    Spaghetti and meatballs - 5/5/2025
    Cam E.

A theater district fun hangout bistro hailing from 1978, West Bank Cafe is a wonderful place to dine serving consistently good food served by an efficient delightful staff. We dined on their highly recommended: - Arancini Risotto Mushroom Balls - Shrimp cocktails - Cobb Salad - Seared Atlantic Salmon on farro - Spaghetti and Meatballs - Vegan Spring Vegetable Risotto - delicious Cocktails **the Cadillac Margarita is very good & strong ** We're told, Joan Rivers used to perform at the Laurie Beechman theater downstairs!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a good nostalgic choice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you for a splendid evening!

This is just a good place to eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also a fun place to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They catered to the theater crowd and time your dinner accordingly. Many of the waiters and waitresses are Broadway actors or theatre workers. They are all very welcoming and hospitable. The food is high-quality and served very well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room is very nice with lemon tablecloths and perfect lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place for a drink or meal pre or post theatre.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been ages ago to see Joan rivers and have returned twice in the last year for brunch. Food was good as were the mimosas. Check it out if you're looking for a bite in Hells Kitchen!

Went to the reopening of West Bank since being bought by new owners and Broadway producers Tom and Michael D'Angora - and somehow it's even better than it was before!! Obsessed with their spaghetti with meatballs, Tom's grandfather's recipe, craving it now. Also loved the homemade hot fudge sundae and the signature rice balls. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cannot wait to come back - such a welcoming, jovial vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 5 stars!!!!

Happy to say that nothing feels like it's changed since the new ownership. It was one of my favorites, and still is. There's something special in the water there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always a cool crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Always good service. Always really good food. And I really appreciate the well marked menu for gluten free and more. No better pre-show or after-show place.

Went here for dinner after a show at Greenroom 42. Service was impeccable. The food was fine: I thought the eggplant parm was bland but the arancini were super flavorful. They had lots of great options on the menu, so I would definitely go back and try something else!

"happy hour" everyday. the biggest savings on this were the $6 beers. the menu downstairs at the comedy club is much smaller than the one up stairs, but the item prices are the same. come here to pregame and save money on drinks before the show because a $6 beer went to $15 real quick. that being said, the mushroom risotto balls are a must get. i wish they werent so dry, but i loved the flavor and when you dip them in the truffle mayo, its a perfect marriage. they come in a batch of 12 small balls, and they are filling. the staff is great and service is quick!

We were thrilled to find two seats at the end of the bar when we arrived. As luck would have it, the two gentlemen next to us eventually left, allowing us to slide over and enjoy an even better view of the TV for the rest of the game. I started with a Tito's and club soda, but unfortunately, something seemed off--perhaps the club soda was flat. The drink just wasn't good. To their credit, the bartender took it back without hesitation and was very accommodating. I then ordered a Negroni after the woman sitting next to us highly recommended it. I don't usually drink gin, but this cocktail was absolutely delicious and changed my mind. Since we were there for several hours, we shared an order of zucchini and eggplant chips and happily snacked on them throughout the game. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice mix of ages and people enjoying the evening. We made sure to leave our bartender a generous tip since we occupied our seats for the entire game. Even though the Knicks didn't pull out a win that night, we certainly didn't leave defeated. I'd happily return for another game, cocktail, and fun evening out. And maybe even get dinner there. Little did I know there was another big room in the ack once you past the restrooms. They were having a thriving business there!

He was constantly busy zippin around but maintained a nice demeanor and made everyone feel welcome! Must orders of mine: the burger! Although small, it comes out piping hot and the fresh white onion between the bottom bun and burger is awesome because it doesn't make the bottom bun soggy and catches all the juices from the actual meat. Love subbing the fries for a Caesar salad! Standout appetizer is the fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki-- crispy, hot, juicy and I get it every time!

We were running a little late getting there because of traffic, but they were really nice about it which I appreciated. We ordered a bunch of things for the table so we could try a little bit of everything. The monkey bread was probably my favorite and definitely worth ordering. We also got the steak which was cooked perfectly, along with pasta and a burger. There was a small mix-up with our order and they accidentally brought out an extra pasta, but our server fixed it right away and took care of it without us even having to ask. Service throughout dinner was honestly great. We also tried a couple drinks and ended up staying for a while because we liked the atmosphere so much. It's definitely more of a special dinner spot than somewhere I'd casually stop into, but between the food, service and overall vibe I'd happily come back. Such a good dinner in NYC!

First of all we were a bit late due to traffic and weather but the staff was really understanding! Next, our waiter accidentally put in 2 pastas instead of a burger we ordered but had that fixed immediately and took it off our tab which was a super nice surprise. We got a couple things to share and everything was delicious! The monkey bread was totally worth the hype! Steak was cooked perfectly and the pasta was delicious. Also got a couple drinks! Would totally come back here again.

We got there pretty early and I wish that we had gone on a day they had breakfast. The breakfast photos caught my eye. After we paid and gave our 20% auto gratuity, our waiter Jose asked if we wanted to leave additional gratuity. Our tip was already $25 and I was actually surprised he asked for more. He took the time to listen to our concerns and invited our group back so we could give their group another chance. Our return visit was a completely different experience. I appreciate the way the owner handled the situation and his willingness to have an open conversation with us. It doesn't change what happened that first night, but it did change my impression of how much he cares about his guests and his business. I wanted my review to reflect that as well.
