They always have the best green crabs during tautog season... good bait makes a big difference. When we showed up - parking was a nightmare at the beach. I specifically asked about parking / general info ahead of time. Would have been helpful for the locals to give a couple pointers and maybe let us know that wrist bands need to be purchased for all beachgoers, but whatever - that's on me. Just seemed like a little common courtesy / customer service. Here's the real issue though. 1 instructor for 10 kids!! The beach lesson was maybe one minute long before he had all of them (ages 16 - 5yrs old) walking into ocean and getting pummeled in the break. They had no idea how to protect themselves or others from the surf board getting thrown around. Kids were getting smashed by boards around them. Several of the adults jumped into ocean to help the kids get past the break and stayed in water to ensure they were somewhat safe. The instructor seemed to only give tips to one kid at a time when he was prompted to give a tip (ie - when do you start paddling to catch a wave). Instructor admitted it was too much for him to handle on his own but that's just how WW operates. If it was a group of 10 random strangers there would be two instructors, but apparently when it's a 'private lesson' of 10ppl - only one instructor regardless of how rough the ocean is. Unacceptable. Dangerous. Should be ashamed of themselves. Find another surf shop for your lessons!

A mixed bag here. The whale watch I went on wasn't very fruitful. There were only a handful of…read morewhales and no dolphins. And the whales that we did we see weren't very close. Apparently, there was a school of tuna close by, and the whales were feeding on them below the water according to the shipmates. Now, that isn't exactly something within their control, and it's not like I was expecting the whales and/or dolphins to pose for pictures. Nonetheless, I was hoping for a little better of an experience. It's about a 4.5-hour experience with about 45 minutes of actual whale watching and the rest of the time spent getting to the spot and back. You can't really here anything the captain is saying unless your directly under the speaker. The trip could be a little better if they played some music on the way and back, but again, you wouldn't be able to really hear it that good. Having said all that, all staff encountered were pleasant and friendly and it was a pleasant ride to and from. Overall I would say it probably wasn't worth the price ($70). If I had seen more whales/dolphins I'd probably feel different. And again, I realize it's not something they can control, but it does have to factor into the rating.

The inside where you check in is very nice. They have a lot of guns for sale and tons that you can rent for the indoor range. The prices were very reasonable, and I think renting the shotgun was only $10. We did the grouse course? We went right when they opened at 9 AM, so we had the place to ourselves. I absolutely loved it and had a great time. They had a good variety of skeet. It was harder to hit them than I thought, but I held my own. I'm looking forward to trying the indoor range and skeet shooting again. Highly recommend.

Second day was on the water fly fishing for strippers. Peter, our instructor and owner, had got to be one of the most relatable persons I've met. He made us feel at ease and was very patient as he helped us navigate the equipment and casting. We had a blast! Second day on the water with Capt Rene was just as positive. Capt Rene helped us get on the fish as he also coached us all day. The two different teaching styles were very complimentary...got a lot of good nuggets from both. Paid for express shipping, but their system error delayed my order. I ordered a fishing rod and…read morespecifically chose express shipping because I needed it before a trip on Friday. The next day, I received an email saying their system failed to recognize the item as a fishing rod, so it didn't charge the correct rod shipping fee. I understand mistakes happen, but this was an error on their end. Now I'm being asked to pay an additional fee, and the order has been delayed despite the fact that I paid extra specifically to avoid that. The extra $13 isn't really the issue. The frustrating part is paying for express shipping and then potentially not receiving the rod in time because of a problem with their own ordering system. I would have expected them to honor the original delivery timeline or offer some kind of accommodation instead of passing the inconvenience onto the customer. Pretty disappointing experience, especially when the entire reason I chose express shipping was to have the rod in time for my trip.
