Visited this spot after a Broadway show. The food came out cold. The sliders were just ok and the chicken sliders were over fried . The customer service was just ok. Maybe the experience would be different visiting closer to the restaurant opening .

THE ROCK burger : 9oz triple decker, brisket, vermont white cheddar, onion rings, bacon, caramelized onion, ltp, rock sauce
    Renata G.

5th Ave food selection is slim so I ended up going into Bill's Bar to satisfy a burger craving. It actually surprised me. I ordered The Rock which is a 9oz triple decker patty burger with brisket, vermont white cheddar, onion rings, bacon, caramelized onion, ltp and rock sauce. It was a tower of meat and was very good! Some layers of meat were colder than others so can be improved. One thing to note is this place is geared towards tourists. So every little thing is charged as an extra. The burger doesn't come with fries - that's an extra. Side of sauce - extra. I saw a table in front me ask for mayo and that was an EXTRA charge. Pretty ridiculous. Good ol' American menu of course had overly sweet drinks and no modern options. I passed on soda and syrupy cocktails. But solid stop if you come for a quick burger and a possible food coma after. By no means I would ever have dinner here.

We stopped at Bill's Bar & Burger for a casual bite and were definitely impressed by the flavor--but a bit less thrilled by the volume and prices. We ordered the Cookies & Dreams milkshake (decadent and dreamy!), The Melt sandwich, plus onion rings and fries. The food was delicious and satisfying, classic comfort with a gourmet twist. That said, the prices felt a little extravagant for what's essentially burgers and shakes--but hey, it's New York. Our server, Salin, was absolutely fantastic--friendly, attentive, and patient, even when the restaurant got busy. The vibe inside was laid-back and fun, but the music was so loud, we could barely hear each other while sitting side by side. It made conversation tough, which took away from the chill dining experience a bit. Great spot if you're craving a juicy burger and a monster milkshake--just bring your appetite and maybe some earplugs.

I went here with my family for dinner. We got the Tortillas with Artichoke Spinach Dip for our appetizers and the Slider Burger Tower with Onion Rings. The food was delicious and the price was great. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was cozy and laid back

We had reservations at 5:30 on a Friday, but we definitely didn't need one! I was shocked to see plenty of available tables, this is a great spot for before a Broadway show! Very family friendly and good for picky eaters. We split a regular fry between the two of us and it was a good size for us. I had the Cesar salad and was able to add crispy chicken. Delicious! And for the adults, the Blue Hawaiian is a tradition for us. So good!

Stopped here when we were walking around Rockefeller Center to grab a bite. I had the Bill burger with no cheese and onion rings. Burger was delicious and so were the onion rings. Everything was great. My friend had the south of the border burger which she said was fabulous. Definitely would recommend this place.

Made a reservation here for yesterday for an early dinner. They were able to take us early which was great. Crowded inside, especially I'm sure due to the time of year and proximity to Rockefeller Center. Our server was nice and friendly. Quick service. Good menu with a lot to choose from. We all enjoyed our apps: the giant pretzel and wings. Everyone enjoyed their burgers they got. Sliders came in 3, or 5 and the 5 came with some onion rings and fries. Good choice to split that meal as those sliders were a decent size. Overall a solid meal.

Made this reservation through an app for the holiday's. I was so pleased, the food was delicious, the drinks were perfect, and the customer service was a plus. There were tv's around so we could watch the games along with big picture windows. They are in a great location within Rockefeller center.

My family and I stopped here today while visiting the city and checking out the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. The hostess said it would be a 30-minute wait, so we grabbed drinks at the bar, but we had my daughter so did not sit at the bar. There wasn't anywhere to hang out and wait for our table which wasn't great, but it was ready in just over 15 minutes so that wasn't too bad. The menu doesn't have a ton of options, and my daughter only wanted pizza, so I had to run across the street and grab her a slice. I ended up ordering a Chopped Salad and it was actually really good! Wine by the glass was was definitely on the expensive side. Overall not a bad place to stop when in the area, although I would try and make a reservation next time.

Had an early dinner at Bill's Bar & Burger while visiting NYC. The burgers were solid... but the sides; cheese fries & roasted Brussels sprouts were mid! Unfortunately nothing really stood out as amazing. The atmosphere was fun and lively, especially if you're near Rockefeller Center. Service was friendly but a little rushed. Overall, a decent spot for a casual meal if you're in the area, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way for.

Went for lunch after a show at Radio City. We had a reservation but I was concerned when we walked in because it was so crowded. We were sat quickly. My son ordered one of the monster shakes, he loved it! Food came out super fast, I was very impressed. Even with the crowds the noise level was good, it was easy to have a conversation. We'll definitely be back.

Came here for lunch. It was packed but we were able to sit at the bar and it didn't take long for us to be served. Server was nice and attentive. We ordered his recommendation which was delicious, the Ranch burger. . We also ordered Fat Cat burger, which never disappoints. The burger are good and a great size. You won't leave hungry. They also have good options for beer. Price is average for the area since it is by 5th Avenue and 50th. I would come here for a quick lunch.

I had the Big Cat burger - incredible. Menu description: BIG CAT caramelized onions, american cheese, pulled pork, bbq bacon, fried egg, special sauce, english muffin, lettuce, tomato, and pickle. I substituted cheddar cheese for the American and had it on a hamburger bun instead of the English muffin. Our server was Nelkin was great!

We reserved for a quick bite at Redeye Grill before catching Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, but as soon as we walked up, some bouncer told us they were closed for a private wedding reception. We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I have no clue when we'll be back in Midtown, but one thing's for sure- we're sitting with Josiah again.

Two-part, proper settle, tight dome, no rushing it. That's rarer than it should be in Midtown where half the bars treat a stout like a lager. Whoever's behind the bar here has been trained or grew up around it. Food's better than a second-floor pub between 5th and 6th has any right to be. The JRB burger comes on a house-ground patty (they grind in-house, and you can tell, loose texture, actual seasoning), caramelized onions cooked down all the way, not just softened, good cheese pull. Fried pickles on the side had a crisp cornmeal shell and stayed crunchy under the burger juices, which never happens. Buttermilk chicken salad was the surprise. Chicken actually brined, crust stayed on, greens weren't an afterthought. Only real knock: music was loud. Not sports-bar loud, more like the bartender's playlist got away from him. Fine at the bar, harder at a table if you want to talk. Room's got real bones. Reclaimed barn wood, old rail track as a foot rest, that big 45-star flag on the wall. Been here almost 20 years and it's aged into itself. For the neighborhood the pricing's fair. Beats P.J. Clarke's on the burger, loses on quiet. Go for a beer and a burger, not a date.

Those people spam the crap out of their buttons for the dinner spots and when I went I can see why. The place is brimming with old school New York charm and it's completely overwhelmingly beautiful and has an old jazzy vibe to it. It's large and spacious and they sat us in the middle of the entire restaurant. (I had a group of 6) The vibe was so good you don't really want to leave and they also don't really kick you out. I think we were the last ones to exit for brunch but they were so nice they didn't kick us out. Their espresso martinis are ok. It wasn't as amazing as a regular cocktail bar but it is just ok. We started off with a shrimp cocktail, smoked whitefish Caesar salad and the two plates of truffle monkey bread which was soooo good. I really enjoyed this as it's the main reason we came here. It's almost like a honey dinner roll with truffle. We got everything next which some people got their own and some shared. Some people got their own American breakfast platter which was some overdone eggs and a meat with gigantic toast and if you only order scrambled eggs it comes in a bowl but I would much rather order their classics like steak sandwich and the spicy shrimp was pretty good! Fries are top tier! I can see why people just come here for dinner. I would give it mostly 5 stars for the overall ambiance and environment and a few classics. I think their old fashioned is better than their espresso martinis though even though it looks so good in this type of setting! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was lead to this great spot for a late dinner and cocktails on a Friday night. The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order. We ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice ( Yum), Guinness Wager Sliders (Nom Nom), Korean Chicken Boas (My Favorite!) and Carnitas Tacos.....I'm embarrassed to admit that we cleaned our plates like a couple of savages. Bartley Dunnes is a great choice to come solo, meet up with friends or come as a group of no more than 4, unless you make a reservation. They have a second floor that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out, so I can't write about that. However, I did see people coming and going straight up. I'll be back!

They have a great happy hour running from open until 8 PM, including $6 beers and $8 cocktails, which is a great deal for the area. ordered the Bartleys Spritz (Aperol Spritz) and a Tequila Mule. We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
