I had my worries as I knew I couldn't keep up with the athletes on the Crossfit Games on ESPN, but one of the great things about the sport is the ability to scale back all of the movements to each athlete's fitness level. I came in for the on-ramp classes, and never looked back almost 2 years later. Rob and Ron are two of the nicest and most caring people you will ever meet, and their passion for the sport always shows through. This gym has something for everyone as there are near elite athletes swinging from rings and climbing ropes working out along side new members who maybe are just deciding to get off the couch and getting into the swing of things. If you are thinking about starting the Crossfit journey, I couldn't recommend more stopping by on a Saturday morning at 10am for the free intro class, but be prepared for a great workout.

I originally joined for the movie theater cardio room, the group classes, and the women's only area. Being able to watch a movie while working out makes it much easier to stay motivated, especially on days when I forget my headphones. I also liked the idea of having classes to stay consistent and a women's only space where I could work out without feeling uncomfortable. Unfortunately, those features no longer feel like real benefits. The class schedule is extremely inconvenient. No matter what shift I worked, the classes were either very early in the morning or late in the evening after dinner. Once I am home and have eaten, I am not going back out to the gym, especially knowing it will disrupt my sleep. The biggest issue for me was the women's only area. It no longer seems to be women only. I was on a treadmill when a man came over and started working out next to me while staring, which made me extremely uncomfortable. That was the final straw because that space was one of the main reasons I chose this gym in the first place. On top of that, many of the machines feel outdated, and the overall environment just no longer fits what I am looking for in a gym. Canceling was also frustrating. The only way to cancel is by email or physical mail, and responses take a long time. Even though I submitted my cancellation more than two weeks before my next billing cycle, I was told I would still be charged for another month anyway. At this point, I am relieved to be canceling. What originally made this gym appealing is no longer being delivered, and the cancellation process only added to the disappointment.

I live in Meriden and work in Wallingford, so this was a perfect opportunity to check this place…read moreout! This gym is in sort of an industrial building with other businesses. The space is very clean and well-organized. It's not overwhelming when you walk in, as some places can be, with so much equipment packed I to a small space. My two 50-minute classes were so fun and super effective - especially after upper body day, where I was sore for days! I enjoyed it so much that I signed up for 2x per week for 3 months - to give me that extra push before summer! I mostly interacted with Quint, but met the other staff, and everyone was very warm and welcoming. They all seem extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. It has been 4 months since the billing debacle occurred, I have yet to receive my $40 refund on wrongfully billed late charges which was promised to me by both the manager and the "home office"! I complied with THEIR request to change my billing method immediately and expected that they would do the same with the refund but NOOOOO! Shameful. And just to clarify...those late charges were because my debit card supposedly expired. And yet they managed to charge said debit card anyway!!!! I've now decided that if this company needed my measly $40 to keep the toilet paper available, so be it. I still like the place and it's not worth my time to chase them around. Maybe that $40 will be paid forward to a charitable cause.

My sitter went out of town for a month long summer vacation and I needed care quick (I didn't even utilize that care anymore after enrolling him with Happy feet)! I'm always apprehensive to leave my child with anyone, but she immediately invited me over to see where my child would be and to meet her. She was very warm and welcoming. She's a mom, it's very apparent that she cares for your child the way she cares for her own 2! She was flexible with my awful work hours, and always had a briefing for me as to what my son ate and did for the day. I'm SO DISTRAUGHT that I'm relocating! Now I have to find someone as fantastic as she is. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!
