I told him I knew what was wrong with the stove I called you to fix it. He then gave me an estimate. His estimate is $948 to fix a chewed wire from a mouse. Luckily a contractor was here finishing work in my singing room and saw the whole ordeal. The contractor called his electrical guy who fixed it for $250.00. The contractor then took $100 off the service of his electrician because he felt bad and said " as a business owner I could never justify charging a customer to come into their home and sit on my phone". Even the contractor thought the guy scammed us. Needless to say schedule at your own will but I learned my lesson and this guy won't get a recommendation from me or the contracting company that was here doing work.

I could get it to work to either turn the lights on or shut them off but not both. I went to the store, with my receipt, to return the item. At first, they stated they got it working and it was not defective. ( They actually got it to turn on an item which I also did). Then they said they could not accept the return because I did not have the original packaging and therefore they could not resell it. I asked how are they going to sell an item that is not working properly. They still refused to accept the return. I left the timer with them and walked out of the store. We will never return. Now I understand how Amazon is so successful.

They had others for less, but all were very high end. We walked in on the 'repair' side of the shop (two doors from the sidewalk into the building) and the staff member there directed us over to the sales floor. He was the most pleasant part of our visit. I saw one staff member in the sales area who remained behind the register during our entire visit and I think there was one other staff member assisting a customer with gear. There were several customers milling around without being assisted. We exited through the sales area door and the staff member behind the register there asked if they could help but our reconnaissance pretty much told us what we needed to know. There may have been more options we didn't see, but as it was busy and the floor models all have price tags, I think we got the gist. Still, it would have been nice to have an offer of assistance before we were leaving. I wonder if the other customers there feel the same way.

Even though my rear wheel was very oily and greasy (which probably appalled him that someone, i.e., me, would actually let their wheel and sprockets be so messy) he put on some gloves and started in on my wheel. As he replaced the spoke and trued the wheel, we got chatting with him about his extended bike trips and asked for his advice regarding a much more limited bike trip that we have planned.
