I am not sure where to begin with my grow a frog saga. I had a grow a frog when I was child and…read moreone day disappeared from the tank. Presumably, it "jumped" out, but I seem to remember not feeding it or ever changing the water.. In an emotional discussion with my gf I told her a my past tragedy. The good soul that she is decided to gift me some grow a frogs in an effort to relive this childhood experience. The arrived in their little styrofoam pod and their instructions demanded distilled water. After running around trying to procure the water I set up their habitat. The habitat consisted of some colored sand and two fake shells. Initially I was given two frogs to nurture, but through some web promotion I ended up with 4. After caring from them and seeing them mature into full sized adults tragedy struck and two died. While the grow a frogs are kinda interesting in the sense that for a few months they were transparent they are not always the best pets and have become burdens. The frogs often soil their "habitat" minutes after cleaning. The can be loud at night if they are fighting. In fact they were so loud and raucous that I had to remove their shells because they kept banging them around. Also, they offer no companionship and are generally just consumers in this toxic relationship. For a brief time I did own "tube town" which is a large habitat connected with tubes but it took up too much space. I have also tried using a water filter for their tank but not even that worked. On the plus side is that the Three Rivers Co. offers "clapping powder" which cause the frogs to clap. I am convinced it is some agent that causes them to seize for several minutes, so I discontinued the use of it. Their "food" also leaves a horrible smell on your hands making you want to induce vomiting. Regardless, Three Rivers Co. and their mascot "Gilly" are great and will even take the frogs back. I have considered this option, but feel guilt. Ohh and dont even think of putting them in the wild as they will disrupt the ecosystem. Seriously, they will... My frogs are about 4 years old now and are still without names. They are almost wards of the state and I suspect I will be on TLC on some animal show where they repo the frogs. In terms of pets they are marginally better than an ant farm, but not as cool as sea monkeys. UPDATE: Tragedy has struck again and another GAF has perished. Only one frog (read: burden) remains.

Home of Grow-A-Frog!…read more Get a complete kit, send the stock certificate back, and get a tadpole...Unless you opt for a froglet in one of the complete habitats. Get a girlfriend or boyfriend for your grown-up froglet, even albino frogs are available. Grow-A-Frogs are really hardy pets, but they are water frogs that live in still bowl water much like a goldfish. They're unusual, low maintenance pets that love to eat. The newer dome kits are cool. Connect several habitats together. Growafrog.com is a one-stop shopping site for complete frog care. Their life cycle kits are great for young classrooms. The company has been around since the late 70s. My primary frog lasted from early undergrad through my later 20s until my mother took care of it while I was on a business trip and it hopped out and dried out under the furniture. A sad day.

As I walked to the front door. they shut it and locked it. ( it was wide open when I got there ) they didn't even say that they were closed. They seen me sitting there when they walked out. And said nothing. I knocked on the door. No one answered. I drove around the front and took a picture of the phone number and called twice to no avail. I called the following day and asked to speak with the manager. He knew I was going to call. The kids said I was out on my phone, and he let the manager know that I was going to call. I asked the manager how did he know if I was going to call and why would he know that. I'll tell you why because he shut and locked the door in my face and didn't even have the courtesy to tell me that they were closed at three. And the manager was quite rude. And I hung up on him and that was my first time and last time at the store. The manager told me that the kid told him I was on the phone for a few minutes before I got out. I tried asking the manager why didn't the kid tell me that he was closing? closed? He was already there he seen me. And when I called after they shut and locked the door on me it was 3:01 PM. Pretty shitty customer service. If I was sitting in my car for so long., how did I call them twice at 3:01. When I got there at 2:55? And I had to drive around the front of the building, to take a picture of the phone number to call them. All in a matter of six minutes. So if I called twice at 3:01 when I had the drive around the front to get the number in the first place, they closed the store early. I hope the owner sees this! Because if I was him, neither one of them kids would have a job. They need to learn customer service. PS you only got one star review only because I had to post a star to post this review
