    The cute tea tasting cup
    Patricia B.

What a fun experience! I came with a friend and we did probably 5 different reasons tastings (if not more) and enjoyed the authentic Chinese tea service. The staff is super knowledgeable and you can purchase any of the teas you try. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. We also ended up chatting with others at the table. I love the communal experience. There is a cute room in the back for a more private group tea service as well.

This Chinese tea house is phenomenal! Sampled a few teas. My favorite was a smoked tea which is more so a dinner tea. Very delicious! The tea instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly. The teas are very strong and have high caffeine. So, if you're sensitive to caffeine drink plenty of water and taste the tea vs drinking freely. It was a little difficult to find the location, should change the color of the gate to attract the eye, or put a sign on the gate. The ambience in the tea house reminds me of the tea rooms in the movies. Highly recommended for group experiences or dates.

I've always wanted to go to West China Tea House and finally got around to doing it! The environment is super peaceful and staff is extremely knowledgeable about tea, the health benefits and they have some beautiful tea gift sets! I love the social sitting they have where you can converse with strangers and sip on some tasty tea. I ended up purchasing some infused Elderberry Honey and tea on the way out. This location is closing in a few months so be sure to visit. I plan to come back again!! Be mindful that the parking lot is pretty small and it's right off the highway.

This is such a cool place. I went here and did the private tea service. We wanted non caffeinated and the host put together some off menu options for us. They were very pretty and smelled nice. I liked the orange one and the other one with hibiscus. The butterfly pea tea one was pretty and not super tasty. It was still fun to try. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, definitely recommend. I want to go back and try the community table too!

Nut allergies beware!...just kidding, tea has no nuts. Stellar service and experience with Nick today with our party of six. We did the private tea tasting and were able to select four teas to have a Gongfu Cha experience over 2 hours and 15 minutes. The experience means that the tea is steeped quickly around 10 times, and you sample the tea at different levels of steeping to identify how the flavors mature. So we got around 30-40 small cups of tea over that course of time. ($20/hr/person = $270 for our group) Nick was great conversation during our time, along with sharing his wealth of tea knowledge. I'm not sure if it's something I would do often due to the cost, but the offering is fantastic and they do other styles like self service and a "brewer's choice" tea bar that are more affordable. Parking can get a bit difficult as their lot is pretty small off the feeder road. Look for the "Tea here" sign!

My wife and I came by after enjoying a Japanese tea tasting just over a month ago elsewhere and constantly driving by this place. Happy we did. We sat at the bar and enjoyed around 4-5 pots of different teas served to everyone sitting around. Our server educated us on all the things happening while taking questions and obviously enjoying his parr in it all. We left with some tea coin samples and another tea set to supplement our own stock. My wife is a Sommelier, so her pleasure speaks volume for the tasting experience. Great service, beautiful atmosphere, nice vibe with the music, great tea. 5 stars.

A whole new experience for me! Wow!!! I had no clue about the tea house culture and rituals! It was an experience, fun and gratifying! The best with no doubt about was our tea master! Super charming, animated, friendly, happy, funny and knowledgeable! This super upbeat guy will make you smile and lift your spirit no matter what. In the tea house you sit around a table drinking tea and chatting, meeting new people or just sharing with your group in a magical, spiritual ambiance! No matter what happens there you feel renovated and want to be back! Just try it!

This was a really nice place to unwind and forget about the time. We were able to try a variety or tea, from pu'er to oolong. With the right tea server you can get many different conversations. Philosophical, linguistic, history, and geography. You can go as a party or by yourself. I had fun sitting at the bar and you end up meeting new people as they sit down and get up between steeps. The more the merrier as you can try more of an assortment of tea. I really learned a lot of how to enjoy and drink tea, but am by no means an expert. I really want to get my own tea set and learn how to serve a nice brew with friends. The sticky rice tea was my favorite.

First time here! Came with a friend and we got to enjoy a variety of tea. You can choose to have your own table ($20) or sit at the tea bar with strangers ($5 per pot), which is what we did. We spent about 1.5 hours there enjoying good conversations and tea . My favorite type of tea is usually Pu'er/bolay, which was the first tea they served You can buy teas, teacups there too! The herbs smell very good and I love the vibes.

This is a very cute place! I came in around 2 PM on a random Tuesday afternoon by myself when I was in the area, and I dropped in on a tea session going on for a small group of UT students. Even though it was just me, the tea master who was pouring (Leland) had me pull up a chair and join. It's $5 per person per pot of tea, and each time a pot is brewed, they give you a little bit at a time in your cup and go around the table, then brew more from that batch until the teapot is empty. I didn't stay long since it was my first time but I had a lovely Pu-er tea, and got to sample a long steep plum white tea that was my favorite of the two. The place doesn't look big from outside but it's the size of a small house inside so it's a good space! There's a small area out back with a bench too where you can have tea if you'd like. They have lots of traditional Chinese tea options on the menu, so there's something for everyone. All the staff were very friendly, and the vibe was chill, and the company was good. I had a lovely time, Im sure I'll go back with some friends at some point

The jellies added just enough sweetness to make the drink more enjoyable without overpowering it. Since we ordered everything at lower sweetness, that little boost made a noticeable difference. Once properly mixed, the salted crema elevated the drink even more. It added dimension and somehow lifted the entire flavor profile, making everything taste fuller and more cohesive. Pandan, Pandan, Pandan -- I liked the flavor, but I felt like the 25% sweetness dulled some of the pandan's impact. It ended up tasting almost like a gentler, blander matcha -- which, honestly, I didn't mind since I'm not always a fan of matcha bitterness. Let's Go Ski -- easily my favorite of the night. The sweetness was mellow and balanced, and the winter melon flavor really stood out in the best way. Winter melon can sometimes lean overly artificial, but this one tasted just right. Like the Jaded, the salted crema worked wonders here when mixed properly. The way it accentuated the drink genuinely elevated the entire flavor profile without overwhelming the mellow sweetness. The boba here was absolutely perfect texture-wise -- chewy with just the right bite. It wasn't as sweet as I expected boba to be, but honestly, that worked in its favor. Sometimes, less sweetness lets you focus more on the actual flavor of the drink instead of the toppings stealing the spotlight. My best friend actually went back for another drink before the night ended and chose the Taro-Zo Matcha at 25% sweetness. Taro-Zo Matcha -- we absolutely loved the subtlety of this drink. We both agreed it tasted even better once mixed properly, and whatever they use as the base for their ube crema is honestly addictive. It added this creamy richness that made the drink incredibly easy to keep sipping. To put it into perspective: between the three of us, the drink lasted all of two minutes before it completely disappeared.

There are some tables, and big comfy couches around a coffee table in the middle of the bar which is where we sat. I had one of their happy hour cocktails that was similar to a creamy espresso martini, and they are 50% off on happy hour days/times! My friend got one of their floral cocktails which wasn't discounted but I LOVED it personally. I also got a strawberry matcha drink (non alcoholic) that was a little too sweet in my opinion; I finished it but wouldn't get it again. Overall though the cocktails and vibe in there are worth a visit alone! When it's not too hot, the area outside has little mini-chandeliers and is also very vibey.

I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.
