I have been having neck problems for five or so years. I've seen multiple doctors and had surgery. I wish that my any one of my doctors would put the care and thought into my neck that the two of these young ladies did. Theyasked questions. They listened. They seem concerned. We were always trying new things. Couldn't say enough about them. In a world of absolutely horrible healthcare they were two standouts. You'd be lucky to see them in a world of healthcare professionals who have flat out given up.

That Administrative staff could not be worse! the "Anti"Social workers are horrible. the Director of Nursing is an over paid gorilla. PT and OT and the L{Ns are the only things making the place bearable. Family members cannot get in contact with anyone on the staff and the Administrator spends more time walking the parking lot looking for parking violations than worrying about running the facility.God forbid you should be a lucid patient and expect to be treated kike a human being not just a check from Medicare. I won't even get into the fraud that they commit there. Dr. charged for visits he never performed. for a year and 1/2!

Lots of conversation, electrical stimulation that accomplished virtually nothing, very little hands on manipulation after the first couple of visits, stretches assigned to be performed at home (none during office visits) and invariably less than 60 minutes per session did nothing to increase range or motion or diminish pain. My last visit consisted of a 20 minute discourse on how she could do nothing more for me and when I suggested that I didn't think a co-pay was justified for what could have been accomplished over the phone, I thought it adacious of her to say that I was being disrespectful. Waste of time and money

I want to single out some staff members who went over and beyond to help me (sorry that I know only first names). My main physical therapist, Kristen, was terrific. She was kind and patient with me, and encouraged me (gently) to push myself. Thanks, Kristen. Nurse Carole was among the hardest working staff members, and she was extremely helpful to me and my roommate. How she kept her cheerful demeanor for her entire shifts was a mystery. The facility's physician, Dr Elkrem, was careful and very pleasant every time we interacted. Several members of the facility's admin staff stood out for helping me and making me feel that my needs would be taken into account: the dietician, Jenny, head of PT, Kelly, and head of admissions, Jenny. Being in rehab is no fun, but these people made the challenging situation more than tolerable. And they got me ready to go home.

My father recently completed alcohol detox there. Staff…read morewere incredibly short and rude with my mother, both during intake and on the phone when she repeatedly tried to tell them the medication list they had for him was incorrect and included gabapentin, which his doctor had recently taken him off of due to a prior adverse reaction. Instead of checking/confirming with his doctor, they brushed her off and said "We have the list from his pharmacy"--- which was not correct because it still included the gabapentin. When she called to follow up (because she did not feel heard by the intake staff), or to ask a question about insurance coverage, staff either told her they would call her back but never did, or transferred her to voicemail, and her messages were never returned. THEN, when my dad returned home, he was so overmedicated on downers that he was slurring his words! When my mom called Adcare to ask what kind of drugs they had given him and when, they said the night before he had been given a combination of ....melatonin, benadryl, AND GABAPENTIN!!! A quick Google search, and even a non-medical professional can find out that that's not a recommended combo, especially for older folks who could have slowed breathing, fall risks, etc, (and definitely not for people who have had adverse reactions). Finally, the discharge paperwork they sent home said, "Patient given a prescription for Narcan." and the box was checked!! My dad is trying to kick alcohol -- Narcan is for opioids, so we are not sure what to make of that. Patients are more than addicts, they are vulnerable humans who are there to get help and care. They and the people who love them are trusting that they will be safe there, and deserve better. This might have been a better review, if staff had approached a caring family member's concerns with empathy instead of brushing them off, and been willing to take a moment to check and confirm my dad's meds list.

Don't walk but RUN away from this facility. My mother stayed in the Reflections section (Dementia…read moreunit). From the first week she moved in, they increased her monthly fee by thousands of dollars because she needed additional care. I would have agreed to it if they provided the care that they promised, but they did not. And once you are there, you are stuck paying the extra costs until you can get your loved one out. We had to hire private care to come in to care for our mother until we could find a better facility. Management does not care. We met with them several times, but nothing changed. My mother suffered many UTIs and a fall under their care, and several visits to the hospital. She was not like this when she first moved in. Neglect of general and hygiene care put her deeper and deeper into poor health. One example: My mother fell from her bed in the early morning. An aide came in and saw her on the floor. She looked at her but did not bend down to see if she was okay. The aide left and came back 15 minutes later with help. 15 minutes! I would not recommend this facility if your loved one needs assistance.

If that's true, why are you constantly calling trying to get us to sign on the dotted line? Why not just go to the first name on this supposed waiting list? This facility did not even have my mom sign the contract even though she was perfectly capable of making her own decision to contract with a stay at home service just a week before and to sign the documents herself. Instead, they allowed her grandson to sign for her and to commit her to over a hundred thousand dollars a year. She didn't completely understand all of the extra fees. Almost nine thousand dollars a month for the most basic of care and you charge for phone and cable? You have extra fees for laundry to be done? She said, "They don't even provide toilet paper." When I asked how much it would be if my mom needed to be wheeled in a wheelchair to get to her meals etc., I didn't get a straight answer. It was, oh we'll reevaluate. We just can't say. They also charge $5,000 for you to even move in. When I asked what this was for, they said it's standard to charge for the nurse to sit with the resident and make a plan. Really? $5,000? The at-home service did that for free before she even signed their contract. Sounds like the sales person is getting a nice big commission.

It's been easy to schedule appointments with the very friendly office staff. The therapists I've seen (Megan, Ben, and Donna) have been knowledgeable, professional, thorough, encouraging, friendly, and just plain great. They've clearly explained the how and why of the treatment process, answered all my questions, and I've seen an improvement after every appointment. The end result was that I was able to confidently return to an active lifestyle. I also really like the fact that after the initial one-hour evaluation, the appointments are each 1/2 hour long with the therapist focused on only me. Each therapist only has one patient at a time so there's no down-time, waiting to be told what to do next like I've seen at other PT clinics. They give a manageable amount of effective "homework" each time, along with a thorough explanation of how to do the "assignment." Progress is steady and the outcome has always been positive. If I need PT in the future, there will be no question about where to go!
