Half turkey club with house made chips - excellent!

Food was amazing - the menu has a wide variety of options. Service was great, late lunch time was quiet and not crowded. Not pictured were the lobster bisque and Italian wedding soup which were home made and sooo delicious!!

Waffles from the chicken and waffles

Delanie's was sold and has been rebranded as West Ave Tavern. Much of the old menu has been kept and the décoré is the same. If you liked Delanie's you will like this place. Service is very good with a very friendly staff. It is a casual environment good for families or if you want to watch a game at the bar. I had the chicken and waffles - they were okay. More like chicken tenders and waffles. My wife had a wedge salad that was very good. I will go back

$19 chicken and waffles. Funny thing, only one side burnt and they didn't even think to put that side down in the plate!

I guess i have to begin at the beginning to let you grasp the true sadness of this visit. Party of three at about 7:10 on a Tuesday. We were sat immediately. We hadn't been there in a decade so it was essentially our "first" time. We had enough time before we were greeted to look at the entire menu, many times, decide on apps and even pick, and change our minds about entrees before we ever met our waitress. She asked our drinks and quickly turned and returned to kitchen before i could order the apps. Upon returning with the beverages, she again quickly turned away, i spoke up and asked if we could order our apps. After about twenty minutes i asked her as she was walking by if we could order our food. She commented how she was waiting until after she brought our apps. We ordered. Eventually apps came. There where more examples of the poor service (a host visited our table and saw that EVERYBODY had an empty glass and said and did nothing, then actually when the waitress dropped off the apps she again turned away quickly and i had to ask for refills. When they returned my beverage was now in my husbands cup and his in mine. Our cups were different colors, but enough is enough. Food was over sold on the menu and over priced. Burnt "house made" waffle (what waffle iron burns one side?) dry frozen chicken , with syrup that tasted like they just mixed it with cheap bourbon. I can put up with crap service and no refills and never coming to ask me if i need anything after deliver the meal, if the food is on point! Lobster bisque??? My bad for not asking if it was real lobster. $8 for a bowl that is really a cup, i mean it's actually a cup, and fake seafood. $19 for the chicken and waffles! Bad food, bad service. So sad.

They have a taco Tuesday thing but it's not a discount it's 3 tacos and you can mix and match from what they make. Which is not really a special in my opinion. The place has a nice patio and inside can fit an about 10 tables of various sizes. And the bar has seating. Cute place. I see it can get crowded on a Friday night or Saturday night. We got the green bean app for the table. They are cooked perfectly with teriyaki glaze and some tempura but not a lot. They have a sauce that has a bit of a kick but not bad. These are good and good to share. Good portion. I ordered the steak and gruyere sandwich and chips. Sandwich was good. Not big but very flavorful and good. Would have liked a bigger banquette for the sandwich. Ok amount of meat. It was good. The chip side was very crunch and good amount. But to me the chips were a bit greasy tasting. Needed more salt and a bit of flavor. It was a ok meal. The friend that suggested the restaurant got the Ohio burger. It was huge. She cut it into 4's and only ate half. It was big! She also got the chips. Again chips were ok just a bit oily tasting and need salt. The dining area is loud. Lots of people in close proximity talking. It's hard to hear and sound is bouncing. That was a bit of a bummer to try and talk over all the noise. Server was good very attentive and helped with suggestions. Bill for 3 sandwiches, including a burger, a water, coke and cider with green beans appetizer was $81. Not including tip.

I've never been here before but I know it's a fairly popular place so I was quick to agree to the location. We originally sat at the bar but the stools were so incredibly uncomfortable, so we moved to a booth. While our server was nice, it did take her quite a while to come take our drink order. I got a "lavendar breeze" for my first drink and it was delicious. The menu is small, with the focus being on grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm not a huge grilled cheese lover, so I ordered a wedge salad (with house white French dressing) and the sauerkraut balls from the appetizer menu. The salad was on par with what you'd expect, the dressing was tasty. The sauerkraut balls, though, kind of threw me. First, it's a HUGE serving. There was around 30-40 sauerkraut balls in the basket; way more than I ever imagined would be in an order. I was expecting four or five golf ball sized balls. Maybe I've been spoiled by having some fantastic sauerkraut balls, but these were subpar, at best. They didn't have a lot of flavor and the cocktail sauce they served with them was an odd choice. While I still enjoyed time catching up with a friend and the drinks were well done, I doubt I'll come back for food. The menu just wasn't appealing to me and what I did have wasnt good enough to lure me back anytime soon.

I can honestly say The Blue Door has earned a place among the very best meals I've ever had. What amazed me most wasn't just that every dish was delicious--it was that every single plate had its own identity. Nothing tasted repetitive or safe. Each course was thoughtfully composed with bold flavors, beautiful presentation, and combinations I never would have imagined working together... yet they absolutely did. Beyond the food, every plate looked like a work of art. You could tell the kitchen artists take immense pride in presentation without sacrificing flavor. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. We never felt rushed, and every recommendation was spot on. If someone asked me where to experience one of the best dining experiences in Ohio, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. I'd tell them to drive to The Blue Door in Cuyahoga Falls.
