West Main Diner in Lansdale, looks like a traditional Pennsylvania urban luncheonette, but also serves as a community meeting hall. On Sunday morning it was almost full house with seniors enjoying their social life with friends and neighbors. There were younger families, too, but white hairs predominated. Why? Because even with post pandemic inflation coming under control, food prices are still higher than before, and you get more bang for your buck here. For people on fixed or other retirement income, West Main Diner is about the only welcome sign on the horizon. For this, it deserves a lot of credit. Beyond that, the grub there is pretty darn good as well. I sat at the counter in one of eight spinners overlooking the short order grill and coffee operation. Always the best place in the house for a solo traveler wanting breakfast. Menu and coffee arrived quickly. Debbie, my server answered my questions and took my order with pleasant demeanor. The house was busy, so it took almost 15 minutes for my Country Omelet (sausage, tomato, onion, green pepper, hash browns and rye toast) to arrive before me. No problem. The activity in the dining room and at the grill kept me entertained. I watched my omelet being assembled as the cook and her assistants joked with each other. When placed before me, it was steaming. Some black pepper and shakes of Tabasco, and I was ready to dive in. The eggs were perfectly moist and packed with ingredients. The taters were crispy and the rye toast buttered well. Liked it all very much. The only shortcomings were the issue around Yelp offering a free coffee @ check in, when that perk didn't exist according to management, and not being offered more coffee when I had bottom-upped my mug before finishing the meal. My sense was that they were closing at 2, and she wanted to start cleaning up her station at the counter and wanted me out of the way. I can understand that, but how much better to offer a refill and work around me for a few more minutes? This institution is still worthy of high grades despite minor inconvenience.

This place is delicious! My omelet, potatoes and coffee were great! The staff is super friendly. This is a good neighborhood diner- I'll be back!

What a great diner! Local spot where you feel right at home. The food was delicious, fresh, and hot. The service was okay but that was made up for when we paid our bill as the gentleman was very warm and friendly. Highly recommend!

The food was fine. I usually have high hope's for diners but this one was pretty basic. My waffle was delicious. The home fries could have used more seasoning though. The service is just okay though. Our server was Joanne I believe. It took a while to place our orders and she is more hands off when it comes to checking on customers. She may not be the warmest but she definitely gets her job done. I'm glad I tried this place though. The biggest downer is they do not have turkey breakfast items. While I would not run here for a meal, I would go back for a quick bite if other local places have long wait times.

Don't pass by this place. It sits in a small dated shopping plaza and would be easy to drive past. The inside betrays the worn out exterior; it is warm, clean and inviting. Service was quick and friendly and the omelet was very good. A good home cooked breakfast for about a dollar or two more than you would pay for fast food. Definitely try It out next time you're in Lansdale. They do not accept Credit Cards but have an ATM in the diner.

The bacon added a nice crunch, and everything was layered well so it didn't fall apart while eating. Overall, the portion was generous and filling, definitely worth the price. The service was also good, with staff being friendly especially Harrison and checking in without being overbearing. The atmosphere of the diner felt comfortable and clean, making it a nice place to sit down and eat.

We didn't stay, I felt that was rude and dismissive. My wife and I did come back today because they open at 10am on Sundays. The food was absolutely horrible. We ordered the eggroll sampler and fried pickles as an app. The eggrolls were tasteless, and the fried pickles were so greasy we couldn't eat them. Then on to the entrees, I ordered the brunch burger and my wife the French toast with bacon. French toast is what it is...not much you can do (and I still question my wife about ordering it). The burger, flavorless and overcooked. To make this experience better, the bacon for my wife's side and on my burger...completely raw. The food took a long time to come out, so no excuses. The service was good and I don't blame them for this. But far too many missteps. This is not just a mistake on one item...this is a restaurant that's lost its way.

Roy Ann Diner on Bethlehem Pike, Sellersville, PA, is an old roadside kitchen clothed in baby blue…read moresiding without the stainless steel and glass of traditional diners. Give it a break because inside looks as expected with long counter and booths on opposite walls. The house was very busy on a recent Sunday late morning, filled with local seniors looking for a place to socialize at amazing pre-pandemic prices. (After complaining about food inflation and gouging by many businesses, it was refreshingly remarkable to see such affordability.) Service came promptly and with a sincere smile. I ordered their Garden Omelet, which came with choice of home fries or hash brown patties and toast. I asked for the patties but received the other. Didn't complain or seek a change because I was feeling mellow and didn't want to raise the ante on this peaceful Memorial Weekend. It was all quite good. The 3-egger was plump with greens; the toast was buttered wheat; the taters well grilled with good butter/grease taste and texture. Basically licked my plate clean. The coffee was refilled without my request by the young dude assigned that duty. To walk out into the afternoon drizzle, with people waiting to get in, for $15 with tip, felt like a special win when just last week it was closer to $20 not so far away. I certainly understood Roy Ann's popularity. Hard to beat good food, good prices and good service. Nice find.

When she did, I ordered one of the specials that I had seen on the whiteboard. She immediately went into a conversation with another waitress, sitting at the counter, digging out her phone and showing pictures. I waited 5 minutes and then told her to cancel my order and walked out since I had doubts that my order was ever actually going to go in. Anytime a waitress has much more interest in her phone than doing her job, I figure it's a bad sign for the place. It saddens me to think that this diner probably will no longer be part of my life.
