I went to the dealership twice to look the vehicle over and test drive. 45 min each way. After negotiations we settled on a price, date and time to sign the paperwork. The words specifically that were used were "We accept your offer of $$$$" and so a time and date to sign paperwork was agreed upon. I received a "boarding pass" confirming that we had a set time to sign the sales documents and take possession of the vehicle. It stated: Your booking is confirmed. Please print this for your records. We look forward to welcoming you on board ! Appointment date : 7/21/2025 Time : 5:30 PM I received the boarding pass at 5:51 PM on 7/20/2025 after confirming to him at 5:48 PM on 7/20 I was indeed proceeding with the sale. At 10:30 AM on 7/21/2025 I received a call that the car had been sold to someone else. Salesman's name is Jared Baker. Any reasonable person would believe after agreeing to price, location, time and receiving a confirmation letter from the dealer we have a deal. BS ! No integrity at all. Time estimate was four hours, so I brought a good book and hung out. Actual was six and a quarter hours. No interaction with Wendy, the service advisor until I asked for a status. Was advised would be another 60 or 90 minutes as was very busy. After two more hours, asked for update. No response but saw car being vacuumed so figured the ordeal was about over. Watched Wendy go to service desk near the waiting area...no eye contact as she gave invoice to another advisor to handle. Paid the bill. Noticed the invoice suggested a fuel injection service for around $500 and wrote'customer declined'. The service was never offered. The invoice indicated that I would be receiving a client satisfaction survey from the dealer and also one from Honda nationwide. Like the most recent service before this, no survey was received. If it had been received, I would have given them the lowest possible score and a detailed narrative to explain it. The general environment at the dealership seems positive and the staff seems knowledgeable and motivated. I hope that my experience was an anomaly although my last three interactions with them have all been below reasonable standards. I'm probably moving on at this point. read more

This place is beyond shady. I bought my vehicle at another dealership. Because it's covered under Honda Cares, I brought it to West Hills Honda for it's first service. Boy was that a mistake! Firstly, it took me multiple weeks of calling to verify i could even bring it to this dealership for servicing under my HondaCares plan. That should of been my first clue to never come here. It took several hours longer than quoted for just an oil change (my first time its taken 3+ hrs when I'm usually out in less than 45min) . Then, I get charged when the oil change should of been free. After all that added drama, they kept trying to sell me a maintenance plan which I already purchased when I bought the vehicle! It's on the account- i pointed it out to them multiple times, which they acknowledged and still tried to sell me again!! I get phone calls from them telling me my oil service is due (it's not even at 67% yet!!!) And that my brand new, 1-year old tires need replacing! Which, they don't! Even Les Schwab commented how good they were. You hear about used car sells people being shifty, but they don't tell you some dealerships are just as rotten. Avoid at all costs! read more

I'm a simple woman. When I hear that a particular vehicle fix is "under warranty" from a car company, I understand it to mean that I can bring it into the local dealership and have it fixed free of charge. If this is also the way you understand the phrase "under warranty," do whatever you can to avoid getting your car serviced at West Hills Honda. Our 2019 Honda Accord started popping up SRS errors every time I turned on the car, and while I assumed it was a wiring issue, I wanted to make sure the airbag system was still working as designed. When I took the car to our trusted mechanic, he pointed out that, while he could fix it, the part was still under warranty, so it would make more financial sense to take it to the Honda dealership and get it replaced. First mistake. (On my part, not his.) I brought the Accord in early on September 13, knowing that I'd have to wait for the work to be finished since a) it's our only car and b) West Hills doesn't provide free loaners. Andrew from the service center greeted me and, after a quick walkaround of the car, handed a tablet to me to sign. Second mistake. I shouldn't have done that. In my undercaffeinated state, I didn't read the fine print which apparently gave them the right to charge me for any work they did. Andrew quickly whisked away both the tablet and the car, leaving me to wait while I became increasingly confused. Wait, why did he ask for payment? Wasn't this fix under warranty? I sent several texts Andrew's way, trying to get clarification on this issue, and got no response. I finally called the "direct number" Andrew had given me, which connected to the customer service desk, and asked for clarification. They assured me Andrew would call me back. Well, he didn't. Instead he sent a fairly terse text that said, in essence, "We're already doing the diagnostic right now and we're going to charge you for that, you signed paperwork saying we could, no take-backsies." The charge to look under the hood was $200+. The charge for the necessary part would be another $300+, but I refused any other service because I wasn't going for a third mistake. Because they literally wouldn't give me my car back until I'd paid them for the diagnostic, they got the $200+ charge (plus an additional 3% fee because I used a credit card). I took the car back to my trusted mechanic. He sourced the part and had it fixed and ready to go in 15 minutes, and the whole thing set me back less than the diagnostic test West Hills Honda had charged. (And he didn't charge me a freaking 3% fee either.) The mechanic verified that this part should not have failed within 5 years and that Honda should have covered it under warranty. Instead, they charged me for it. West Hills got their money and I hope they enjoy it, because I'm never spending another penny there. I'm never taking another car to them for service again. I'm never going to buy a car from them. I wouldn't even stop to use their bathroom in an emergency. These folks are pure crooks, and if my car broke down on the roadside I'd rather sell it for scrap than allow them to touch it again. read more

My husband had been shopping around for a car while we were still overseas (just flew in a few days ago); and West Hills Honda was the only place that had a car that I'd like and would get right away after he put down a deposit (all other places had a 3-6 month wait). Decided on a 2023 HR-V Sport as it was similar in size to the 2011 CR-V I had and sold a few years ago. When we arrived, we finally were able to put faces to the people my husband had been speaking with over email and were super helpful during that process. Our main guy was Charlie Brown and took me out on a test drive and broke down all the features of the car and I was able to drive it a bit around an empty parking lot nearby to get a feel of it behind the wheel. While the whole purchase process is long (especially for our 5 year old who was with us and still with a bit of jet lag), it was very smooth thanks to Charlie! Blake was our finance guy and clearly explained the difference between buying and leasing the car and went with the latter due to a possible overseas move again within a year and would better for us money-wise going in that direction. It was a sad and shameful day when I visited West Hills Honda to buy an advertised Subaru Outback. I needed to replace my 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which had been wrecked in a collision with a truck going the wrong way on Rt. 16. I had searched the internet for deals and found a 2021 Subaru Outback for about $21,000. I contacted the internet salesperson, found it was still available, and made an appointment to come in to look at it. I fell in love with that car. I drove it and said I'll buy it. I even took a photo of it with the floor manager, a fellow AF Retiree, who helped close the deal. I showed him the price quoted me at $21,000. We wrote up a contract that would allow me to drive it home, and then come back to pay it off in cash. Not so fast, said another manager who reviewed the offer. We made a mistake he said. The price of this car should be $33,560! I told him the price I was quoted was $21,000, and that he was obligated to let me buy it at that price. To bait and switch on me was unethical and based on false advertising. At every management level they refused to give it to me as advertised. Unethical, unprincipled, and disreputable! Peculiarly, I go to change my brake pads and suddenly my wheel lock is missing. Is this a tactic to force owners to purchase tires through West Hills Honda? Perhaps, but I find it coincidentally peculiar that my wheel lock comes up missing when I need to purchase new tires. The oil chance went smoothly, with only a few clips missing or broken, but at least oil drain bolt was correct, not over-torqued, and oil replaced. read more

Usually 15 to 30 minutes through the years. My last express oil change here took 2 hours and 25 minutes! Then I am told that all the "service points" that I had accumulated were no longer recognized and could no longer be used against part of my service cost. And the up-sell that I got was something else. When I arrived home, there was an email waiting with a button to click that looked like it would give me a list of all the recommendations. I purchased a vehicle 2nd week in may and it took them until June 14 to process the title to send to my state. Two weeks later my state tells me there was no title sent. I investigate and discover the title clerk forgot and was sending the title out overnight Fedex to the DMV. Great until I learn my DMV take 2-3 weeks to process incoming mail. Now it is July. My DMV will take up to 8 weeks to process the title and send me my plates. My DMV will only issue 2-20 day trip permits ()which have already expired) so I am unable to legally drive the vehicle I just bought. I bought a used car from West Hills Honda on June 2. Today is July 24 and I still don't have my plates. My temporary ones expired the 17th. The 17th I was told they would overnight night them. I was also promised a second key fob. They were going to get it from the guy that traded the car in. I texted the sales person Martin he said he would make sure the plates were sent. When asked about the key fob he said the man didn't bring it in and he wasn't paying for it out of his personal money. I said maybe you should check with a manager. He said he would. I called Friday and was told they would check into my plates and have a manager reach out to me. It's Monday they are going to mail my plates today and check on the key fob. Updated: to reduce rating back to one star. My wife's Pilot came with a service package that provided free services for a period of time. I specifically requested that it be the corporate plan that could travel with us as I am active duty. I paid for it. I got their local stealership plan that left me without when I got to the next place. I called them for help and they said there was nothing they could do. Seriously, thanks for the fleece job. Buyer beware. Previous review: I bought my wife a Pilot on Veterans Day and had a much better experience than my previous one. Steve P was my salesman and he did a pretty good job of maintaining a low-key, no pressure experience. There was some arm wrestling towards the end over my trade and the price of the Pilot, but I suppose that can't be avoided when working with sales folk. In the end, I felt good enough about the sale that I let them talk me into all the coverages and warranties in the finance office.
