This place has massively exorbitant prices. I ended up paying nearly double what it would cost online, but I was desperate. I understand this is a more remote area with less choices, so I expected a bit higher prices, but they are taking advantage of people here. I won't be back. WARNING: This pharmacy is committing fraud. As a medical provider myself - I am incredibly concerned about this illegal practice. This pharmacy charges a $100 "processing fee" to the patient "in case insurance doesn't reimburse the medication." I was told they "attempt" to charge your insurance carrier before using a manufacture coupons in "hopes" of getting reimbursed. This practice alone, discloses their double dipping. They charge patient $100 "just in case insurance doesn't reimburse them." This is however an inconsistent practice, as it seems to only be pharmacist Stacy who adds this $100 charge. I know another individual who picks up the same medication from another person in store, who does not charge the "processing fee." When I asked Sonya about this, her response was because "they are a small pharmacy that needs to stay in business." Upon talking to my insurance company, this is called pharmacy fraud, because they are double dipping between payer and patient. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have to pay out-of-pocket for a medication that I need. Every month West Marin Pharmacy raises the price $50. I feel taken advantage of, and I feel like they are greedy and unkind. They are legally allowed to do this, but they also don't have to because the pharmaceutical price has never changed. The gift selection is INCREDIBLE! So fun, in great taste...! That is part of the store: this little jewel-box-of-a-store! and the health products are really cutting edge. The pharmacy has all the conventional medicines and pills, and other aisles have the supplements and complementary medicine to support immune or whatever, which seem also rigorously researched and always top-notch! The West Marin Pharmacy rocks. From the outside, it's a tiny, old-fashioned, irrelevant looking pharmacy -- the kind being pushed out of business everywhere by Wal-whatever and Target and CVS etc. Step inside, and you realize this place is thriving. True, they're the only game for miles around...but they've stepped it up in response. 3-4 people working the counter on any given day, with more in back filling prescriptions. The owner/manager (I assume) is present and on top of things. The store size limits selection, natch, but they appear to work hard to stock a good range of the things you need. This being West Marin, there are plenty of natural/organic/alternative options. AND best of all...this place is a great toy store! I don't know how they cram this wide selection of fun and educational things into half of a tiny pharmacy, but they do. If you're passing through West Marin and the kids are antsy, you've GOT to stop in here. read more

This is LOCAL--locally owned, local customers, local employees. A vital asset to the West Marin Community as many people can't or don't like to drive over the hill for medications. I believe it is a labor of love to keep running it. Few small businesses make much profit plus there is much required in terms of compliance with drug prescriptions and ever changing reimbursements. So I try to support them in whatever small ways I can. The pharmacy still fulfills Kaiser prescriptions. read more

Really friendly staff and good selection of cosmetics and personal care items. I like the gift selections too. I haven't used the prescription service, so can't comment on that. It's in a picturesque resort town (Pt. Reyes), where shipping cost for everything is high. So the prices are bit higher than at other urban centers. Still, can't find such high quality selections at any other store within a 2-hour distance by car. You are paying for the resort location, so the prices are very reasonable. west Marin pharmacy is the only pharmaceutical game, in the area of about 20 miles in every direction. it is very family like and old time cute. unfortunately , that is all that I see as acceptable in this establishment. one of the worst prescription fillers that I ever ever encountered! I have few refills that have to be renewed on a monthly basis. many circumstances have left me quite stressed out. I have receive many calls from employees of the pharmacy, previously, explaining that my prescription is ready and should be picked up. That is great. The only issue is that there is no prescription waiting for me. ultimately ,needing to wait for an additional extended period of time, waiting for the medications to be filled . There are more excuses on why this happens, but nothing makes sense or seems truthful. many of the employees are very young and need professional training. To say the least. In terms of pricing, of either over the counter drugs, cosmetics , food, gifts or prescriptions, I have never encountered a more expensive or overpriced pharmacy in the bay area. CVS , Walgreens are cheap, compared to this "cute", pharmacy. it is cute as a business. not very efficient at all. That is the best that I can say about the pharmacy! read more
