience The Appointment: I booked a full day of service starting at 8:00 AM. The Ghosting: Nobody was in the front of the shop when I arrived. No Answers: I called at 8:00 AM and got the answering machine. I waited 10 minutes and called again, but still, nobody picked up the phone. Ignored at the Door: I actually saw a staff member cleaning up inside. I knocked on the door twice, but he completely ignored me. The Aftermath I eventually had to leave so I wouldn't be late for work. At 8:15 AM, I received a call with a weak apology. They claimed the person supposed to open the shop was there but "didn't hear or see me." This is a flat-out excuse since I was standing right there knocking on the glass. Save yourself the stress and find a reliable daycare that actually respects your time and takes care of your pets. This is THE BEST pet store…read more The owner of the store has several of his own dogs and tests out all of the toys he sells; there isn't a huge selection but based on the type of dog you own he can tell you which bone or toy will entertain your dog for the longest amount of time. While I was in the store another customer came in to find cat food for her cat that apparently wasn't eating it's food, he gave her a free sample so that she could keep trying until she found something her cat would eat. He knows dog breeds and which food is best for which dog. When my dog was sick he not only sells the sweet potatoes that make dogs feel better instantly, he also went next door and bought yogurt because he said that would also help her stomach. If you want a pet store where the employees actually know about pets and can recommend items based on experience, not just point you in the direction of where they are...this is the place to go. Lets just say Petco lost a customer.

The store is really nice and they have a lot of organic dog and cat foods and lots of good toys. The problem I have with the place is the owner- or manager- I have tried really hard to forget his name because he creeped me out. He took too personal of an interest in me which at first I thought friendly but then realized it was a little overboard and he made very inappropriate comments to me and about me. Needless to say, I take my business elsewhere. Even though the store I frequent is not as close, I don't have to worry about someone making me feel uncomfortable. This manager thinks he knows everything about dogs - and yes, he does know a lot; however the food he recommends, while REALLY good is also REALLY expensive. That said, my dog doesn't eat cheaply - she eats Wellness brand - but he was adamant that she needed to be on the priciest feed there was. I guess he needs to be reminded that not everyone wants to be his best friend and sometimes his opinions/thoughts are better left to himself, especially when it's not about pets.

I would really like to commend wespawpets. First off, they were the pharmacy that the animal medical center (amc) said they liked to use. This should give them credibility alone. Second, when the medicine my bird needed that day was ordered they asked if it could be delivered the next day due to the time and it being a busy day for them. I said the bird actually needed it as soon as possible, wespawpets said ok and after taking care of all they had on their plate that day later in the evening they deliverd it- I WAS MUCH APPRECIATED TO THEM. When I needed a refill they again delivered all the way from queens to the bronx, and this time it turned out the delivery man wasnt feeling good at all and still had to cross the GW to get to Jersey! I would completely understand it if he had not been able to carry out the delivery- I would not expect him to do so, BUT to his credit He did!!!!!!! Wespaw Pets is the best!! It is the only place I go to get dog food and other goodies for my four-legged best friend. Not only are the prices reasonable and fair, staff members are incredibly knowledgeable and super-friendly. In fact, I recall one evening when my dog's arthritis was "acting up." As I observed him walk slower than usual, I decided to go to Wespaw pets to see if I could purchase something to ease his discomfort. As I walked into the shop, I made a joke and said, "Is there a doctor in the house?" To my surprise, there actually was a "doctor in the house." The owner of Wespaw Pets is also a veterinarian. He was so great to me and my dog. He really took the time to ask me about my dog's medical history as well as observe my dog limp with arthritis. He recommended a fantastic product that was not only effective, but also very affordable. I love Wespaw Pets, so glad it is in the neighborhood. I wouldn't go anywhere else...... Currently in search of a new pet store willing to travel any where for great quality; Walked into this store today by accident. Great looking store nice atmosphere; type of store you wouldnt mind spending you day in. Smelled great ! unlike most pet stores that reek; overall excellent apperence. I just recently moved into this neighborhood with my two dogs and I have found it really tough to look for a place that could meet all my expected standards and needs for my two dogs. Until I stepped foot into this store, the staff were super friendly and professional and helped me all the way through. Even though I was a little annoying shooting 100 questions per second they showed extreme professionalism and patience and helped me all the way through. They even gave me some recommendations and better alternatives on the old previous foods I use to give my dog, free samples and their own personal background knowledge on dealing with pets. I love this store. I love the owner and staff. They are always willing to help and actually know what they are talking about. I've asked a few times for products they didn't carry and Sam was willing to get them. The store is always clean and it's easy to find what I'm looking for. The hours are fantastic for those people who get out of work at a later hour. A huge advantage they have is that they will deliver those giant bags of cat litter or cat food. Thank you for that! Thank you, Wespawpets for the lovely cat tree, which is very practical and sturdy. My 3 cats climbed all over it immediately and looked so content to have somewhere to climb and snuggle again. And thanks mucho for the free night delivery all the way from Queens to Brooklyn, so we could have it immediately. It was an impulse buy, as I work in Sunnyside and visit your store on occasion for cat food, a cat box, and other stuff. Your staff is friendly and helpful, with no pressure. Not only do they carry a great selection of quality food for our furry ones (at affordable prices, too), but the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. This absolutely is the best pet store i ever been in.The staff are very helpful they give my precious yummy treats, and there is such a wide selection of food that are organic and hollistic and customer service is really great. Can't ask for much more in a small pet store in NYC. A great selection of high-end dog food, competitive prices, nice gear and accessories, and a staff that's generally knowledgeable and helpful.
