Great people, great facility and outstanding care. Our dogs don't get in as often as I know they would like, but when they do it's obvious they have had a great day. Whether it's workday daycare or a week of boarding, the dogs are always excited to get there and happily exhausted when their stay is done. Meeting the owner and the awesome staff, it's clear that this isn't your average board 'em and charge 'em affair. These folks care about the dogs, care about pet owners, care about their employees and take pride in their facility. Fortunate to live close to their facility and I need to do my dogs a solid and get them in for daycare more often than we have. As far as boarding them for a week+, we won't even consider an alternative facility. Finding a doggy daycare facility after moving to a new state or location is often difficult. I wanted to ensure my dogs are safe, cared for, and comfortable, but most of all, they are happy. Before I toured the Woofy Wellness Ranch for wellness day, I made an appointment to visit the site. Once my appointment was accepted and scheduled, the staff greeted me very well at the door. They were very welcoming. Wellness day is when you bring your dog(s) for their first-day assessment and to see how they do with the other dogs on the first day. The Service: I sat with a manager to discuss their services, and the manager informed me about the facility. After 15-20 mins, I was introduced to the behavior counselors overseeing the dogs. They explained what they do and how they observe and then reported their assessment once the initial wellness assessment day was complete. To me, their team and staff worked well. While the doggies were acclimating to the environment and introduced, I had the opportunity to tour the bus and see the inside. The bus had multiple kennels, which were secured for safety. The Assessment: After the assessment, I sat down with the counselor and a manager and discussed my dogs' behavior during their evaluation. I was impressed that the facility has behavioral counselors and that they shared their observations. The counselors also introduced my dogs to different groups and informed me about packs. The counselors explained that Dogs like to hang out with packs and where they will be the most comfortable. The next step: For overnight, the dogs will need to undergo a kennel test. This test ensured that the dogs were comfortable during their overnight stays. I had to make a separate appointment for a kennel test. Our family LOVES the Woofy Wellness Ranch. We moved here in 2021 and have been bringing our dog since for both overnight stays and day school. I know she loves it because as soon as we arrive, she's so excited! Even though we don't come every week, all the staff knows my dog by name and takes great care of her. Where do I begin describing our nightmare experience with this business? I want to preface my post by advising that our father is a disabled veteran who served his country in the Marines, US Army and the National Guard, but as honourable as his service is, unfortunately he developed many service related medical and mental health issues. As a family we decided to purchase a dog to help him and to keep him somewhat active; as he is physically limited as it relates to his mobility, and often spends time at home. With the aim of providing a companion for our father, we purchased a Great Dane puppy and we gifted him to our father. We decided as our father is older, and some days he is not physically able to walk the dog, the most pragmatic thing would be to enrol the dog in a doggie daycare during the day, where he could run around and get daily exercise. From the genesis, there were problems with this day-care. As I mentioned previously, our dog is a Great Dane, but is still a puppy, so naturally, size wise he is larger than other puppies his age, but he is still a puppy. Despite, this being common knowledge to most, the staff at the day care decided that due to the size of our puppy he should have been placed in a setting with adult dogs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I protested this, as our dog was a shy puppy, who irrespective of his size, should not have been removed from a setting with puppies his age, to be placed with adult dogs who at times can be aggressive. Needless to say, the staff played down our concerns, and explained that our puppy would be monitored closely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On December 5th, I was contacted by the staff from the daycare, and advised that our dog, had an injury to one of his paws, which was bleeding. I immediately left work to travel to the daycare. When I questioned what happened to his paw, the staff told me that he had been stung by an insect. As his paw continued to bleed and he was visibly in discomfort, I decided to have him examined elsewhere. We were shocked, when advised that the injury to his paw, was not due to an insect sting, but rather the skin being ripped from his paw, due to frost bite! Upon hearing this, I instantly became upset, as the staff at the daycare lied to me about what really happened, probably due to them not properly supervising our dog. My level of discomfort instantly increased, as why would the staff lie about an injury? And what else would they arbitrarily decide to lie about in the future in order to protect themselves? [[HIGHLIGHT]]I expressed my concerns to the facilities director, who apologised and explained that he had not been aware of the injury, and that he would speak with his staff regarding the fact that they lied about what happened[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. He later advised that in fact our dog was allowed to play in an area where the astroturf was frozen, and his paw became stuck due to the ice, and ultimately skin was ripped from his paw. How was this allowed to happen? Why would the staff allow a dog to enter an area in which they had not taken the time to properly heat for the purpose of defrosting the astroturf? What was more disturbing was their immediate reaction to absolve themselves from any responsibility and lie about what occurred. I was offered a concession on the fees for the next month if we decided to keep our dog in their daycare. As we hoped that this business would have been a good fit for our dog, we allowed him to remain there. After that incident, I was contacted sometimes weekly by staff advising that our dog was too "humpy". Considering the staff claim to be experienced dog handlers, I was shocked that they were unable to utilise the tools which they should have acquired, and applied them to actually deal with a common occurrence such as a dog humping another dog. Moreover, considering that our dog was prematurely placed in a setting with dogs who were older and more advanced than him, it should not have come as a shock that a puppy was now mirroring the behaviour of older more mature dogs. I was constantly bothered at work about this humping issue, and just when I thought, this experience could not get any worse, on January 31st, I was contacted by the staff and advised that another dog had attacked and bitten our dog! How did this happen? Considering the staff makes claims that the dogs under their care are all closely monitored, coupled with the promise that our dog would be watched closer due to his age, why were the staff so negligent that our dog was allowed to be attacked by another dog? Our dog had to be sedated in order to receive stitches, and he has now been left in extreme discomfort. Our father who the dog was purchased for, fell into a deep depression, after learning his dog had been attacked, and having to observe him on a daily basis in pain caused by the attack. So, the negligence shown by this business not only affected our dog, but also my father who was already in a fragile mental state, and is currently blaming himself. read more

Wouldn't suggest taking your dog to any other daycare. From day 1 these people make sure you know how well your dog is being taken care of at their day care service. You can drop off on site or you can meet at the "bus stop" and send your dog off to daycare. The ultimate in convenience. 1 day a week...4 days a week, miss a day and make it up. Woofy makes sure your experience is as convenient as possible. If your dog is having any issues, they look into it for you and if anything's wrong they provide you with best course of action. They work daily on grooming bad habits out of your pup and help them learn the proper way to interact with other dogs. They have many different large outdoor areas where your dog is placed into a group with the same behavioral traits to avoid confrontations/problems. Their boarding service is excellent as well, you can leave your dog at the daycare where they are watched all weekend or opt to have them taken home with one of the staff members. LaShay is our favorite boarder (?). She sends pictures and updates all weekend long to make you more comfortable with the process. I was previously using another doggie day care for our two small dogs, but then we adopted a 60 pound doggie we were fostering. I knew we were going to have to find a new daycare (as the prior one only allowed dogs under 25 lbs). All of our dogs hate to be alone and dislike being crated. However, our newest dog spends the entire time trying to destroy the crate and escape. So, crating him is an absolute last resort. The new dog and our mid-sized dog are very bonded. So, we knew that they needed to be together. Right around this time Woofy opened up a bus stop at my office complex. So, we decided to check it out. They have been fantastic. I really can't say enough good things about them. So, fair warning . . . this is going to be a long review. Our 3 dogs have been going to Woofy for about 3 months now. I love it (for many many reasons) and most importantly, they love it. How do I know they love it, you might ask. Well . . . First, once they realize it is dog day care day, our two dogs that go twice a week now are like two little kids on Christmas. No kidding. They start doing the, "OK, mom hurry up! We are ready to leave!" dance at the door. Second, they are always happy to see the Woofy employees at the bus stop. They pretty much leap out of the car. Third, at the end of the day it is all tail wags, sloppy kisses, and sleepy dogs. Both of our dogs that go twice a week are around 2 years old and both are energetic breeds. Nothing makes these guys tired at the end of the day except Woofy. That would be reason enough to take them, but there is more. My initial impressions of Jeff's team are that they all know a lot about dog behavior and really really love dogs of all kinds. Most importantly, they don't discriminate by breed. Each dog receives an evaluation before they come to Woofy to place them with the right playmates. This was key for me, as one of dogs is mostly blind. So, he has trouble in very wild groups. So, they really do take steps to make sure everyone has a great and safe time. The trainer (Bill) is wonderful with dogs. Our midsize dog can be a bit standoffish with some people. She took to him in like 5 minutes, which doesn't happen with most people. They are very focused on customer service and open to any feedback that might improve their business and service. They have always been so flexible and easy to work with. You don't see businesses so focused on customer service anymore. I found this very refreshing and can't wait to see what else they come up with. Plus, I love how they take a holistic approach to the whole dog and work on good doggie behavior in addition to play time. This is a major reason we decided to give them a try, as we have two younger dogs who need to work on some things (especially in environments with lots of excitement). Also, I love getting updates about how they did during the day and the occasional picture. The other place I used never once sent photos of them just playing around in the many years our dogs went there (even when they were being boarded there for a week, which we did many times over the course of time). This is a little thing, but it does set this place apart. Another little thing, the bus is always on time. If there is ever any sort of minor delay, they always send a text message to let you know. Usually, this has only been a minute or two due to traffic on the interstate on the way to drop off. No big deal, but very nice that they give you quick heads up. Additionally, this service is just so convenient. The other day care added an hour to my day to drive to the business, then back to work, then back to pic up, and then home. Woofy pics up outside my office. I was going there anyway. Now i just bring my dogs along. Plus, I get all of the above. Total no brainer, in my opinion. Woofy all the way!! We will be using Jeff and his team for boarding in October and I am so happy that one of the staff members (Matt) is going to board our dogs in his home while we are away. I know they will like that so much better than the kennel and will be good hands while we are away. I will enjoy our vacation so much more knowing they are in an environment as close to my home as possible. Plus, they will all be together. There are not enough kind words in the dictionary to describe The woofy wellness ranch. I adopted my dog, Kylie, 3 years ago. She was returned to the pound multiple times before I adopted her, so she had some major separation issues. With that being said, she is never more excited than she is when she sees the woofy bus in front of our house. For someone who was once mortified when I left her sight, this is a sight I thought I would never see. Everyone at the ranch is accommodating and truly cares about the dogs there. The owner, Jeff, watches Kylie every time I am out of town and I will never leave her with anyone else now. The happiness I witness when Kylie goes to camp is priceless. The woofy wellness ranch is money well spent and I urge anyone with a four legged best friend to give them a shot. My dog gets more excited to see Jeff and the woofy bus than she is when she sees me. Ps: the fact that the bus comes and picks Kylie up in the morning and drops her off in the evening is an added bonus and makes this very convenient. I want to write a review for Woofy. But quite frankly, I don't think any words of mine will do this place justice. I've never even been there. The bus showed up at my apartment for some event and I just chatted with the staff there and signed up for kicks and giggles. But my pup Asha goes every week and she absolutely loves it. And I love how the bus comes to pick her up! So, now we're stuck with Woofy! I'll just list all the great things that I like about Woofy. 1) Asha runs to the bus now when they come to pick her up. (If she's happy, I'm happy.) 2) Asha is so much more social now. She used to just sit in the house all day so whenever she was around other dogs, she would either run away or growl. But now she can actually play and have fun with other dogs. 3) When she comes home, she's dead-dog tired. So I don't have to walk her that evening. 4) They just started taking her to the groomers. And quite frankly, she came back to me with the best haircut I've ever seen on her. I was actually shocked. 5) The morning and evening bus drivers are the nicest people on earth. 6) She seems to eat all of her lunch at the ranch because whenever they drop her off, her bowl is empty. She never eats this much at home. 7) The staff will respond to my text messages! 8) I love how they post her pics on Facebook. - I don't think I'm missing anything but if I am, I'll come back and update. read more

We having been taking one of the dogs here since the summer. She LOVES it! When I moved here with my dog, she and my sister's dog didn't get along, I had almost given up hope until Bill and the crew at Woofy Wellness came along. We took my dog first, and she loved it. Then Eva went. She had been to a few other places and came out like they were a forced trip to the vet, all bug eyed and not able to get out fast enough. But here, she didn't want to leave. We talked to Bill and decided that with Eva going twice a week would help both. The environment is structured and teaches the dogs without them knowing they are being taught. To them it's fun and games. But I can see the difference in both dogs from the two days that Eva gets to go. The staff goes out of their way to provide great customer service. For two weeks Eva has to stay somewhere else, and Jeff volunteered to make sure she still got to day care for her two days. No one else would offer to drive out of their way to pick up a dog. And now they have started to produce videos to show what the dogs are learning, but also to teach the dog owners. I think we are harder to train than any of the dogs. I can't say enough about how happy we are to have found this place. They have a mobile vet to come give your dogs shots (which they track better than the vet) and the knowledge the team has to deal with dogs keeps my mind at ease. Eva is always easiest on the nights after she has gone to play and learn with her friends. We look forward to seeing your dog and hearing stories about their day. Love this place! read more

So happy I took my new rescue, Rocko, to Woofy for a day. It was a great way for him to be socialized with both furry friends and people! Not to mention, during our orientation/site visit, the trainers took the time to teach me a few things to work on with Rocko at home. All of their help was super appreciated -- they even offered to meet at a time that worked with my schedule (which happened to be outside of their usual hours). Rock-dawg had an absolute blast. This has to be the BEST KEPT SECRET in Richmond for dog owners. My wife saw the "Woofy Bus" in the West End and thought "that's cool." A few days later we got a postcard for the Woofy Wellness Ranch. With an upcoming trip, we decided to do a "test run" just for the day with our Giant Schnauzer, Mica. She has only been with us for a month and while obedient, can be a handful at times. The Woofy Bus stopped right at the front door of my office on a Friday morning at 8am and picked her up. To be honest, I felt like a parent sending their child to school for the first time. I even had a crowd of co-workers watching. During the day, I got several updates from Jeff and Matt and then at 5pm, the Woofy Bus made its way back to my office to drop off our girl. She was happy to see me but also tired from a day of play with her new friends. Since that day ... we have been 100% "all in" for the Woofy Wellness Ranch. They do everything exceptionally well ... - Great service - Frequent updates - Knowledgeable staff - Curbside service ... all at a reasonable daily rate. Could you find cheaper? Maybe. Could you find better? I don't think so. Mica is there again this week and is spending some nights with Matt while I am out of town ... and she is absolutely loving it. And did I mention ... they have been working with her to bring down her anxiety level and getting her more under control? That individualized attention is something you won't get at many other daycare centers. I could go on and on ... but I won't :-) But I will close with this: If you have a dog that spends their days in the back yard or in a crate all day while you are at work, do them and yourself a favor and put them on the Woofy Bus.
