    Visited this location with my cousin yesterday Monday 5/25/20. We came to look for simple boat upgrades parts and did some browsing since the location impressed us with all types of products(such as all boats marine essentials, fishing & tackle, clothing and safety gear). But our 1st time experience visit quickly turned into unpleasant, discriminating, racial profiling and wrongfully accused theft visit. After browsing around my cousin and split into two direction. My cousin went to look at clothing/shoes and I wonder to look at marine stereo systems. My cousin was then approached by the store's associate and confronted my cousin of stealing, the associate stated that he has everything on tape and wouldn't notify police/law enforcement if would leave items he might of stole. My cousin responded back and said he did steal anything , he then requested to go ahead call law enforcement and would like to see recorded footage of him being wrongfully accuse of theft. My cousin the walked away from confrontation and tracked me down in the marine stereo department, which then told me about the incident after calming down and wanting to leave store immediately. After listening to what happened to my cousin being wrongfully accused of theft. I stormed to the sales register to confront sales associate "Maurice" to tell him that I'm not purchasing the item I was holding and would like to speak to a manager about the accusation of theft on our visit to the store. The associate stated that there was no manager, he was an assistant manager and he was the only worker in the store. I then grabbed a business card and requested a customer service contact number to file complaint. Long story short, the confrontation of my complaint about false accusations of theft to associate "Maurice" that accord at sale registers. Between Maurice, my cousin and myself we would all agree on our confrontation it that yes the associate did respond in the nicest way to confront my cousin wether if was stealing or not. I then stated, "yes I would put that last statement on my complaint which we all agree on." Then I stated to associate once again, "regardless how you approach, confronted or just mentioning theft to a customer like my cousin and myself is still accusing someone of theft and you should be 100% confident and never loose eye sight contact with them before making that accusation of theft."

The mattress probably came with pinhole so didn't hold air in. Used up a credit so didn't keep the receipt. Always keep the receipts from this store. Andreas, a manager when I called to explain the situation said he could give me a $30 gift card. But when I got there, I waited about 45 minutes and he didn't give me a refund. He gave me a receipt at my request since I didn't want to go to that store again, saying I left both there for customer service to resolve the next day...figured he could mail me a gift card as promised. The Big 5 store where I bought it understood the situation and apologized for the way I was treated because the actual manager, Matt, hung up on me 4 times and each call was the same: he didn't listen to me and told me to call their customer service and then hung up on me. When I was told by Coleman to take a photo of the items so that they could give me the proper customer service...nobody at the store would take a photo of my items for me. But Matt didn't stay on the phone long enough to hear it. I'm now thinking that's because they tossed the items long before my month deadline expired. Coleman took care of me anyway. April 22 I brought the items to this store and Jessica in customer service told me that I had a month to resolve the issue, not necessarily pick it up as non profits have pick up schedules. Several days before the month ended, I found very appropriately, an abuse shelter who would pick up both items once they had a team member to make the 45 minute trip to do so. I notified the store and customer service before the deadline of the plan that a non profit would be picking them up so they had no right to toss my items. I let the store know on Friday 5/29 that someone was on the way from San Jose (within a week of the deadline within which the plan had to be communicated, as Jessica abruptly mandated) and gave the store the heads up. Andreas couldn't find it and after so many lies and being hung up on so many times, and Jessica not listening and talking over me when I tried to correct her with accurate info, I figured that when he said he would look for it and let me know...that I would never hear. So today, my last call with Jessica, the manager of Big 5 customer service, she defended their action to toss my items since there was a pinhole leak (which they knew from the beginning as I told them so and it was sold that way; I think it was a prior return) and reneged on her prior comment that I had to let them know within the month...not picked up within the month. So I got the expected answer from her when I asked her to send a new queen air mattress and pump to this shelter and here's their address. She verbally attacked me. Now off to call the shelter...and let them know the unconscionable ending. Before I end this you should know that I called at least 5 other Big 5 CA stores for the regional/district manager's name and contact information and none would share it...so abusive managers can get away with their behaviors and their bosses never find out. So regional managers Paul Stockdale (No. CA) and Frank Golden (So. CA), make your contact info known if customers ask so that you can get the best store managers and staff who aren't afraid of accountability, truth and good customer service.

    Posting this as a cautionary tale for anyone buying shoes at Dick's Sporting Goods - Sunnyvale…read more This would have been a one star rating if not for Xavier in Footwear. Excellent service and attitude. I bought a pair of On Cloud shoes and within 5 days realized they were too big. The issue only showed up in real-world use: when walking downhill my foot slid forward into the toe box. That's not something you reliably catch by taking a few steps indoors. I went back to do a simple exchange (not a refund). The shoes were clean and in excellent condition. The only visible difference was very slight yellowing on the outsole contact pads -- noticeable under their bright store lighting but not dirty, or damaged. At first I was told the exchange would be fine. After further inspection, they reversed course and said the shoes were not "resaleable" due to wear. I spoke with multiple people (each initially identifying themselves as "the manager" before clarifying their role), and after a lot of back and forth the best options offered were: * 15% off a replacement pair, or * $60 store credit as a "no receipt return" value (they said this reflects the lowest recent selling price and excludes clearance). I ultimately took the $60 credit because my time is worth something and I needed the correct size. But the key takeaway is this: If you buy shoes here, assume you cannot test them outdoors -- even briefly -- without risking being denied an exchange. The 90-day return policy sounds generous, but in practice footwear appears to need to look completely unworn to qualify. I'm sharing this so others don't make the same assumption I did.

However, as I look through the other reviews, I just think that's their personality with everyone. after reassuring the owner that I intended to spend a lot of money there and complementing him on his excellent selection he changed his disposition and has become a very valuable teacher. Between Hi's and Phu Quy I limit out everytime based on their advice. He also got me a nice set up put together that works amazing and fresh and saltwater. Regarding the woman who works there, she is straight up and to the point and I appreciate that. A lot of of people expect women n minorities to shuck and jive for them in customer service roles... that's a reflection on the customer not the staff. It's a tackle shop don't overcomplicate it, I personally give this place and 10/10
