This bar has the reputation of being a hang out for "preppies"/"frat boys" etc let me assure you it is not but with a large university just walking distance away I can see why it seems that way. I meet all types here and they also host many smaller local bands which I admire. When a band does play here it's usually free which is another bonus. Appears to be poorly organized no matter what night you go. If you ask different people the cover change at the door, everyone will give you a different answer. With an establishment such as this one, or any nightlife for that matter; it's best to be on one accord and get your ducks in a row for any type of event. Knowing your worth is important. THE BATHROOMS WERE DISGUSTING. I attached some pictures. Public park bathroom level. Graffiti everywhere and dried liquids I don't even want to know what all over the floor. One of the sinks was almost entirely ripped apart, with empty soap bottles flipped over and no paper towels. Sides that come with the order don't actually come with it, and you're expected to get up and find them yourself (as the waiters didn't even bother to tell us where to find them). If this place is going to look and smell like a bar, it needs to be like that instead of advertising it as a "brunch" place. I was appalled by the cleanliness and won't be back. read more

Overwhelmingly underwhelmed: essentially an old dive bar now trying to be a brunch club. Menu was confusing and the price was really high for what you actually got and the service was slow. You have to order at the counter, so you feel really duped by the time you get your food and try it and realize how much you Over tipped. The mimosa is a $15 mini bucket of fruit punch and ice, not much champagne. There is a mural that says something along the lines of, "not having fun? Lower your expectations." I ordered 5 ranch waters and handed 2 to my friend to pass to others. I turned back around to notice 2 were full and the other was about 1/4 full. I asked the bartender if I could get another because it must've spilled. He said "it's not my problem if you spilled a drink" then he grabbed the drink and noticed the cup was leaking and gave me another. Don't love him blaming a customer immediately for no reason. Went there for one night and will most likely be my last time going there. The service was friendly for the most part. Basically, I opened a tab, the bar tenders held on to my card, nothing out of the ordinary. However, when I went to close it out, they gave my card to some other person who "had an identical style card" as mine. Doesn't make sense considering they gave my card to a girl and I'm a guy. They also claimed that our cards looked the same, definitely not true. Same color, but different style printing. They were little to no help as well in regards to trying to help me get my card back. I love brunch so I wanted to try a new place and the idea of a brunch bar sounded like a good one, but in this case maybe not so much. This place feels like it's a bar that one day decided to serve breakfast. I got the Bills Your Dad, and the hash browns were more like mashed potato strips, and the meal overall was just basic. My wife got the biscuits and gravy which sounded awesome but when it came out it had clearly been microwaved, and the gravy itself was weirdly gritty. This place feels more like a bar that happens to have breakfast more than a brunch place. I get the draw of this place, but the food is lazily put together. Was disappointed with the biscuits and gravy (the gravy was oily, broken, and lumpy). My partner got the pool party, which was better but was super basic and just ok. We also got the papaya with fruit and yogurt which ended up being really difficult to eat. They got rid of most of the good part of the papaya and didn't cut up the remainder to eat with the rest of the fruit. We got kicked out for no reason. Some bouncer came up and started randomly pushing me and my friends trying to get physical with us to instigate a fight. This bouncer called us a lot of racial slurs and should be fired. I want a manager to respond to this so I can give his name to them. They turn the lights on at one and start kicking everyone out by shining flashlights in your eyes and yelling at you to leave. If you enjoy terrible drinks and rude people this bar is for you. Apparently Covid doesn't exist at West End because there was not a mask in sight and I had to shove my way through the enormous crowd just to get to the bar to get a drink. On top of that, once I got to the bar, the bartender himself was not even wearing a mask and was basically spitting in the girl next to me's face. So once we finally got our drinks, at 1:40 we started getting screamed at to leave. That's all fine and good except my boyfriend hadn't finished his beer and he was attempting to finish it when a bouncer got in his face and started screaming at him to "get the fuck out." My boyfriend then made a joke asking if he could at least finish his beer first which prompted said bouncer to grab him by the collar and proceed to shove him out and almost down the stairs. When he was close to almost pushing my boyfriend down the stairs I grabbed the bouncer by the sweatshirt and told him not to touch my boyfriend like that he turned around and said "Oh yeah? What are you going to do about it bitch?" Long story short this bar is trash, their drinks are trash, and their staff is trash.
