Seppalas Body Shop Provides Auto Collision and Restoration as well as quality detailed work done by some of the best Mechanics In the Grand Rapids area ..Seppala's body shop is a local family ran buisness serving there community and customer base for 30+ years.. My mom got into a serious accedent off of 28th by street this past month Going into a McDonalds in busy traffic which left her In alot of pain and her [car/baby] almost a total loss.. Seppala's body shop in more ways than one helped over see that her car was not only fixed but repaired correctly on the day he said it would be done.. My insurance company told me to take my car in for an estimate. I drove it down there that day (six weeks ago) to get the estimate. The only thing they would do is set an appointment for an estimate, six weeks out. These clowns recently bought out an amazing local, community-minded body shop (CarStar). We used CarStar a few times over the years. You would drive the car in - they would send someone out to take photos of the damage... a few hours later, they emailed you and the insurance company the estimate and scheduled the work. Caliber makes you wait six weeks before they can even look at your car. After waiting six weeks, I am told, "Oh, your insurance company "usually" sends their estimator out to take photos and approve the repair. I explained that my insurance company was the one that told me to bring it into them in the first place. The receptionist explains, well - our Estimator Bill handles the estimates with your insurance company, and he says they have to come out. So call them and have them come out to look at your car, and then we can schedule a repair. I waited SIX WEEKS for this lazy crap. I called my insurance company back - they told me in no uncertain terms that they would work from the repair estimate from the body shop. Great - I'll do that, just not CALIBER. So much for trying to support my neighborhood business. I will find another - more reputable and customer-oriented shop.

As a result, I've had to go back through insurance to have the work re-evaluated and will be getting the repairs redone elsewhere. I am very disappointed in the quality of work delivered. If you care about your vehicle, or especially if you're a car enthusiast, I would strongly recommend staying clear of this shop and seeking out a more professional and detail-oriented repair facility.

It took the insurance company forever to get back with them. I checked in at one point and they were surprised that I had not heard from insurance. They told me, without telling me directly, that needed to contact my company. Who knows how much longer I would have waited if they didn't let me kind of know what was going on.
